    Goose Island State Park Campground

    Right on the Bay

We stayed 14 nights in one of the Bay sites. Really enjoyed the view and sunsets. We watched Dolphins right in front of us every day. Pros: Bayfront site's view, easy in and out, easy set up, fishing, close to stores and restaurants, nice pavillion with picnic table at each site, Nice dock to fish off of and can fish right at your site. Clean restrooms. Pet friendly with 6ft leash rule. Cons: TTs and 5th wheels are supposed to back in. This causes the pavillion to be on the wrong side. You open your door to your neighbors pavillion. Motorhomes, Cs & Bs can pull in so the pavillion is on the correct side however the W&E hookups are then on the wrong side. (They are working to fix this issue) Wooded section is not big rig friendly. Low hanging branches and many sites difficult to back in to. (We didn't stay in this section, we drove through without 5th wheel) The air boats. There are 3-5 different ones that come in and out ALL day every day starting around 6:30am. They are so loud they vibrate the campers.

    Wilderness Oaks RV Resort

Okay but next to airport with poor park drainage

The previous reviewer is correct about the airport noise.

    Pros:

    • Our RV site was a back-in with plenty of room on a concrete pad with a picnic table. We were in the back row.

    • Our site did not have trees hanging over like a lot of sites (we have solar panels).

    Cons:

    • The campground wifi sucked. We relied more on our own Verizon wifi hotspot (we never assume park wifi is good).

    • Next to airport.

    • RV park, especially on eastern half, has seriously poor drainage. We were trapped in our RV lot, unable to leave, because the water was too deep for our Class A to go through without damage/mess of some sort.

Wintered here Jan, Feb, and Mar 2025. Spend a little more and get a water front site. Concrete pads, nice FHU stations. Large clubhouse. Two shower and laundry facilities. Fishing. Clear water. Gated. Pool and hot tub. Mail and package delivery free of charge - pick up at clubhouse. Close to town.

    Victoria City RV Park

    Riverside RV Park, Victoria, Texas

The city of Victoria operates a very nice RV park adjoining the city’s recreational complex. 18 pull through sites have full hookups and are generously spaced. Cost is $12.00 per night and all sites are “first come, first served”. 50 amp service is available on each site.

The park is located within a park and adjacent to the park is a paved walking/biking path that if taken to the south, leads over to the Guadalupe River. Along the river is a 18 hole City golf course, minor league baseball field, duck pond and a children’s museum. All beautiful landscaped and maintained by the city of Victoria.

I highly recommend this park and I would certainly stay here again in the future!!

    Serendipity Bay RV Resort

Peaceful but sites too close together

Very well-maintained and pet-friendly RV park with various amenities such as a pool, fishing pier, and dog park. Sites are very close together with little room to set up outside between RVs. Very little room to park vehicle once RV is in place and limited space to back in. Enjoyed the peaceful sunrises and sunsets and the constant breeze was a plus to keep the humidity and heat down. Take plenty of anti-mosquito repellent, as around mid-morning and late afternoon, the mosquitoes come out in force. A good location for those wishing to fish, but not sightseeing. The town has very few amenities and only a couple of restaurants and small stores.

    Goose Island State Park Campground

    Windy and beautiful

We hit some big wind 3/21/22. We were in the beach front with waves crashing over so we got luck and moved to the wooded area. While there are some low branches- I was able to carefully maneuver into #125 with my tall fifth wheel. But it was close. Lots of birds, deer, and fishing. I see attraction of the beach front, but the wooded area is really nice with private sites, camp for grills, tables and….trees for shade.

    Goose Island State Park Campground

    LOVED this campground

I’ve been to about 10 different campgrounds this year on several different states. Goose island state park is by far the best. This time we stayed in the wooded area. I didn’t think I would like it (I loved the waterfront sites) but I loved it. The sites are a good distance apart and have new paved driveways that are very level. There is a pole for hanging lightning and a campfire pit. There is electricity and water. We are in site 115 and I have cell service which makes me very happy. I don’t think the site numbers 200’s have cell service as they are father in. It’s quiet and dark at night. The site has woods and trees behind so it’s very private. It can hold a pretty big rig. Ours is only 26 ft but it can hold much bigger. This site is fabulous. The weather is great and there are tons of things to do in the area. Book it! We are coming back.

    Hub City RV Park

Very nice city park - Hidden Gem alert!

We came into this park on the 4th day of the big Texas freeze this past winter. Unfortunate for them,  pipe broke and they were out of water at the time. But it was fixed a couple days after we arrived.

Now as for the park. It has a section of 30 amp services which are in some shades and are on concrete, a newer area in the park has been created which for the most part is in a field, with new 50 amp service and are on grass. All sites have water and sewer as well. There are seasonal/annuals in the park I would say about 25% of 30amp service is. If you choose to be one, you need to go to the town and get a permit otherwise there is a two week limit to camp here.

