Free camping awaits at this Texas Parks and Wildlife Department site with drive-in and walk-in access on open terrain beside Lake Daniel. The campground allows campfires, pets, and alcohol, with picnic tables provided for day use and overnight stays.
Campers can set up on the open ground near the lake's edge without reservation fees or time limits. The nearby Lake Daniel City Park offers additional facilities just north for those wanting more developed amenities.
Description
Three public boat ramps are available. These ramps are largely unusable when the lake level falls about 10 feet below spillway level. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is necessary to launch boats under low-water conditions. Picnic sites and primitive camping sites are available; however, there is no ADA-accessible fishing access, marina, boat rental facility, or bait store.
