Best RV Parks & Resorts near Paradise, UT

Paradise, Utah offers several developed RV campgrounds within driving distance. Aspen Grove RV Park in Tremonton features concrete pads with full hookups including 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer connections. Traveland RV Park in Logan provides 45 full-hookup sites operating year-round with both 30-amp and 50-amp power options. Golden Spike RV Park in Brigham City maintains 38 sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups, though reviews suggest the park works better for overnight stays than extended visits. Many parks accommodate large motorhomes and fifth wheels with pull-through sites that eliminate difficult backing maneuvers. "This is a newer RV park with huge sites, which is awesome since we tow a 44' toy hauler with a back patio and really like these extra long sites."

Northern Utah experiences significant seasonal fluctuations, with most RV parks maintaining year-round operations despite winter conditions. Several campgrounds provide amenities specifically designed for traveling RVers, including laundry facilities, dump stations, and reliable Wi-Fi access. Access roads to most established RV parks remain well-maintained, though travelers should note that some routes involve navigating mountain passes when traveling between parks. Pet policies vary between facilities, with most allowing pets but imposing restrictions on breed types or requiring leashes in common areas. According to one visitor, "The road along Oneida Narrows is good graded gravel. At the base of the dam, a sign recommends against large RVs and towed vehicles... but it's ok, just a little rutted in places." Reservation systems typically operate online with advance booking recommended during summer peak season.

Dry Hollow Campground — Echo State Park

    Right by the lake

We are at a spot that is on a cement loop (#1) which was unlevel and it is not next to the lake but closer to the road (which is not too busy) but a view of the lake. You get a nice covered pavilion with a steel picnic table and fire ring with grate for grilling. The camp host was very sweet. Most of the sites are pull through and accommodates big rigs very well. The park managers keep it clean.

    Hill AFB FamCamp

    Cute little spot

Great amenities, dog park, showers, laundry. Stayed here long term a couple times and it’s always a great stay! Close to the park, splash pad, and track. Hosts are pleasant. A little close together but good for being on base.

    Golden Spike RV Park

Great RV Spot Close to the Interstate

This an wonderful medium sized RV campground that is totally locally owned so you know your stay will go towards benefiting local families!  That and given its proximity to the Interstate make it the closest and easiest RV campground to get to near Brigham City/Perry.  It is a perfect stopping point if you're looking at having all the comforts of home before heading into the mountains or into the towns nearby.  Amenities include a full laundry and bathroom in addition to cable TV and Wi-Fi.  They owners are on the property year round and is a very safe place to stay.  There are 38 sites that have 30 and 50 amp hookup options in addition to water.  Definitely visit this RV campground over the nearby KOA as it supports local businesses!!!

If you want to spend time out in nature there is the nearby Bird Refuge, and Great Salt Lake.  To the north and northwest of here there lies the amazing Devils Playground and the namesake of the campground which is the Golden Spike National Historic Site in which the rail lines from the east and west met.  To the east there are numerous canyons to choose from in case the days are too sweltering hot to stay in the valleys

    On the beach!

This campground seems like it is one of the closer campgrounds to the water. It's pet-friendly, has full hookups, picnic tables, and wifi. The nice thing about this campground is it does have a beach as well as water/lake access. Not as many amenities as the KOA (Bear Lake/Marina Side).

The bathhouse was very clean. Did seem less busy than the KOA (Bear Lake/Marina Side).

