Nice campground not far out of town (from RTP)

Nice big sites cut into the trees with pretty good privacy.  Clean bathrooms and showers and easy access to the lake from most loops of the campground.

AT&T coverage was a couple bars, enough to get connected to email and check in with the rest of the world.

Nice Family Camping

My family and I come to this park often for little reunion trips and for family camping get aways. It is such a nice park and the spaces are spread out beautifully. Sometimes you get a loud neighbor out here in the summer months but there is a noise curfew and almost everyone is respectful of it.…

3rd times a charm!

I have camped here 3 times and loved it every single time. The camp sites are large and have room for two mid size tents. You can reserve a camp site or do first come. We have gotten the water front camp sites each time and loved it. We have a boat and kayaks so leave them in the water and enjoy…

About This Campground

TENT, TRAILER AND RV Poplar Point offers 579 sites for RV and tent camping; 363 sites have water and electric hookups. Each site includes a picnic table, grill, and lantern holder. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located. Please note that all sites at Poplar Point Loop E are walk-up and can be booked only when you arrive at the campground BACKPACK SITES For those who prefer a more primitive campsite, New Hope Overlook offers 24 campsites nestled in the woods. These sites range from 100 yards to a half mile from the parking lot. Each site has a picnic table, grill, and lantern holder. Toilets and drinking water are provided nearby. GROUP SITES Two areas offer sections for camping clubs and other groups. Parkers Creek has six campsites available for group tent camping. Vista Point also offers five group tent campsites. Drinking water and showers are located nearby. GROUP RV SITES Vista Point offers 50 campsites for group RV camping. All sites contain water and electric hookups. Although these sites are open year-round, water to the sites is turned off in the winter. Showers, restrooms, trash containers and a dump station are conveniently located.
