Best RV Parks & Resorts near Hollansburg, OH

Several RV parks provide accommodations near Hollansburg, Ohio, with varied hookup options and site types. Natural Springs Resort features full hookups with 50-amp service, though sites are positioned close together with limited space between units. "The campground spots are small (too close together) and they don't enforce the quiet time curfew," noted one visitor about Natural Springs. Poor Farmer's Campground in Fletcher offers big-rig friendly sites with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups, plus convenient amenities like trash service and shower facilities. Dayton KOA Holiday in Brookville maintains 223 RV sites with both 30 and 50-amp connections across level, accessible lots. Country Outpost RV Site provides a single spot with electric hookups and basic amenities like a picnic table and trash service.

Seasonal availability varies significantly among these parks, with several operating year-round while others close during winter months. Grandpas Farm Camp Ground operates from April through November, accommodating large motorhomes with full hookup sites on gravel pads. Dump stations are available at most facilities, though some like Archway Campground offer only electric hookups with a centralized dump station rather than sewer connections at individual sites. According to one visitor, Archway's facilities are "nice, level, had a small picnic table and wooden deck" though bathrooms were noted as requiring maintenance. Most parks permit pets with standard leash requirements. Grocery stores, fuel, and supplies are accessible in nearby towns, with Richmond, Indiana providing numerous services within a short drive of the western parks. Cell service remains reliable throughout most of the region, though travelers should check individual park policies regarding generator use as restrictions vary.

    Kiser Lake State Park Campground

    Quiet Park

This park is know for the lake that is kayak and canoe friendly since it doesn’t allow any kind of boat with a motor. It also features a beach , 2 playgrounds and several hiking trails. Just be careful if you hike with dogs since some trails intersect with a nature preserve which doesn’t allow pets.

The campground itself has 20 electric sites , 56 primitive sites and 4 camper cabins. All the electric sites are pull through and all sites have a fire pit but only the electric sites come with picnic tables.

Due to off season and COVID the camp store is closed and there is no camper host or park office staff around.

We did notice lots of downed trees on the poorly marked hiking trails. Some trails just started but no maps were around and no trails were blazed. It was hard to tell where we were headed or how long a trail was. I tried using the new Detour app and it wasn’t very accurate for this park.

We did have good Verizon cell coverage.

    Muncie RV Resort

Solid choice -- Near Mounds state park, city of Anderson, and I-69

I stayed with full hookups, but no cable (don't need it, so don't know if it's available) and we weren't close enough to connect to the WIFI (only close enough to occasionally see 1 bar pop up).

Friendly folks, catch and release fishing pond, and a pond with beach for swimming. Good size playground, jump pad, and off-leash"dog park" available as well.

On AT&T, I typically had 2 bars and no problem streaming music or browsing Facebook. My fellow travelers, on Sprint, said they had poor reception. I'm guessing 1 bar.

Worth noting that my wife said the water pressure in the shower house was fairly low. (I shower in the camper, so can't comment.) Water pressure was fine at our site, though. Also worth noting that many of the back-in sites can be pull-through if you get there when it's not busy.

    Jellystone Campground-pierceton

    Expensive

We stayed here because of the discount offered through Passport America, and somehow the price was still too high. We paid $42 for a FHU pull through site (that was after the discount). However, it was a nice park and it was nice to get caught up on laundry and showers.

You can pay for laundry with the CSCPay app ($5 credit when you first sign up, so your first load is free), or you can pay with credit card. No coins taken. Laundry was nice and clean and the dryers worked excellent.

There are FHU pull through sites, or back in sites with electric only (there is a dump station available). There are also cute cabins available as well.

There are lots of things to do here at the park, but the park itself is out in the middle of nowhere. It was a really eerie feeling when we were there, because almost every spot was taken, but nobody was there. I guess people pay for the season and leave their trailers on site and come in for the weekend.

There’s a nice tent area in the back, rolling grassy area where we let our dog run around off leash since nobody was around. The lake in the middle of the park was really nice, and you can rent pedal gokarts or golf carts, or boats for paddling around the lake.

The camp store is nice, lots of food and supplies and gifts available for sale. There are trash dumpsters here but no recycling.

    Hueston Woods State Park Campground

Nice but hard to get good sites on weekends !

Limited level campground with full and electric hookups (does have WiFi). Best areas are A (full hookups and B (electric hookups) with concrete pads, some with slight slopes. First sites #s on A side do have larger slopes! C through E are electric only but are hilly grass pads. Other areas are back in the woods with no WiFi connections and primitive bathrooms/ outhouses (no showers) But park has great recreational activities. Book early for weekends which are almost non existent during the summer for A and B areas! Also only one dump station in B area.

    Archway Campground

    Quaint Stop Over

Owner is a kind old man. Escorted us to our site and helped us pull in. 30 and 50 amp hook ups available. No sewer hookups but dump station onsite. Mostly pull through sites with lots of room between campers. Great location, right off I-70. Lowes, Walmart, Menards, and Dollar General very close by. Almost every restaurant or food type that you can think of close by. Fishing pond onsite that also allows swimming. Restrooms/showers very basic and dated. 5 stars for what it is. Not fancy, 5 stars for what it is. Family owned, no frills campground. Relaxing mom and pop campground with owners that go the extra mile to accommodate guests.

Mounds State Recreation Area Campground — Brookville Lake

    Nice but bathrooms need updated

The campground and area is nice. The campers are pretty much all about the water activities. The big lake is nice and long with multiple no wake areas. There are a couple of beach areas. The camp bathrooms are concrete block and pretty clean but old and need updates. Great shower pressure! The camp sites are pretty far apart at least twice as far as in private campgrounds and so have ample room even for our two good sized dogs. The sites are black topped but narrow and short. More problematic is that most have slopes. A few too steep to level a trailer. There were more tent campers than trailer campers when we were there. Oddly the roads were one way but all of the sites were at 90 degrees from the narrow road making it difficult to back in. I did not see any pull through sites. Almost all have 30 amp electric but saw no water or sewer hook ups. Maybe half of the sites had any shade. There were just a few trails and those were pretty overgrown in July. No animal problems even though they had open trash bins. All had iron fire pits but many were old. We had noise problems the first night even though security was supposed to patrol till 2:00 am. We saw three newer playgrounds although those were a little outside of the camping areas and without any shade or bathrooms. Plenty of bathhouses with a few pit toilets around.

Mounds State Recreation Area Campground — Brookville Lake

    Beautiful trails and Lake access

Mounds State Recreation Area located near Brookville Indiana is a beautiful location with camping for tents, trailers and motorhomes. There’s plenty of outdoor recreation available with trails and water access to Brookville Lake. About a dozen of the campsites have full hookups with 50amp power, water and sewer. These sites are big rig friendly. When booking online be cautious of site grade as many of the sites in the original loops have a moderate grade and are uneasy for motorhomes to level. The camp store has both ice and firewood available as well as souvenirs and snacks. Be cautious when making reservations as there is also a similar park with the same name located in northern Indiana.