Birch Campground — Bear Lake State Park

    Not What We Were Expecting

The address we put into our GPS took us to the Marina so we drove further along the lake to Rendezvous Beach area where we checked in at the gate house with no problems. We then proceeded to the Birch campground(CG) FHU site 55, which was a pull through. The CG map shows there are 4 CGs(Willow, Birch, Cottonwood,& Big Creek). Big Creek is the oldest with a lot more shade trees than the other listed CGs. The CGs run in sequence along the south end of the lake. The sites are well spaced with a nice little covered patio with the picnic table. The beach is about 100 yards away and we had a sliver of lake view. We were surprised that dogs are not allowed on the park beaches. There was a fire ban that included charcoal grills(propane okay). We had great water pressure, used 15’ sewer hose, and received about 30 OTA channels. We had a clear shot to the southern sky, but didn’t need/use our satellite. We got 4 bars on Verizon. We where not sure what to expect when we decided to come to Bear Lake SP but we sure were not expecting it to be dog restrictive. Dogs are not allowed by the lake/beach or in day use areas so we were limited to walking them around the campground. We also were not expecting a tourist trap, sunning beach, and crowded with families during the week(Mon- Thur) late in August. There were plenty of CG workers but they did not keep up with the trash laying about. Our fire pit, which we couldn’t use, had trash in it to include a pair of kids underwear. We did enjoy going to Montpelier and visiting the Oregon/California Trail Center and Butch Cassidy Museum. One and done for us.

Dixie Creek Campground — East Canyon State Park

A good example of how government campsites should be done

Overall, the facility is neat and clean for a campground. My visit was at the end of the 4th weekend, so some messes were expected. My campsite was in good shape upon setting up my 30ft trailer. All sites are back-in and mostly flat asphalt. A little rig leveling might be needed. The outside of the loop at Dixie C.G. is electric and water only. The inside of the loop has full hook-ups.

All sites have long, sturdy metal tables and a metal cover over a concrete pad. A fire pit was adjacent. Even with fire restrictions almost everywhere else in Utah, wood fires were permitted in the provided pit. Common area toilets are well maintained, containing flush toilets and running water. Most service buildings also contain free showers.

A one-star deduction is due to the effects of climate change, which is out of the Park's control to an extent. That said, my beef is with maintenance of the beach - a nice beach by the way. It's obvious where the historical water level use to be. Wish I could have seen the reservoir full because it may never happen again. But I digress. I think the park should rake or scrape the beach surface to remove offensive weeds and people's discards. That takes workers, budget and equipment. My guess is our State representatives lack interest to fund state parks for such mediation measures. It would greatly enhance the visual appeal and safety for families at the water's edge.

    Porcupine Campground

    Green and Beautiful

Such a beautiful area for a campground. Our visit was in June and everything was green green green! So much vegetation along the crystal clear creek. There are signs of active beavers with many dams and lodges.

We stayed in the "group" site which can fit two tailers and the three vehicles. We also used the adjacent site 3 for a third trailer. The group site has two picnic tables on a concrete pad and a fire pit with built in benches. The sites are spread nicely especially on the upper loop with reservable sites. It would be difficult to fit large fifth wheel trailers.

One complaint is that the campground website is lacking information and does not match the information at the campsite. There are many sites not on the map that are first come first serve. The prices also don't match what is advertised on the website (by a couple dollars)

Just up the road is Minnetonka cave where you can take a guided 90 minute tour. Worth the visit.

Guide to Paradise

Northern Utah's camping options near Paradise extend beyond the immediate town limits, with elevations ranging from 4,500 to 7,000 feet in the surrounding areas. The region experiences four distinct seasons, with summer temperatures typically ranging from 75-90°F during the day and 50-60°F at night. Winter camping options remain available at lower elevations despite the colder temperatures and snowfall that can exceed 70 inches annually in the mountain areas.

What to do

Hot springs soaking: Belmont Hot Springs RV Park offers natural hot springs for relaxation after outdoor activities. "Love hot springs, love all the open space. Nothing but love for this park. We went in the winter and we were able to jump into the hot springs and my family loved," reports one visitor.

River exploration: Take advantage of riverside locations for fishing and hiking. At Riverside RV Resort, "There is a river and walking trail just steps away from all sites" and "You can go fishing or they say you can tube or wade in it. Shallow for the most part."

