    Letchworth State Park Campground

A little gem with a lot to do

Cabin campers here at letchworth for the past two years. We stumbled on cabin camping at letchworth due to weekends being booked for almost the entire summer for tent spots. the cabins are spacious, with bunk beds, a stove, fridge, and a fire place. i thought they might be close together, yet they were all pretty private, with a fire ring and picnic table. There was a beautiful updated playground, and clean bathrooms. Last summer they had just opened the new nature center with guided hikes, and activities all summer long.

Great for the falls, swimming, hiking, white water rafting, kayaking and so much more!

    Flint Creek Campgrounds

Great activities, friendly hosts, full hook ups!

Close to wine country you will find this gem of a family campground. Dog and kid friendly with activities such as wagon rides, arts and crafts, movie night and various themed weekend events. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming during our entire stay. An easy back in site with full hookups (B10) backed against a row of trees and a field that provided much entertainment of squirrels and birds. There is a camp store with very reasonable prices and accepts credit cards. Wood ($4) and ice ($2) are also for sale. There are two small cabins to rent along with a couple of family tent sites. The bathrooms/showers were clean near the camp store. Amenities include a pool, mini golf ($1/person), two playgrounds, horseshoes, a recreation center with games and movies, basketball and shuffle board. There are many seasonal campers at this campground, but all seemed friendly and welcoming as well. It truly seemed like one big happy family there.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Cute cabins and amazing views

We stayed in a cute cabin with running water, a stove, and a heater for cold nights! Outside we had a picnic table and a campfire pit. The park itself has amazing hiking with awesome views. Highly recommend!

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Beautiful place

Letchworth is absolutely stunning. The views are beautiful, however the scenic areas are at least a 10 minute drive from the campground. The park is massive.

There is a huge variation in site sizes. We lucked out and got a large site with privacy and an area for the kids to run around, however the site directly across from us was little more than the gravel pad and fire pit. Some of the sites are right on top of each other. Great for group camping, not so much if you want any privacy.

Only two out of the 8 loops (200 and 700 loops) have updated bathrooms (single toilet with handheld showers in half of the bathrooms). The others loops have older facilities with three traditional toilet stalls and two showers.

We loved our site but would’ve preferred to stay in a loop with the updated bath houses as we have younger children and a tent trailer.

All sites have electricity. Some loops are pet friendly, some are pet free. The camp store has a good selection of necessities, albeit expensive for discount brands. The pool is 4-5 miles down the road from the camping area.

    Would absolutely camp here again.

Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill

    Wonderful!

Great secluded tent camping (recomend numbers 7 and 8), cabins are new and ample beds and space. Camper camping is close to everything, but less privacy. Numerous pavilions that are wonderful for parties or weddings. Stunning overlook that is breathtaking (also great for weddings). Hiking, bike trails, fishing pond, playground, open fields for sports, much more!!! Great for photo shoots, weekend stress getaways etc. I live close by and visit a few times a month.

    Conesus Lake Campground

Camping with amenities, close to fun

This is your typical Mom and Pop family campground, there are rules to follow but they do not hinder on your experience. They have a well stocked camp store, boat rentals, golf cart rentals, an indoor heated pool, jump pad, playgrounds, a hiking trail and frisbee golf. The bottom portion of the campground has mostly seasonal campers and cabins. You do have to go up a pretty steep hill to get to the 'transient' camping section, but there are many pull through, level, full hook up sites to choose from. ( We had site 250 and really liked it) The bathrooms were toilet/shower combos and were very clean. Attractions close by is a drive-in with 4 different screens, many places to eat, parks ( Vitale Park was really nice), a fun center with mini golf, go carts, batting cages, laser tag and arcade. We also experienced the local flea market in Avon, NY. It's HUGE!

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Good Camping inside the Park

The campgrounds are conveniently located inside the Park so easy to get to the amazing falls towards the south as well as the dam in the north. We were in loop 300 which does not allow pets. Decent bathhouses right opposite our site. Our site was a gravel drive with a grassy area containing the picnic table and fire ring. Unfortunately due to rain the day before the grass was extremely muddy which make it hard to get to the fire ring. There was also white a lot of noise from adjacent sites, we could hear everyone's conversations and screaming kids. There was a laundry facility but no dishwashing.

Lakeview Camping Area — Fair Haven Beach State Park

    We decided to move on

We drove through here but didn’t stay. The non-electric sites were pretty much all on hilly areas, most would be impossible for an RV to get level, though there were a few that would have worked.

