    Area One Campground

    Lake view, ample sites

Branched Oak-Area One Campground is 2 1/2 miles north of Malcom Nebraska. There are many different areas offering over 330 pads and tons of primitive camping. In Area One we had full hook ups and a level site. There were picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. The shower house/restrooms were clean. There is a swim beach, playground, and fishing in this area. We were here during the week so it wasn't to busy. We were told the weekends could get rowdy. We enjoyed a beautiful night with a campfire and coyotes howling.

    Pretty park

Nice place to stop for the night in the heat. Stopped because we needed electric for the air conditioner. We are at a level concrete pad site. Water is available but not at our site. There are two long-term campers here with permits. Some sites have concrete, others are grass. $15 for the night. Very quiet on a Sunday night.

Nice quick stop for 1 night while driving through in Lincoln, NE area

Nice quick stop for 1 night while driving through in Lincoln, NE area. I tented 1 night while traveling through the area on a summer roadtrip 2015. Easily located off of Interstate-80. All the amenities you'd need for tenting or RV hookups. Affordable. It is in a Nebraska State Park but the $5 day pass wasn't a deterrent. Quick drive into Lincoln as well as easy interstate travel to Omaha, NE if you're passing through.

    Lincoln!

Nice okay ground for children/Grand kiddos! Large level site, full hookup. Great weather compared to Texas! Near I 80, lots of traffic noise, will stay here again.

    Camp A Way Campground

Nice campground and Very kid friendly

This is a very nice campground right off I-80 at the Lincoln downtown exit. My son and I stayed here for a week until he could move into his apartment. It was very clean and well kept. We had full hook-ups and cell service and wifi. They have a large off leash dog run which was so nice. There were so many things for younger kids to do. I wish I would have known about this place when mine were younger. We travel a lot and I have to say for a private campground this is a nice one. As for the price, for a family with kids they have lots of activities. Wish we would have gotten a deluxe patio site-maybe next time.

    Camp A Way Campground

    Nice spot in the heartland

This was a great rv park. Yes next to the interstate was a bit noisy but it’s easily tuned out. We stayed late in the season so not much was going on in the park, lots of campers but most stayed inside??? Lots of stuff for the kids to do, for an additional charge. Would stay again.

Quiet RV park with the local legion baseball diamond. Love this small town campground. Nice clean bathrooms with showers that are very clean. Easy contactless check-in.

    Camp A Way Campground

    A great family park

So much for the kids to do. A fun pass is require and costa about $10 but kids get ice cream, Slushies, water balloons for water wars included with that plus access to trampoline basketball, a nice jump pad, pool, indoor hot tub, times water slide and timed barrel train ride. There’s basketball, fields to play in and gem mining for a fee. We splurged for their fanciest patio site and had a huge site. New patio furniture, a swing, camp fire, charcoal grill and full hook ups for less than $80 for the night.

Down sides - grass is dry - it’s summer - I’d rather everyone conserve on water than water the grass anyway so not such a down side - just noted. By a busy road and what looks like a highway support facility - but it’s super easy to get to and right off the highway… so it’s a plus and an obvious road noise kind of situation. We sleep thru everything so didn’t mind at all - just don’t expect it to be out in the middle of a field. Super close to Lincoln! We could see the city from the exit.

    Quiet get away

We spent the weekend at Diller RV park in June 2020. Very nice, clean, plenty of shade camp site. Diller is a very small Village with a small Main Street, which we enjoyed walking to. The have a great locker to pick up items to grill. The park was very nice. It was a great get away from the city noise. Diller is very close to Rock creek station as well.

    Lancaster Event Center

Great if Attending an Event or Passing Through

Right next to the event center, tent or rv camping is allowed. Depending on what's happening that day, it can be quiet or very busy. All sites are gravel and have electrical hookups. Internet is available throughout the area. Fires must be contained in an enclosed fire pit and pets must be kept on leash at all times. You can use the arena for showering during the day which is incredibly helpful.

    South Side RV Park

Long term RV camping close to several stores and businesses

Longterm and Short term RV camping in a newer part of town. all the hookups. Sites are directly behind a Dollar General and across the highway from the grocery and Shopko.

Auburn has a golf course and a decent disc golf course.

Good fishing in the Rotary lake.

    Marysville City Park

So nice I don't want to share it!

A beautiful city park with full hookups available in a really pretty town! And free, although they do take donations and I would recommend it so they can continue to provide this great service.

We found it a bit confusing even finding the spots - so enter from S 10th Street and take the last right into the park and look for the power pedestals. Sites seem very level, offer 50/30 amp hookups along with water. Also an RV dump! Cool black squirrels everywhere, and the park has a swimming pool, tennis courts, restrooms and many other amenities. You can stay up to 7 nights.

We'll definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in this part of Kansas again!

Great option for a quick stay

A little hidden gem of a campground tucked off the interstate. Nice play park, swimming pool, ball fields for families. A few sites with water and electric for RVs. More a parking lot with power towers than defined sites. Clean bathrooms with flush toilets. Just follow the blue signs.

