Paved roads and sites, several with lakefront access. Only a few have sewer hookups, most with water and electric.

Relax by the lake, tour an old Texas farm, or explore our rugged limestone hills and rare prairie pockets. Though we’re just a short drive from the DFW Metroplex, it feels like you’re a world away from the city.

Visit Cedar Hill State Park for the day or weekend. Bring your family to hike, bike, picnic, camp, geocache and nature watch. The park sits on the shore of Joe Pool Lake, so you can also swim, fish, and boat or paddle.

Camp at one of 350 developed campsites, all near restrooms with hot showers. All sites have water and electricity; 150 have sewer hookups, too. Several sites are ADA-accessible. Or hike to a primitive campsite, if trails are open.

Consider it a staycation–when you visit Meadowmere Park, open from 8 AM to sunset you’ll have a whopping 288 acres to explore of sparkling water, sandy beaches, and green grassy expanses. You can rent kayaks, standup paddleboards from DFW Surf for floating out onto the sparkling water of the lake.

Meadowmere Park is home to the largest floating aqua park obstacle course in Texas, WhoaZone. Located on Grapevine Lake, the enormous floating playground is the best way to cool off this Summer. Bring your family and friends to slip, slide, and have tons of fun.

If you’ve come to eat your lunch, you’ll find the fire pits and grills perfect for whatever you’re cooking up. A designated beach just for swimming is just right for relaxing in the cool of the lake. When you’re bringing the whole family, a playground, and shaded picnic tables.

Looking for a great place to tent camp? Campers can choose to stay overnight on a beautiful lakeside primitive campsite complete with picnic tables and fire rings, and you’re free to bring your pets along too.

## Overview

Holiday Park dayuse area (North Holiday Park) is on the west side of Benbrook Lake in north central Texas, accessible from US Hwy 377. Picnicking, hiking & horeseback trails, boat launch, swimming, fishing, & wildlife viewsing are available.

## Recreation

The Holiday Park dayuse area offers picnicking, boat launching, swimming, fishing, and several miles of open, shallow shoreline. Prevailing winds attract windsurfers. The lake record for largemouth bass is over thirteen pounds. Other catches include carp, crappie, sunfish, channel & flathead catfish.

## Facilities

This day-use park provides a designated swimming beach, vault toilets, and boat ramps, along with a children's play structure near the swim beach. A marina is nearby on the lake.

## Natural Features

Holiday Park dayuse area has wooded creek bottoms to upland prairie, with shallow shorelines and rocky slopes.
