Great place
Larger camp ground than expected. Enjoyed our stay.
Awesome place
Very quiet and beautiful campground
Great family atmosphere
I have been going to this campground since I was a kid. I always enjoy it. I started taking my nephew a few years ago and he loves it too. This past month we had a big group with us for their first time and they want to go back.
Great Place Outside the City
Spent two nights there. Campground is county run so the park ranger regularly patrols, making it feel safe. Also, a couple of local county sheriff deputies stay there too. There are several playgrounds for kids to play, along with an open field by the lake. Site are shaded by trees. The bath houses aren’t bad either.
Cane Creek
We really like this camp Ground! Need to plan a head to get a site But well worth the effort

Nice county park!
Always a great getaway from the bustle of city life. Day use area can be packed in the summer but they have plenty of rules to keep the park beautiful and orderly. The camping side has scattered tent and group sights with some large wooded RV sights and clean cabins. Bath house is very well kept too. Fishing is typically outstanding for bass, cats, crappie, and carp. Equestrian trails are everywhere and are good for hiking, a few trails are a bit rough for bicycles though
Beautiful county campground
Theres a variety of sites, full hookup, permanent, handicap.. Lots of wooded sites. Water spouts between sites for each campground to have water hookup. Fire ri g and picnic table at each site and sites are decent size. Lake is beautiful. There's 3 playgrounds, a beach, plenty of benches to sit and look out onto the water.. Shower houses are a little dated,, but they are in good working condition and very clean. There is only 1 dumpsation.

Great time
We’ve been several times to kayak, fish, hike, and camp. Always had a blast with the kids there. Never leave disappointed.
Cane Creek and it’s amenities.
We are very close to Cane Creek it is a great place to get away for a few hours. The area is beautiful and amazing place to kayak they have a nice kayak ramp.
Great outdoor fun!
Beautiful place to camp, hike, and kayak! I don’t live far from Cane Creek, so I take my two labs there almost every weekend for a good hike through the woods and they LOVE IT! A few of the trails are right on the lake and the dogs love to hop in and cool off. I load up my kayak once a month or so and paddle around the lake for hours. Trails, shelter areas, and bathrooms are always well taken care of.

Great clean campground
We have stayed at Cane Creek 2x now and enjoy the park so much. Lake, hiking trails and nice wooded campsites with fire rings and close proximity to bath houses. Playground for kids, little store, friendly staff. Beach swimming area closed due to Covid but looks nice. Park on other side of lake has picnic shelters, more trails, frisbee golf and kayak rentals that will open after Covid. Only problem is that both times we visited there was a storm and power went out for hours. Can’t really do anything about that!
Clean, safe and friendly
Campground has trails and fishing in walking distance. It is always packed. No alcohol permitted.
Week end campground
Not bad for weekends, Not very good on kayak launch prices.
Maiden voyage
This campground was recommended to us for our maiden camping trip with our new RV. We were very pleasantly surprised. Camp site was large, they had two bathhouses, camp store and even a mini golf course. The lake was larger than expected with a beach area. Only negative was that they had the trash dumpsters scattered throughout the park and we had the misfortune of having one at the front of our site and someone had put fish guts in it, which made for a rank stench at our site. We made notes of which sites to avoid as most are good. Some sites even have sewer although ours did not. We were at site 34. All in all it was a great first trip in our new RV!
Family Friendly
Family friendly campground with nice amenities and staff! We have been several times before, and this weekend did not disappoint. Just be mindful when booking sites near the Lakeside Lodge, they book parties, so it’s a little busier & noisier than our preference.
Cane Creek Park
Sites were easy to access, full hook-up, easy check-in. Quiet times were honored, which was a big plus. First time I ever slept in until 10:00 am. My site was respected, considering I was next to the water/beach area. The beach area was closed for the season, but it was a nice view anyway.
Undeveloped
If you like to fish and thats it then you'll enjoy this campground because thats really all they have to do.
lovely campground
we tent camped here before and it was lovely.
great family campground
I’ve taken several trips here with my family and have enjoyed the quick escape from the city. Great group sites as well.
A Great Place for the Whole Family.
Located just outside historic Waxhaw NC, Cane Creek is part of the NC Soil Conservative Sites. They offer day passes,$4.00 per car where you can launch you kayak canoe or fishing boat. If you like Bass Fishing, they rank as one of the best spots around. They have swimming areas for both day users and one for campers. This really is a gem within Union Co NC. The campground is on the other side of the lake. They have camping for RV’s, Cabin Rentals and tent sites for either large groups or individuals. The hiking trail is beautiful and takes you around the whole lake. Watch for horses, as this is a great place for riders too.

A gem close to home...
Great spot only 45min from Charlotte.
Cane Creek county Park
This review is probably not representative of what will be many people’s experience or opportunity, as I visited in November in the off season, albeit an unusually warm weekday! Cane Creek Park is a county park that is of state park caliber. It is located south and east of the town of waxhaw, and an easy drive from Charlotte. It is a large park on both sid s of a large lake, beautifully maintained, clearly with a variety of family recreational activities that are surely heavily used in the high season. The park offers everything from day use, to car and rv camping, to hike in tent sites and wilderness group areas, to cabins. This review is for the hike in tent sites, which are large, well spaced, heavily wooded and private, with lake access for good fishing and paddling. There are restroom and shower facilities in walking distance, though not at the campsites themselves. This is a simpler and quieter camping opportunity than the drive in sites. In fact, no one else was in this section of the campground on this fine autumn day, yet the weather was beautiful and the setting so peaceful. I would recommend this campsite location for fall camping

Nice county park
This campground is owned by Union County, NC with a good rate for residents. As such, it can be difficult to get in at times and usually requires a reservation well in advance.
The facilities are very well maintained with a good access road sitting on a lake. There is a walking trail from the campground to the other side of the lake which is a day use area with a beach, shelters, canoe rentals, etc.
We stayed here in a travel trailer.
