Best RV Parks & Resorts near Sunland Park, NM

Several RV parks operate in the Sunland Park area with full hookup services. Fort Bliss RV Park provides concrete pads with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections for military personnel, while El Paso West RV Park in Anthony offers big-rig friendly sites. A camper noted, "The sites are level, but very close together. Lots of dust since this is the desert." Mission RV Park features pull-through gravel sites with 50-amp service, on-site market, and permits fires at designated sites. Hacienda RV Resort in Las Cruces maintains 113 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp service on level concrete pads, though sites are positioned closely together.

Interstate 10 provides direct access to most RV parks in the region, with many properties situated within easy reach of highway exits. Love's RV Hookup in Santa Teresa offers six pull-through sites with full hookups and a convenient dump station nearby. Cell service varies significantly throughout the area, with parks closer to El Paso and Las Cruces reporting stronger signals. Nearly all parks welcome pets but have specific restrictions and designated dog areas, with Hacienda RV Resort featuring what one visitor described as "one of the best dog run areas I've found at an RV park." Seasonal considerations are minimal as most parks operate year-round due to the mild desert climate, though summer temperatures frequently exceed 100°F.

    Hacienda RV Resort

    Beautiful and relaxing

This is an RV resort, not to be confused either an RV park. Lots of large pull through sites, a few back in. Water, sewer, electric- 30/50 amp. WiFi, cable TV, patio with fireplace and hot tub. There used to be an exercise room, meeting rooms, copy & fax service, & laundry. The bathroom and showers are clean and nice. Plus, they have a dog wash area and one of the best dog run areas I’ve found at an RV park or resort! There is actually room for the dogs to run.

    Hacienda RV Resort

    Hacienda RV Resort, NM

Located in Las Cruces New Mexico, Hacienda RV resort is conveniently situated right off of interstate 10. Their main office is closed currently due to COVID precautions, but they are still very accommodating. The sites are small, but have everything you need with level concrete pads and full hook ups. They have a large laundry room. Make sure you use the ones closest to the door (on the right) because they are newer and don’t leave your clothes soaking wet. The dog park is large and has several entrances- it also provides waste bags and a garbage can, which is a plus. The bathrooms are private and include a toilet and shower- clean!!

    Mission RV Park

Nice CG for Convenient Overnight Stay

We stayed one night (May 30, 2022). The is a nice, easy access CG with large, level pull through and back in gravel sites. It is located at the I-10 and 375 interchange next to a trucking container storage facility– there is a lot of road noise and trucking activity, but no bother. The WiFi was good as was cell service. There are a number of activities available: clubhouse, indoor swimming, tennis and basketball courts, playground, horseshoes, biking and walking (within the RV park). We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It was convenient for an overnight stay. We would stay here again.

Aguirre Spring Recreation Area and Campground

    Gorgeous 360 degree views

Beautiful spot. More amenities than I expected. Prettier than most national park campgrounds. The road in is fully paved but it is winding… a sign out front warns that trailers >23’ are not recommended. We had no trouble with our 19’ trailer. The site has fire ring, grill, trash can, covered picnic table, stone paving. Really nice. There are pull through and back in sites. We came mid August… there were only two other camping sites occupied. We enjoyed the sunset then rain set in for the entire night. It really is a gorgeous site. Way more amenities than you’d expect for boondocking.

    Love's RV Hookup-Santa Teresa NM 817

    perfect for my personal preferences

pulled into the loves parking lot that I had scoped out on Google maps. pulled directly into the first lane of pumps with the ass end blocking traffic. And from there, I could just pull forward and back into my spot full of fuel.

In the morning I made a reservation so I can stay here another night as well. I was just going to stay one night. But I can get Propane within walking distance of my truck and the subway shop isn't much farther. Maybe I'll check out the laundry facilities, too. I've already filled the freshwater tank and the water seems fine. Good thing I do not need to dump my black tank because even with the extension, I don't think my hoses would reach. The flaw in the design is that all the sites are back in and the pedestals and sewer ports are behind the RV when parked. Don't worry though because there is a dump station even closer than the propane refill. All six sites orient each camper pretty much due east west with the passenger side to the south. Actually, putting a sewer connection at each site is overkill when there is a nearby dump station, that you can use on your way in or your way out. For one night stops that's all you need. The street noise is tolerable. All the big trucks go to the opposite side of this complex. There were distant train noises and I could barely see the tops of a few cars over the western horizon. Getting the power turned on took a couple phone calls and unintelligible conversations over the intercom setup at the kiosk. I got $72 of propane and the attendant even carried a full 20 and 40 over to my site. While in the office paying for that I got them to turn the power back on, which was turned off at noon because yesterdays stay was over and todays had not started. This gas station and“travel stop” does not sell beer?!?!?!?!? Make sure to ask for your favorite adult beverage, maybe they will get some

