Family Friendly and Convenient

My boyfriend and I stayed here when we didn't have any luck with the more primitive spots we had in mind. Although initially upset, we were treated to some simple pleasures, including a HOT SHOWER after a hot day of exploring Yellowstone! We rolled in relatively late, as the sun was starting to set, and had no problems.

The employees at the office and gas station were very helpful and friendly. They even worked with us to get a "more secluded" site at the end of a row. This is a busy campground outside of a busy NP, but it does not feel overly busy and detract from the scenery. If anything, it is very comforting while camping near grizzly country. I would say it is perfect for families, and those who want to enjoy the wild outdoors of Yellowstone with less hassle and a little more convenience.

There is a gas station nearby- really great after driving all around Yellowstone all day. Perfect for anyone exploring Yellowstone or Grand Teton.

Free back county dispersed camping

Following the road behind the Flagg Ranch Restaurant/ Visitors Center and you will find backcountry campsite scattered in small groups of 5 and 6 along the river. Vault toilet, picnic tables, fire rings trash cans and bear safes are provided. No fires were allowed this year but the beauty of the mountains were enchanting. Park rangers stopped by to check for compliance to the 5 day limit and pick up trash, I was able to leave camp set up and go sight seeing and no one bothered any thing. There was fly fishing in the river and swimming was also possible, boating further up river, I stayed on the shore. People were very friendly and by day two we were all hanging out together watching the pelicans float down the river and fly back up together like a group of kids at a water park. It was amazing.

snake river camping

The dirt road from flagg ranch headed west has camp sites all along Snake River. Some with 1-5 spots per site. Pit toilets, bear boxes but no running water that I saw. I liked that it was in the National Park but you definitely could get away from how busy it can be.

Great place to stay

We only stayed here one night, but it was just what we needed. All the campgrounds in Yellowstone were full but we found a spot here just south of the south entrance. It was an easy drive from the park and a great stopping point on our way to the Tetons. Spots were small but fit our suburban and small trailer fine. During the night a herd of elk came through the campground.

Another overpriced national park campground.

Overall great. Just overpriced. All amenities for the full family. Campground is pet friendly but not national park off paved roads or sidewalk. Beautiful place friendly staff just over priced camping.

Flagg Ranch

We went to Grand Teton National Park and stayed at many of the campgrounds and this one was surprisingly one of our favorite. We saw a lot of deer (which aren't too special) but seeing than made you feel like you were a part of the wild and part of the park. I liked other sites more but if there was no room at Jenny Lake, this is where I would go.
