Best Glamping near Brookings, OR

This beach is a quick drive from Brookings, Oregon. It is clean, with beautiful geology and colors on the rocks that make a great background for photos. We witnessed a bride take photos with her groom while we were here!

Beautiful campsite. Surrounded by redwoods, how could you go wrong. This campground is right next to river. Not far from Brookings or Cresent City. Will stay here again!

Camped here one night, using van/tent. I would not usually come to an RV centered camp ground like this but there was little else available in the area. Its a 8 mile drive up a nice windy( paved) road from Brookings so not far from supplies and gas.

 I got extremely lucky in that the camp was almost full but i got space#11..which was the best i saw for tent camping. quite private..most of the other spaces are wide open. 

Hosts were not noticed..which i like, bathrooms were clean and flushing. Very near the roadwhich was surprisingly busy with large pick ups even after midnight..i guess heading to the ther river side camp sites further up into the forest.

The ice cream truck threw me until I figured out they also sold ice. This is a really big (150 sites plus yurts snd hiker/biker spots) campground just off 101. Reservations are needed during the summer. Be sure to pay attention to site length. Some tent sites are ginormous, others not. Nice bathrooms with showers. Some sites on the outside edge have ocean views. There are cable tv (really full hookups) and wi-fi. Beach is easily accessible. 2 miles ftom Brookings.

This is one of the prettiest State Park campgrounds along Oregons Southern Coast! Just off Hwy 101 and less than a mile north of Brookings, OR.

This campground has many Full hookup sites with plenty of tent sites too. All RV sites are paved with gravel around the picnic table and fire ring. Each loop has its own restrooms and showers which were well kept and very clean. A large playground is located in A loop and is a short walk really from any loop. There is an amphitheater with bench seating that ranger talks are hosted pretty much nightly. We attended one and had a great time watching a moving and learning about the local whales that frequent the coastline there. They offer Junior Ranger activities in a yurt directly across from the amphitheater. Unlike most of the Oregon State Parks we have visited it is only open for an hour 10-11 everyday, but still worth checking out with the kiddos. They do have firewood available to purchase in the campground as well for $5/bundle.

Camping here you are very close to the OR- CA border which makes trips to the Redwood National Park and Crescent City extremely easy. Trails through the Redwoods in Jedediah State Park and Ocean were great for the kiddos when we were not spending time on the beach at the campground.

We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be making a return trip!

My family and I got a Yurt here and enjoyed this park. One thing I found weird was the yurt only had a code and no key, we found it frustrating using a code to go in and out every time. It is a very large park so make sure you have a park map(I’ll add one with the pictures). The privacy is kind of there, you can still hear your neighbors, but can get privacy while on your porch. Tent sites had very little privacy like most coast places. There are only 3 pet friendly yurts so keep that in mind. There are playgrounds, and other places to do activities. There are also multiple quick ways to the beach. Showers are locker room style and are segregated male and female. One negative I saw was they don’t really prioritize cleanliness there.

Quick access to gorgeous coastal views and beach walks, yurts available, & playground for kids

Mostly R.V. s here, great facilities and free hot showers. Nearby to beautiful and lonely beaches! Stay in a yurt!

Harris beach is a big park with different types of camp sites, I stayed in a yurt.  Its also got easy access to the beach.

This RV Resort has tent sites, RV sites, Yurt, 2 Cabin appartments to rent for vacations. The park has basketball court, recreational room with pool table, TV with cable, books and board games, laundry room $1.25 to wash & $.25 to dry, rest rooms and showers $0.50 a token for 6 minutes of hot water. Come see for yourself, enjoy the Redwoods and about 15 to 25 minutes to town of Crescent City and ocean. Smith River is close by as well.

Harris Beach State Park is a large campground near Brookings, Oregon. It offers great beach access via trails directly from the campground. With hot showers (included in the campsite fees!) and clean bathrooms, this is a nice campground to spend several days at. There are a lot of RVs here, but the tent sites are in separate loops and have plenty of space for multiple tents.

Just outside of Brookings,Oregon on Rt. 101, this well kept campground was a welcome two day layover during the rainy weather that’s typical of the PNW during mid-November. My $24,no services site was C6 in the FF (first come, first served) loop. Located next to a trail to the beach, well screened with bushes and trees and close to the showers, it was the best of all.

Cool beach, nice sites, clean bathrooms, and close to Brookings and other site seeing places.

North side of Chetco River. 8 miles east of Brookings. First come First Serve. BE there early, people try to save spots for friends but you better be paying for the spot. We stayed for one night, by the next morning as we were loading up, kids were riding their bikes saw we were going to leave and one stayed by while the other went to get parents, who checked with us and went to pay for the spot we were vacating. $24 a night with water and elec. $7 for extra vehicles. Do have three cabins that are reservable through ReserveAmerica. You are close to a Redwood Natural Trailhead loop. From campground to trailhead is .8 miles, then a 1.2 mile loop. Round trip 4miles, can drive up to park at trailhead. This was the only Oregon State Park that would not allow fires at the time we visited.

