Overview
St. Charles Campground is situated on its namesake creek in the scenic St. Charles Canyon, approximately 8 miles from Bear Lake State Park and North Beach.
Recreation
Nearby, the North Fork Trail and its associated trails access the Highline Trail #316. The Highline Trail is part of the National Trail System and is the area's premier trail. It stretches 55 miles along the backbone of the Wasatch Mountains and is open to hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders and motorcyclists, attracting trail users from around the world. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game manages the river fisheries, providing good to excellent fishing most of the year, including in St. Charles Creek. In-season big game hunting is also a popular activity.
Facilities
The campground offers one group site that can accommodate up to 20 people. Six single sites are also available. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. A paved road leads to the campground.
Natural Features
Stands of aspens provide partial shade, while lodgepole pines, willow, dogwoods, Engelmann spruce and wild roses dot the landscape. The varied vegetation provides plenty of privacy from site to site.
Nearby Attractions
Minnetonka Cave, one of only two developed caves in the Forest Service, is a few miles from the campground. Guided cave tours are scheduled every 30 minutes daily from early June until Labor Day. The Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge is just north of Bear Lake, offering excellent bird watching. Bear Lake's Raspberry Days Festival occurs the first weekend in August every year, with a parade, fireworks, craft booths and a rodeo.

Nice Space
Stayed on a saturday night, May 13th. There was no charge as its first come, first serve until Memorial weekend.
Nice creek running through the campsite. Has fire pit and picnic table.
No cell service. Verizon.
Lots of cow pies on the ground.
Enough trees on lot 5 to put up a hammock.
Beautiful Spot Next to the River
St charles campground in namesake St Charles Canyon was a nice little campsite that has 1 group site and 6 individual campsites. There is a good amount of shade at nearly all the campgrounds and they are close to the creek. It has simple amenities like vault toilets, metal fire rings and picnic tables. Nearby is the beautiful Minnetonka cave and Bear Lake where you can recreate in numerous ways! In the campground there were many wild rose bushes blooming and raspberries that had yet to fruit

Only 6 sites, very near Bear Lake
Disclosure: I did not camp overnight, but spent a fair amount of time here at my friends site. Please see my Ranger review of Cloverleaf Campground (and the Primus Trailbreak Vacuum Bottle), just a few miles up the road from here. (Our group got split up)
There are only 6 camp sites in this small campground, it is very nice, although it was in need of mowing/trimming. The tent was pitched right next to Saint Charles Creek. It is currently very high (6/2017). I was worried they may get their tent wet!
The camp is paved, so no dust! They have flush toilets and potable water.
There are 4 campgrounds along the road to Minnetonka Cave. All access the Highline Trail.
Very close to Bear Lake and Minnetonka Cave!