    Hacienda RV Resort

    Nothing Special

Our RV GPS and Waze brought us right to this campground (CG) off I-10. Check-in was friendly and efficient. We were then escorted to back-in 186 with FHUs. When we originally made reservations, we selected site 181. At check-in, they were puzzled about how we knew about this site. The site was on the CG map and on the end of a row, so we asked for it. We were told that site 181 is reserved for their Regional Manager. Even though the site was empty, we were moved to 186. This site was long enough for our 40’ rig, but we had to park our F450 angled adjacent to the site. The sites here are also very close together. Water and electric sits pretty much centered on the gravel pad, with the sewer more towards the back. With our 5th wheel parked all the way back in the site, we needed 15’ of sewer hose. There was no picnic table nor fire pit. We had a clear shot of the northern sky for Starlink and 5 bars on Verizon. Their WiFi was usable. The water pressure here is really good, so we used a reducer. They have a long fenced dog run that runs along the south side of the CG and is in sections. Our dogs really enjoyed this dog area. They have a good-sized laundry room that you pay using your cell phone. Washing cost$2 and drying$2 for 45 min. Pay attention when pulling out on the main road near the office. We almost got hit by an oncoming vehicle turning left when departing the RV park. There’s a curve, and the locals drive this shortcut road well over the speed limit. The CG served its purpose for us to visit an old friend for a few days.

    Las Cruces KOA

    Beautiful views

Easy access off the I10 and very close to town and stores and restaurants . The campground is set up on a hill providing beautiful 180 degree views. The staff person in the office was wonderful, professional and helpful. There is a nicely stocked store. The park is very clean and the utilities were in great shape and easy to connect. There is a concrete pad assuring a level site. The picnic table was the nicest that we have seen, it was very clean, in perfect condition and made from great material. It is a lovely campground and we’ll be back.

Guide to Sunland Park

RV camping options near Sunland Park sit at roughly 3,700-4,000 feet elevation in the Chihuahuan Desert region. Located where Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico converge, this area experiences mild winters with occasional freezes and summer temperatures regularly exceeding 100°F. Cell reception varies considerably throughout the region, with stronger signals typically found closer to El Paso and Las Cruces urban centers.

What to do

Visit Old Mesilla Historic District: Only 40 minutes from Sunland Park, this preserved 19th-century town offers adobe buildings, local shops and restaurants. A camper at Las Cruces KOA noted: "Took a short drive to La Mesilla and the farmers market in Las Cruces—definitely recommend both. White Sands is also not too far if you're up for a day trip."

Outdoor recreation at Fort Bliss: Military ID holders can access base recreation facilities while staying nearby. "There is lots to see and do in the area, and we're glad we stayed a few nights to check it out," shared a visitor at Fort Bliss RV Park.

Enjoy resort amenities: Several parks offer activities beyond basic camping. "We enjoyed cornhole, basketball, tetherball, and the playground. The store was well stocked," remarked a Las Cruces KOA guest who appreciated the amenities during their stay.

What campers like

Clean bathrooms and facilities: Campers consistently mention well-maintained restrooms and showers. A visitor at Hacienda RV Resort observed: "The bathroom and showers are clean and nice. Plus, they have a dog wash area and one of the best dog run areas I've found at an RV park or resort! There is actually room for the dogs to run."

Mountain views: The scenic backdrop of nearby mountain ranges enhances the camping experience. "Good view of Organ Mountains. Park is clean and well maintained," mentioned a guest staying at Sunny Acres RV Park.

Indoor pools and recreation: Several RV campgrounds near Sunland Park feature indoor swimming pools for year-round use. A camper at Mission RV Park shared: "They also have an indoor pool and hot tub that are open until 8pm!"

What you should know

Site spacing varies significantly: Many parks place units close together. One camper noted: "The sites here are also very close together. Water and electric sits pretty much centered on the gravel pad, with the sewer more towards the back."

Military-only facilities: Some of the best-rated RV parks are restricted. A reviewer at Fort Bliss RV Park explained: "NOTE: Park is only for Active, Reservist, Retired Military members, their dependents, and blood relatives being escorted."

Road noise considerations: Many RV campgrounds near Sunland Park are positioned near highways. "Located right next to I-10 and along a road. Unfortunately, it is very noisy all night from traffic. Make sure you get a spot on the far side," advised a Hacienda RV Resort visitor.

Reservation policies vary: Some parks don't take reservations. "The only down side is it's first come, first serve no reservations," mentioned a Fort Bliss RV Park camper, highlighting the importance of calling ahead.

Tips for camping with families

Look for parks with dedicated play areas: Some RV campgrounds near Sunland Park offer facilities specifically for children. "The kids enjoyed cornhole, basketball, tetherball, and the playground," noted a family staying at Las Cruces KOA.

Consider age restrictions: Several parks cater primarily to older visitors. A reviewer at El Paso West RV Park mentioned: "This 55+ park is in town so close to shopping. Even though this is 55+ children and grandchildren are welcome."

Tent camping options limited: Most facilities primarily serve RVs with few tent sites. "This would be a good place for RV camping, but not tent camping," noted a Mission RV Park visitor who found the grounds crowded and noisy for tent setup.

Tips from RVers

Water pressure management: Many parks have high water pressure that requires regulators. "Water pressure was a bit high but with a regulator it was fine," advised a camper at Siesta RV Park, highlighting the importance of bringing your own regulator.

Pull-through accessibility: Several parks offer drive-through sites for easier positioning. A reviewer described Fort Bliss: "Totally designed with pulling through in mind. All sites are concrete and full hook up. Excellent over the air TV reception."

Extended stay options: Monthly rates available for longer-term needs. "Rates are about $464 / month," noted a camper at Sunny Acres, which provides a more economical option for those staying multiple weeks.