Great cabins overlooking the river! This site is close enough to make day trips to the beach and Brookings for any forgotten supplies or for dinner if you do not feel like cooking. We will be returning!

Great tent camping spot. Very clean showers and restrooms that are conveniently located. The beach is just a walk away with many hiking trails to walk or climb on rocks. Brooks is just down the road and offers some awsome local shopping options.

The campground is just off the highway about one mile north of Brookings.  The hike and bike area was set apart from the regular hookups for RVs and other vehicles.  Very clean restrooms and showers. Park rangers and camp hosts visited the hike and bike area often because of all the homeless coming from the nearby city.

Great location close to Brookings.  There was some construction going on while we were there so it was a bit noisy at night.  Our site was pretty small and barely had enough room for our 6 person tent.  The bathrooms were very clean and the beach is amazing! Be prepared for some wind though and bring guy lines for your tent.

Harris Beach State Park is very popular and busy. The camp spots are close together with little privacy between them. However the RV spots have water and electric and some even sewer. The bathrooms are clean with free showers and the location on the edge of Brookings can't be beat. Same amenities as close by private parks at 1/2 the price.

General: A mix of tent sites, electric sites, FHU sites, and yurts. 

Site Quality: Varies depending on the type of site and location. All camper pads are paved but they vary in length, with some being very short. The allowed length is indicated on the map, although I cannot recall if I saw this information while making online reservations. Many in the D Loop as well as some in the C Loop are close to 101 and you will hear road noise. IMO, the best sites are A20– 24 and C1 but you have a better chance of winning the lottery than securing one of these sites (I tried at least 7-8 times beginning with the earliest date to reserve to snag one with no luck). We had two sites during our stay and both of them, while different, were wonderful. Site D5-3, a tent site, had three parking spaces in front of the site but we were able to park our campervan horizontally in the three level spaces to best take advantage of the site. Although you could not see the ocean from this site, you can hear it. This site would be good for a small group traveling together with several tents. Our other site (A27) was a FHU and very spacious with foliage on both sides providing plenty of privacy. 

Bath/Shower House: All were clean, and the showers were great – good water pressure and almost immediate hot water. 

Activities/Amenities: There are several trails that lead you to viewpoints and a gorgeous and rocky beach. There is also a bike path and bike helmet rentals are available (riders under age 16 are required to wear helmets), as well as firewood from 4-7 pm daily. There is a very nice playground. In the summer, junior ranger programs are offered for ages 6-12 and there are evening campfire programs. The scenic 12-mile Samuel Boardman State Scenic Corridor with hiking trails and overlooks; the south end is just three miles north of the park. 

We were last at this campground six years ago and loved returning as it is one of our favorite Oregon state parks.

On the second leg of a trek down the Oregon Coast (read "Southward-Bound Pt I" at South Beach State Park in Newport, Or), Harris Beach was a coastal gem. About a 1.25mi walk from the town of Brookings (Oxenfrē Public House has a mouthwatering menu; Chetco Brewing has a newly opened tap room with GREAT micro brews & stellar staff!).

Campground was full & noisier than expected with MANY large groups/ families (folks there for, or in the midst of journeying north, for the eclipse). While the bathroom stalls do not exceed three, and the two sinks are close in quarter, the paths leading to the beach are a quick escape for campers seeking a wider berth from others.

There's a beach path for every type of person at this park. Some paths are quite narrow at certain points, some are paved all the way down to the sand; there's even a gravel/ dirt hybrid sunset trail for those just looking to stroll... Let me tell you though, exploring the beach will NOT disappoint! For all the coastal crags offshore, the panorama is breathtaking in every direction.

Overall, good for one or two nights. Decently maintained facilities.

Great spot just off 101 with beautiful views. The campground is well maintained and clean. Lots of trails around to explore that take you down to the beach. Trailer and tent spots available. The place is a little crowded during the summer time but it is still a great spot right by the ocean. bathrooms and water hookups were available. This park is conveniently located north of Brookings. The beach has a paved ramp down to the beach

One of my personal favorites. The Chetco River is just steps away for fishing or water play. Nice trail nearby that winds through a young Redwood Forest. The trail along the River is really nice too. The campground is extremely well maintained and restrooms/showers are clean. Hosts take pride in caring for the campground. It’s sitting in a Myrtlewood grove. It’s also close to Brookings but you are 7 miles back away from the coast so it’s a bit warmer.
