Several RV parks serve the Scribner area with options for short and extended stays. Bob Hardy RV Park in Blair provides water and electric hookups on level sites for $15-17.50 per night with a 5-day maximum stay. The park includes eight RV spots with 30-amp service, picnic tables, and grills. A visitor commented that it offers "decent park and great price" with "electric hookups, grills and picnic tables at every site." River Land Campground near Columbus accommodates big rigs with full hookup sites including 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Pine Grove RV Park in Greenwood contains 130 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp options, while Czechland Lake Recreation Area provides more basic RV camping with electric-only sites.

Most RV parks in the region maintain seasonal operations, with several closing between November and April. Free dump stations are available at select locations, including Bob Hardy RV Park where a reviewer noted the "shower house could have been cleaner but you can't beat the price." West Omaha/NE Lincoln KOA Holiday remains open year-round with full hookup sites, providing a reliable winter option when other parks have closed. Navigation to smaller community parks may require advance planning as some facilities have limited spaces - Howells Community Park offers just six RV spots with shared water connections between neighboring sites. Pets are permitted at all surveyed campgrounds, though fire restrictions vary by location with Bob Hardy prohibiting open fires while other parks provide fire rings and sell firewood onsite.

      Czechland Lake Recreation Area

Great first come first serve campground

This is a nice small campground that is well taken care of. We stayed at site number 8 which may be one of the more unlevel spots. The passenger side of our 5th wheel was about 7" lower than driver side and rear of fifth wheel was about 3" lower than front before we levelled out.

      Pros:

-Well maintained walking trails that are perfect for dogs

-Most sites have 30 and 50 amp hookups

-Fire rings and picnic tables at most sites

-$18 a night for electric hookups

      -Quiet

      Cons:

      -Some sites are very unlevel

      -No water or dump station

Branched Oak Lake State Rec Area

      Amazing Views from Our Campsite

Once we exited off I 80 per campground(CG) instructions, we traveled following our RV GPS, WAZE, and Google Maps on the back roads to the state recreation area(SRA) and specifically the South Shore CG. We saw the South Shore sign that was somewhat hidden by trees and also a sign for the dump station and potable water. We pulled into the dump station for potable water and to dump what we had from our overnight stay as we were going into back-in site 80 with only electric(50/30/20 AMP). There was a small unmanned check-in gate where we got our Nebraska State Park Pass, but no one was around to stamp our pass so we followed the signage to site 80, which was a fairly easy back-in. We were amazed at the lake view as this site sits up on a hill about 100 yards from the water. Our name was on the post as we had online reservations(there are some first-come-first-serve sites here). We could have put out our satellite, but we got a multitude of OTA channels out of Lincoln, NE. We also got 3 bars on Verizon and 2 bars on T-Mobile. The South Shore CG has a mix of FHUs, 50 AMP, and 30 AMP-only RV sites. Note that when the utilities state Electric Plus, there is no water at the site, just 50 AMP electric plus a 30/20 AMP as well. There are also tent areas within the SRA campgrounds. The sites in general are spaced so you are not right on top of your neighbor. However, the sites that run on both sides of site 80 have no one behind with lots of space down to the lake. This was a very nice CG that we would not hesitate to visit again.

      Neligh Park Campground

      Quiet camping in the city

Neligh Park campground features level concrete pads with gravel in front of each site. Every site includes a picnic table along with electric and water hookups. There is an on-site dump station that costs$2.00 if you are not staying at the park. Camping is $15 per night. Some sites are reservable online, while others can be paid for when you arrive.  The sites do not offer much shade as the trees planted around them are still small. The campground is in a quiet part of town.

The city park is adjacent to the campground. The city park has a newer, large playground, sand volleyball courts, and a walking trail that loops around the lake. There is also a community Aquatic Center on the premises that features a pool and a large water slide.

There appears to be a modern restroom building near the newer part of the park. There are a few fast food restaurants located a short drive away from the campground.

West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA Holiday

      Great pizza.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The bathrooms & laundry room are clean,a little outdated. The pull through sites seem to be all gravel/stone. Our back in site had a patio, fire pit and nice patio furniture. Looked like a lot to do for the kids. The camp store is well stocked with RV supplies and parts. After driving all day, then doing laundry it was nice to get a pizza and relax.

West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA Holiday

      The Premium Sites are FANTASTIC

We stayed here overnight on our way out west, so we didn't have big expectations. We are fairly new to pulling a 5th wheel, so we wanted an easy pull-through site plus we wanted it to be paved. Well there are 2 premium sites - we stayed in site# 89. It was HEAVEN! Not only was it paved, but also had a huge patio with a table and Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit with additional seating. The site was situated such that our "good side" was facing the trees, away from the rest of the campground. We have a 43' 5th Wheel plus our truck, and there was plenty of space. That is the best setup we've had so far. We didn't have time to use any of the amenities, and are not traveling with kids, so I can't speak for how good it was in that regard.

      Dead Timber State Rec Area

      Peaceful RV Spot

Dead Timber SRA is located between an oxbow lake and the Elkhorn River. It has a small number of both 30 amp electric RV pads along with basic tent camping spots. RV pads are either gravel or grass, while tent camping sites are located on a mowed area along the lake. Plenty of space between sites.

The area is peaceful and seems like a bit of a a hidden gem not too far from Lincoln, Columbus or Fremont. The lake is nice for kayaking and fishing, plus there is a lot of wildlife to view in the area.

Vault toilets are available, but there are no shower facilities, 50 amp hookups, or dump stations. The only water hydrant I could find seemed to be in use by the campground hosts, so plan on filling your water tank somewhere before arriving.

      Washington County Fairgrounds

      Perfect overnight stop

This campground is not really designed as an actual campground. It is for fair workers to hook up to during the county fair but is available for use by the general public at all other times. It gets 4 stars not because of any amenities, but because it is a safe uncrowded overnight location that is perfect to stay at with fuel and food nearby and a large area to walk pets.

Pros: Easy to move rigs in and out of, 30&50amp hookups, perfect for an overnight stop right off the highway if you don't want to stay in a Walmart parking lot. Pretty flat spots

Cons: Not built for actual camping (no fire rings/picnic tables/paved sites/bathrooms), sewer dump on location but unavailable for general population use, if you plug into the 30 amp receptacle it is $20 a night, if you plug into the 50amp receptacle it is $25 a night, each pedestal has both plugs. Some may say that is steep for a place like this, but it helps keep it maintained.

      Christiensen Field

Large gravel lot with water & electric - ok for an overnight

I stopped by this campground and found it was nearly empty, with only one other camper in the lot. The entire area is one giant gravel parking lot with no shade. The spots are located very close together, but it's rarely full (except during events at the Main Arena next door) so you'll have room to spread out. Each site has electric and water hookups. I read somewhere that there is a dump station here but I didn't see it.

There are no showers or flush toilets. The only bathrooms available are port-a-potties located in the middle of the lot. There is some kind of agriculture equipment nearby that creates a constant humming sound which some might find annoying. The campground is very close to the airport, but I did not notice any airport noise.

While there is nothing within walking distance, there are several commercial restaurants and stores that are an easy drive from this location.

I would only stay here if I needed an overnight spot while traveling.

      Wildwood Lake

      Great overnight stop over

Pulled in fairly late. No problem finding a spot in the dark. The place was pretty empty due to the cold weather I'm sure. Bathroom was clean and stocked, local police drove through but did not impose, and dumpster available for trash

Weather preparedness: Severe weather can occur with limited shelter options.