Mountain biking: Trails around the region offer varied terrain for cyclists. "There is a trailhead right down the road that is along the Weber River. Mountain bike or hike, you will have a good time," notes one camper about the trails near Riverside RV Resort.

Wildlife viewing: The wetlands and mountains support diverse wildlife. "Find the scuba Hot Springs pool. Just beyond that is a yellow gate. We were given permission to walk down that road... it winds back into the most beautiful landscape. Lots of flowers and birds and bugs and wildlife."

What campers like

Clean, modern facilities: Many rv sites near Paradise, Utah feature updated amenities. At Aspen Grove RV Park, "The sites were long, paved, and level. You do get some noise from the freeway and there isn't much shade because the trees are still young."

Spacious campsites: Larger sites provide comfort and privacy. "This place is amazing. Secluded and dark but flat, impeccably clean EVERYTHING! The spots were ENORMOUS! And spaced very liberally," notes one visitor about Aspen Grove RV Park.

Natural surroundings: Despite being near urban areas, many parks maintain natural elements. "We have been coming here for over 25 years. It was a membership campground until about 5 years ago when Sun Outdoors took over," notes a visitor to Sun Outdoors Garden City Utah, adding "This campground seems like it is one of the closer campgrounds to the water."

Community amenities: Shared spaces enhance the camping experience. One camper at Valley View RV Resort noted, "The amenities are incredible and we had a blast enjoying the pool and doggy areas."

What you should know

Seasonal considerations: Winter camping requires preparation but offers unique experiences. "We went in the winter and we were able to jump into the hot springs and my family loved. We would be going every winter as it isn't too far from Salt Lake City."

Noise factors: Some camping areas near Paradise experience environmental noise. "The interstate is 20 yards from the first row of sites. It was constant traffic noise 24/7. Sometimes it would slow up a little bit so that you could hear the airplanes flying overhead, or the train going by on the track that are 30 yards away as well."

Limited shade: Newer RV facilities may lack mature trees. "Clean and modern. That is the problem. This is a $75 parking lot. Pavement, cement and no shade. No fire pits. I prefer shade (94°) and more of a camping feel."

Road conditions: Access to some camping areas requires navigating diverse terrain. "The views were amazing - excellent sunset and wild horses nearby. Would stay here anytime I am in need of a place to sleep in the area."

Tips for camping with families

Play spaces: Look for campgrounds with dedicated recreation areas. "There is a center grass location that's great for kids to play," notes a visitor to Cub River Lodge & RV Park.

Swimming options: Water features provide entertainment for children. "Quiet time of year here which was great. Lake is beautiful, facilities clean. Will come back," shares a camper about Sun Outdoors Garden City Utah.

Local attractions: Nearby destinations offer family-friendly activities. "Right next door to the Lagoon Amusement Park, it is super convenient. Lots of grass and some decent space between sites," says a camper about Lagoon RV Park & Campground.

Wildlife encounters: Natural habitats provide educational opportunities. "The drive up to the lodge and rv park is amazing. Great hosts and a wonderful spot," notes a visitor to Cub River Lodge, adding "I have been so blessed to have shared fun times on razor rides on all the many trails up the Mountainside."

Tips from RVers

Site sizing: Most RV parks near Paradise accommodate larger vehicles. "Great place to overnight while passing through northern Utah. Huge full hookup sites with concrete pads. Nice and quiet despite being near the intersection of I-15 and I-84."

Hookup availability: Full-service sites are common in the region. "Private RV secured area with RV laundry and shower facilities. Private fenced in dog parks in RV area separate from gas station. Showers are included in price of stay."

Reservation timing: Advanced booking becomes essential during peak periods. "We only stayed here one night passing through town but found it to be exactly what we needed. We got in late on a Sunday night in September and there were only a handful of RVs and a few campers."

Pet amenities: Many RV parks offer dedicated pet areas. "We're in a 33' bumper pull & a ram 2500 and fit very well into spot 120 but there were many rigs much larger than ours."