    Decent Place that needs Updating

We stayed here for a mountain bike race weekend. Nighttime is great for stargazing and they have pretty stellar sunrises. We enjoyed the archery range and took plenty of walks. The shower facilities need a lot of updating and the RV spots are pretty dated with narrow roads. We were glad it wasn’t a weekend with a full campground and we think it would be pretty hectic during their peak season.

    Pawnee State Recreation Area

A beautiful lake just west of Lincoln ne

Pawnee is a lake that offers the ability of various water and other activities. There are the obvious acitivies for the water. Such as fishing, all types of motor boats, jet skies, all types of water skiing and tubing. I did see numerous kayaks at campsites I passed by as well. But kinds seemed to have to rough of water for a novice like me. There are also a couple swimming beaches, nature trails, horse shoe pits, and a disc golf course. I want to say that the trails are used for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders, because I saw a couple road apples. Honestly that don't bother me because I watch were I step, due to some parks I have visited have venomous snakes on The trail. The campsites for tents did have some shade for lake camping. The rv park seems to be fairly close together, but that could be common because I am a tent camper and don't pay attention that close. There is a horse camp on The other end of the lake west side that has corals in it. I would say that Pawnee is a definite a stop even for a day trip for outdoor or nature enthusiasts. Especially sense it's just out side west of Lincoln.

    Juuuust Fine!

I stayed there for a whole weekend. The reason to stay was to Frisbee golf and camp ALL weekend. The babe a nice 18 hole course throughout the park. Sheltered bathrooms and drinking fountains were just a few of the amenities offered at the grounds. There is tent camping along with RV spots with electricity for both. As it is in a small town setting as well, it is quiet with little light pollution so to view the stars decently enough. All in all it was a good path for families to hang out in and also a nice place to camp.

    Area Two Campground

Equestrian, Tent, and RV Lakeside Camping Area

Camping area 2 has a lot to offer, even if you don't own a horse.

The area is well known for being the equestrian camping area at one of the finest lakes in Nebraska. Pull through sites with full hookups, equestrian trails, and corals. Yet few people realize that there is a nice RV and tent camping area, lovely inlet with lakesides slabs, Boat docks, and Boat ramps. Showers are not available at area #2 but are available at a closeby area #1.

The lake has some nice trails including the equestrian trail that comes from the park. The park has several beaches 2 of them very close. There are archery and shotgun ranges at the lake and a decent disc golf course.

At a popular lake, this is a nice yet secluded camping area that often gets overlooked.

    Limited space

We stopped here and snagged a 30/50 amp spot with water which was just a small gravel pull off on the street through the park. We noticed several locals had parked in other RV spots to get out and walk their dogs so the available space was pretty limited. But the space was free so there’s that. We felt safe here.

    Area One Campground

One of the premiere Campgrounds in Nebraska

Branched Oak is not the luxury park that Mahoney is but it is one of the premiere campgrounds at Branched Oak which is one of the premiere parks of Nebraska.

This Camp Area actually is two camping areas (east and west)  the West is high on a hill overlooking the water and has a shower/toilet within the camping area.  The East overlooks the play area and has a vault toilet.  There is a central shower/Toilet structure but it is a little jaunt from even the closest RV spot in either area.  As always they assume that the tent campers don't use toilets and don't need showers so they put those areas as far from the facilities as possible.

There is a beach, a play area, a dump station, and a nice trail going off the east tent camping area.

    If you’re stopping for a night…

She’s not pretty, wooded, or even that quiet. But, she’s convenient! We needed an overnight spot with full hookups on a drive across country. This fit the bill. It does have a small off-leash area for dogs, but be careful with the little pups, they could easily slip out under the gates or any number of places along the fence. It made is very nervous since this place is REALLY close to I-80 and 180. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice enough. It had a hot tub too, but it was literally 102 degrees when we pulled in. No hot tub for us. It feels like this might be a spot where Husker fans camp on home game weekends. For us it was just a stop.

    Looks like fun for family

We spent one night here and it was nice. It was out first night camping in a 31’ with 3 slide outs and it was a great experience. Easy set up although only used power, nice level site with pull through. Busy but we had a pretty roomy spot. Bathrooms were clean, staff friendly. Cute little train rides for kids at night and vehicles to rent

    Chautauqua Park Campground

    Nice spot for a night

This park campground was a great stop for a night as we drove through Nebraska. Safe, clean, and nearly full by the time we parked early-evening on a Friday. Beatrice's website says "20 camping sites (3 pull-through)" and I would consider these to be geared toward RVs/vans, not so much toward tenting.

Tenting also available, but not well marked

This is a pleasant, quiet spot in a great park. There are two giant playgrounds to keep the kids busy. The toilets are OK, but just what you'd expect at a public park, nothing fancy. There were no showers. Trailer spots (7? available) have electricity, water and sewer hookups for $20 per night. Tenting is $5, which we didn't know because it's not marked on the price board or envelopes. However, after setting up for the night, a camp host told us there was a separate, cheaper tenting area on the eastern side of the trailer area. The picnic tables are really nice molded plastic, so no splinters.
