What to do

What campers like
Cabin privacy levels: At Moonshine Creek Campground, cabin accommodations vary from secluded to more social settings. "The sites are close together BUT so skillfully incorporated into the architecture that you really don't notice. Cute cabins to rent and secluded tent sites, all with a stream running through the middle of the campground," explains Shelly S.
Creek access: Many campers appreciate direct creek access from their cabins. "We stayed on site 50. This campground is absolutely beautiful! Our site was very spacious right on the creek," shares Mary B. about Indian Creek Campground, which provides creek-side accommodations with fishing access.
Cabin amenities at Creekwood Farm: Visitors appreciate the well-maintained facilities and attention to detail. "The bathrooms were amazing, individual bathrooms, very roomy and oh so clean... There is also a creek running through the back of the property and there are many sites along the creek," notes Joe B., who considers it "one of our top 5 campgrounds."
Seasonal activities: Different seasons bring unique experiences to cabin stays near Lake Junaluska. "Enjoyed a winter camping trip to this peaceful area," reports Penny C. about Davidson River Campground, highlighting that some cabins remain open year-round despite seasonal closures at other facilities.
What you should know
Cabin size variations: Cabin options range from small rustic structures to larger accommodations with multiple rooms. At Stonebridge RV Resort, "The Premium Creekside sites along the creek have plenty of room behind your site to enjoy your site and the creek. The pull through sites, though, are so close the sewer hookup is literally right beside the next site's picnic table," warns Sonya P.
Reservation timing: Advanced booking is essential during peak seasons. "Book ahead-the guy said they'd been completely full since June," advises Nancy about Lake Powhatan's cabins, underscoring the competition for accommodations during summer and fall.
