Thousand Trails Hershey

This is a first come first serve campground in terms of picking sites. I made a reservation months in advance, but it only guaranteed me a site. By the time I arrived all the full hookups were taken and I was stuck with a water and electric which is the same price as full hookup apparently. I did manage to find a nice spot which had no other sites on either side. It has plenty of grass and the hookups were close. It’s a very large campground, but the pool was clean and nice. They offer tons of activities too on the weekends at least. We stayed here for chocolate world and it was about a 20 minute drive to there. The only negative was the first come First serve for sites and paying the same as a full hookup site.

Thousand Trails Hershey is huge! Sites were first come, first served which was a little weird for us but wasn’t a problem. Sites came with full hook ups, picnic table and fire pit. The bathhouse was clean, but the water was the kind that you had to push and hold the lever in order for the water to run. Doing this during a shower is pretty inconvenient. The park has a ton of amenities that I imagine are great for long termers, but for us being a. Quick stay, we often pick places on having the convenience of a bathroom and when that’s not convenient 🤷🏻‍♀️. Also, upon check in you are given several pieces of paper explaining all of the rules which I found a little much and just not necessary. Overall, it was a clean and picturesque campground.

This campground does not reserve your site. After you make your reservation, arrive at the check in gate, they give you a map and the hunt is on! You need to drive through the very crowded campground to locate an open spot that fits your rig and has the hook ups you paid for. Easy on management, stressful on the camper. Not a resort experience. Check in at the gate was rushed and brusque. Lots of “Don’t” signs throughout the campground, but no enforcement of those rules. There are family activities planned, pool, playground, etc.

If you like to go to a campground that's pretty quiet in spring time, this is the place. Didn't get to enjoy much of the campgrounds as we spent most of our time in Hershey Park. The campgrounds was pretty well kept and nice, staff was very kind, courteous and helpful. Wish we had more time.

We had the place to ourselves at the top of the hill. On Saturday night, at a synchronized time, the entire campground started howling like wolves. We had a great weekend. Some of the amenities were closed, but our visit was based around Hershey Park, so it wasn’t an issue.

This is a clean, nice looking campground in a location very close to Hershey park and the outlets. It’s a very nice area. If you stay with water and electric only, there is much more space than if you stay in the section where you have full hook-ups. In the full hook-ups, campers are crowded in very close to one another. The area has a lot of trees, which adds to the overall allure.

Near Hershey Park. Shuttle bus to the park. Nice sites in the shade. Has pool and playground.

This campground is operated as part of the Hershey Corporation. It is located minutes from Hershey Park and the campground does provide bus services to the park. Sites are generally very close together, and more crowded than a typical KOA. Even having a fire may be problematic based on the site and your neighbors RV placement. Full hook up and pull through sites are located in Carrousel Circle at the front of the park. At booking ask for your site number and never accept site 192 which has a telephone pole located near or in the site. Campground is convenient to Hershey Park and the town, but charges Disney Prices for a campground that just doesn’t measure up. Their are better places in Central Pennsylvania.

This resort park is crowded, noisy, and void of nature. If you are ok with a more built up camping experience while visiting Hershey Park, or if you’ll just be in your RV anyway, this is an ok campground. I wouldn’t stay again, but with family it isn’t the worst choice you can make, as it is close enough to civilization and entertainment to keep everyone busy (even reluctant campers).

Hershey Park is AMAZING, I'm 26 and I loved every minute of it.

The campsite wasn't that great. It had the essentials like a fire ring and a picnic table, but the "tent pad" was large gravel surrounded by over grown grass. The bathrooms were very nice (best ive ever camped with and the saving grace of this review). They also had a large camp store and affordable wood and ice. BUY YOUR PARK TICKETS AT THE CAMPGROUND, there is a discount and also a free shuttle to and from all the Hershey locations.

We were so close to the neighbors that we could understand each others conversations, but we only had that problem at night around the fire.

If you are looking for traditional camping in the woods, than keep looking, however if you are looking for a resort getaway type of camping, than this place is for you! The pools were what you could imagine in a Disney resort or something! it was huge! I also all of the staff were very kind and caring individuals, I honestly felt like i was staying in a resort hotel ( until i crawled into my tent) This place was wonderful! and it was super close to the Hersey factory, which was a must see site for the kids! (We bought our tickets to the Hersey park through the camp ground, and it saved us some money) Each site had a fire pit, which allowed us to have a fun night making smores! I will likely be back!

The town really does smell like chocolate. This is a resort style park that we went to with scouts to ease them into tent camping. The sites are packed in like sardines and it’s pretty chaotic. Pros: close to the amusement park, cabin options, various park extras (early entry, coupons, package deals), pool, extensive store & gift shop, sports fields, etc. easy to remember loop names. Cons: very packed, lots of kids, not too quiet, train tracks right next to many of the sites and cabins, no park shuttle, not for nature experience. If you are ok with this kind of “resort” as a cheap place to stay while in Hershey, it’s ok.

The campground is part of Hershey and as such offers good discounts to Hersheypark. While it offers nice amenities and a shuttle to Hersheypark, the campground itself is very tight, cramped, and hard to navigate. The sites are so small that many tow vehicles have to park partially on the narrow access roads making it difficult to get in and out of with a big rig.

We stayed here in a Class A motor home.
