Nice to camp by the water

The sites are close together with little private space. we were lucky to be a short hike down to the lake where we could bring our chairs and play in the water. There was a fire ban, so no campfires at this time. Not so sure I would go back because of the crowds.

panoramic view of Twin Lakes

There are a lot of non-reservable sites in loop D and E. we were in loop E10 which provided an amazing view and lots of privacy. There are currently fire bans so just be aware. Nearby you can drive through Independent Pass to Aspen, then take the gondola to the top for Bluegrass music from 1:00 PM, a great day trip!

camping in a parking lot

We wanted to be near the water, but who wants to camp on an asphalt parking lot? it was only large RV’s with generators running. Too bad because the area is so beautiful.

North Beach- New campground

Be advised that the park just added a new section called North Beach. Sadly, somebody got greedy as the sights look like a parking lot and the electric boxes are large and right in the middle of the site. They are all full- service sites at $60 per night. So sad when they had the opportunity to do something great!

Hurricane Damage

Camped 2 nights- weekend

Camp on a Ramp

It is the weirdest idea of camping I've ever seen. Each campsite was a ramp overlook, quite a pretty view, but people were all crowded with their tents on this wooden ramp. The fire pit was elsewhere. It was not for us, so we left.

Poorly Maintained

Appears to be kind of a city park. The sites were trashy. It's on a lake and has a beach which seemed busy with locals. We decided it was not for us and left.

Respite from the road

This is our second visit for one night to and from Colorado. The sites are big and grassy with large trees. The host has a slew of bikes that can be used on a trust basis, no fee. There is a nice breeze in the evening. Yes, you can hear the highway, but the pros outway the cons. Showers are available for .75 for 3 minutes. There is a change machine. We would return.

Peaceful place to rest

We were very tired and felt so lucky to find this place on Dyrt. It's on a lake with lots of sights, large trees and grassy areas to play with our dog. It's not a place to go hiking, but for an overnight, it was excellent! We would return.

A place to sleep

We stopped here looking for an overnight after driving 8 hours. It is a small campground that had mostly trailers that looked like they were there on extended stays. Sights were lined up close to each other, and we did not see a fire pit or picnic table. For as tired as