We drove through the “bluffs” loop (electric sites), thinking it would be beautiful and look out on the water, but it was a nightmare for us, with huge RVs jam packed side by side like a parking lot.

The lakeview loop was nicer, but still too many RVs all in a row. There are also cute cabins here for rent.

When we were there the city was under a water advisory- all water had to be boiled before any kind of use. There was a dump station, and trash bins but no recycling (I’m disappointed in the lack of recycling at NY State campgrounds!) So, we moved on to Selkirk SP and stayed there instead.

Guide to Greece

Cabin accommodations near Greece, New York vary from simple structures with minimal amenities to deluxe models with modern conveniences. Most cabin rentals operate seasonally from spring through fall, with a typical season spanning May through October. Prices generally range from $50-125 per night depending on amenities and location. The region's hardwood forests create natural shade around many cabin sites, while proximity to the Finger Lakes offers water recreation opportunities.

What to Do

Lake activities at Webster Park: Webster Park cabins provide easy access to Lake Ontario, where visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, and nature walks. "Tucked back in the woods very close too lake Ontario very short distance to city shopping restaurant etc everything at your fingertip," notes one Webster Park visitor.

Hiking trail access: Many cabins connect directly to trail systems. "We stay on the outer ring on that side of loop as it gives access to the woods and trails behind the sites," shares a Webster Park camper about cabin placement. Trail difficulty levels range from easy walking paths to moderate woodland routes.

Entertainment venues: For families wanting entertainment options, cabin rentals at Six Flags Darien Lake Campground offer theme park access. "This is a large campground. Walking distance to the theme park. Campground fees include admission to the theme park," explains one visitor about the cabin-to-park convenience.

What Campers Like

Privacy between cabins: Cabins at many sites offer good separation from neighbors. One visitor to Red's Twilight on the Erie RV Resort shared: "Barb and Red are fantastic hosts. They are accommodating and entertaining. Live music on Friday Night (weather permitting) and plenty of activities for the family on the weekends."

Clean facilities: Maintained restrooms and shower houses rank high on camper priorities. A Webster Park visitor reported: "Clean and well maintained .... will definitely visit again." Most cabin locations include centralized bathroom facilities within walking distance.

Seasonal operating schedules: Cabins at Letchworth State Park Campground typically operate from May through mid-October. "Not technically in the Finger Lakes but still one of the most beautiful parts of Western New York State. Splurge and eat at the Glen Iris Inn!" shares a regular visitor who recommends planning cabin stays around the fall colors.

What You Should Know

Limited Wi-Fi availability: Many cabin locations have spotty cell service. "Cell phone coverage is poor by Verizon and T-Mobile, and there is no WiFi, and no camp store (but the town of Webster is nearby)," reports one Webster Park visitor.

Cabin furnishing levels: Cabins at Conesus Lake Campground range from basic to fully equipped. "This is your typical Mom and Pop family campground, there are rules to follow but they do not hinder on your experience. They have a well stocked camp store, boat rentals, golf cart rentals, an indoor heated pool," mentions one visitor detailing the amenities beyond basic cabin features.

Reservation requirements: Most locations require advance booking, especially for summer weekends. Reservation windows typically open 6-12 months in advance for peak season dates. Holiday weekends often require minimum stays of 2-3 nights.

Tips for Camping with Families

Playground access: When booking a cabin with children, check proximity to play areas. "Nice central playground and bathroom/shower house. There is hiking in the park, lots of nice woods, big field for playing games/sports," notes a Webster Park camper regarding family-friendly cabin locations.

Activity planning: Cabins at Stay Bristol Woodlands offer family programming. "We have been staying at this Jewel of a campground for years. The new owners have brought this place to a new level Great amenities, real Wi-Fi and a great pool," shares a repeat visitor who appreciates the family activities.

Safety considerations: Many cabins have fire rings within 15-20 feet of the structure. Families should bring basic safety supplies and establish boundaries for children around water features and fire areas.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: When choosing between cabin or RV options, consider the terrain. "Almost all of the sites are not even close to level. Not a big issue with a fifth wheel but a real hassle with a motorcoach," notes one visitor to Red's Twilight on the Erie about transitioning from RV to cabin camping.

Seasonal availability differences: Cabins often book faster than RV sites. "We've stayed at a lot of KOA sites over the years and this one is as pleasant as expected. It is an excellent campground for families," shares a visitor comparing cabin and RV accommodations at the same location.

Access considerations: For those with mobility challenges, verify cabin entrance designs. Most cabins require navigating 2-4 steps, and bathroom facilities may be 50-250 feet from cabin sites depending on the campground layout.
