Laverne County Park Beauty

Winter camping at this beautiful county park has lots of room and few campers. The river is awesome and the Myrtlewood trees and craggy rocks are so pretty. Spaces have electric and water with a dump station. Also many tent sites.

Serene

Stayed on a lot right off the river with a steep little foot path to the rivers edge. Very beautiful and serene to see and listen to but the trade off is NO cell service what so ever.

Beautiful county park with awesome hosts

We just had to escape the crazy busy Oregon Coast so we drove inland to this county park along the North Fork of the Coquille River. There are modern flush toilets and vault toilets. Our campsite was between two waterfalls including Laverne Falls. We had a view of the smaller one from our creek side site. We paid $15.23 for site 59. Picnic table, fire ring and potable water. We were there on a Monday night with just a few campers present but the locals enjoy it on the weekends for swimming and picnicking. Beautiful setting.

Quiet, with less of river access.

The tent sites are fairly close together, but it was not crowded when we were there. There is a swimming hole and lots of access to the calm river. There is a fountain of potable water at every site, decent bathrooms, and even hot showers. The sites were shady, some were very close to the "main road" which really doesn't get much traffic.

Remote, crowded, and noisy

This park wasn’t terrible, but it will definitely not make my favorites list. It is pretty remote so make sure you have everything you need before you head out. It’s very family friendly but not in a good way. There were probably more kids than adults there and they were running around in the road and not watching the cars and it was just stressful trying to navigate through the campsite and not hit someone. Even though the campsite is remote, it sits right by the road and there was a surprising amount of noisy traffic even at night. There were flushing toilets but they didn’t work well and the bathroom wasn’t horrible, but I wish it had been cleaner. The guidebook that we found this campsite in said there was hiking and even a close waterfall, but we were so unimpressed with the spot and the people that were there that we just decided to peace out without checking out the area. Overall, it wasn’t horrible and maybe it was just that certain weekend that we went, but definitely will not be going back.