We use ATT on Nomad Internet and Verizon & T-Mobile on our phones, ATT Wi-Fi was 4 bars and our phones were each 3 bars and no issues with any of the services,

There is  bath house located in the center of the park as you come into the entrance. The park is on a "park and hook up and then pay" system. After setting up to go to the front of the bathhouse and leave a check or cash into a box. The city of Yoakum maintains the park and it is well kept. Garbage dumpster is free and available as well. There is a playground for kids as well  as right next to a full size golf course. So you could get into your golf cart and right over to the clubhouse while never getting on a roadway.  The cost is very cheap, we paid $13 a night with senior discount, regular price is $15  That is FHU!! You will hear a plan or two during the day as there is a small airport down the street, but the low flying small planes are not too disturbing. The town of Yoakum is 5 minutes from your location and it has a Family dollar and a H.E.B as well as a few cool shops.

If your ever out that way and need a place to stay that is friendly, clean and quiet for the most part, you won't be disappointed.

    Serendipity Bay RV Resort

    By the water

Nicely equipped RV park right on water. Paid a few more dollars to have a pull thru site with FHU, cable & level concrete pad to pull on to. Nice big bathrooms with showers, laundry, pool, playground, gym room, small fenced dog run and large heated community room. No pets allowed in laundry/community room.

Guide to Victoria

Victoria County offers several RV campgrounds with varying amenities and price points. Located along the Texas Gulf Coast, this area experiences hot, humid summers with temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F and mild winters with occasional cold fronts. Most RV parks in the region remain open year-round, with spring and fall offering the most comfortable camping weather.

What to do

Explore the Guadalupe River: The Guadalupe at Cuero RV Park provides access to the slow-moving waters of the Guadalupe River. "Less than a mile off the highway, this RV Park feels further as it rests along the Guadalupe's slow moving water," notes Jake C.

Visit local attractions: When staying at Victoria City RV Park, campers can access nearby recreational facilities. "Along the river is an 18 hole City golf course, minor league baseball field, duck pond and a children's museum. All beautiful landscaped and maintained by the city of Victoria," writes Bradley H.

Fishing opportunities: Many parks provide fishing access, with some stocking their own ponds. At Southbound RV Park and Cabins, visitors appreciate the "stocked fishing pond" along with "full rv hookups," according to Jeremy C.

What campers like

Affordable full hookups: Budget-conscious campers appreciate the value at Victoria City RV Park. "Full hookups for $12 a day is definitely not a bad price at all," states kai E., though noting there are "no bathrooms, no shade."

Peaceful waterfront settings: Many RVers value the tranquility of waterfront locations. James P. says Texas Lakeside RV Resort offers a "nice and peaceful" environment, adding, "Spend a little more and get a water front site. Concrete pads, nice FHU stations."

Well-maintained facilities: Clean, organized campgrounds rank high with visitors. Curtis K. describes Texas Lakeside RV Resort as a "Very Beautiful Gated RV Park, well maintained lawn, large club house with pool. Large catch and release fish pond in the middle."

What you should know

Site configurations vary: Some parks offer spacious sites while others are more compact. Kenny at Gateway to the Gulf RV Park notes, "The sites are back-to-back. Not long enough to park both my truck and 5th wheel. I had to park my truck offsite."

Weather considerations: The Victoria area experiences tropical weather patterns, with occasional storm systems affecting coastal campgrounds. Plan accordingly during hurricane season from June through November.

Cell service and Wi-Fi: Internet connectivity is important to many campers. Magnolia Beach RV Park receives praise for connectivity, with rspillers84 noting, "Wi-Fi included at no additional charge and the bandwidth was good."

Tips for camping with families

Recreational options: Families should consider parks with dedicated play areas. Southbound RV Park and Cabins offers a "playground" alongside their dog park and other amenities, making it suitable for families with children.

Beach access: For families seeking water activities, coastal options provide additional recreation. Paul James B. reports, "We stayed here for a week this summer and loved it! The beach is just a short walk away, and my wife and kids really enjoyed our morning walks."

Local history: Educational opportunities exist near many campgrounds. When staying at Angels In Goliad RV Park, Dennis B. recommends to "Make sure to learn about the history of the town from them," referring to the knowledgeable hosts.

Tips from RVers

Surface considerations: RV campers should be aware of pad and road conditions. Julio E. at Twin Lakes RV Park advises, "If you're too concerned about getting your rig dirty on a rainy day stay away. The slots are paved and new! The drives are gravel, but slots are paved."

Dump station options: RVers needing to service tanks have several options. Wayne R. suggests Magnolia Beach RV Park as a "Great place to dump, fill and charge batteries before or after free camping at Magnolia beach."

Hookup reliability: Quality utility connections matter to RVers. Shiner T. observed that Angels In Goliad RV Park has "Gravel pads. New hookups," indicating recently upgraded facilities.
