Monture Creek Campground provides primitive pet-friendly sites with picnic tables and metal fire rings just minutes from Highway 200. This small campground offers five campsites where pets are welcome, with three sites positioned farther back from the highway for better privacy and less road noise. Each site includes a fire ring for evening relaxation with your pet, and the campground's location next to Monture Creek creates excellent opportunities for dogs to cool off during summer months. Sites vary in size and proximity to the road, with campers noting the more secluded spots fill quickly. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with nightly fees of $12 for Montana residents with fishing licenses and $18 for non-residents.
Trout fishing access at nearby Browns Lake and Upsata Lake campgrounds expands pet-friendly camping options within short driving distance of Ovando. Both locations allow dogs while offering picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Most campgrounds in the area feature vault toilets but lack potable water, requiring visitors to bring adequate supplies for themselves and their pets. The Blackfoot River provides additional water access for dogs at Harry Morgan and Russell Gates Memorial fishing access sites, where camping spots are positioned right along the riverbank. Large pine trees throughout many sites offer natural shade during hot summer days, particularly important for pets. Wildlife is prevalent in the region, so proper food storage in vehicles or campground bear boxes is essential when camping with pets to prevent unwanted encounters.

Nice amenities (mini golf, horse shoes, pool, dog park), close enough to town. Grass at our site.
We enjoyed an incredible weekend at this campground. Nice clean restrooms, spacious sites, and they even pick up your trash every morning. Great dog park. The owners are very helpful and friendly . We definitely will be back.
This is one if the prettiest and cleanest campground we have ever stayed at. The sites are gravel, mostly level and most sites have shad. The pull through sites on the outer edge do not but others inside do. The laundry and bathhouse was very nice and clean. $2.00 per load to wash. There is flowers everywhere and they have a sprinkler system to keep everything pretty so you can’t leave anything out overnight that you don’t want to get wet. They mow each Thursday and are constantly doing upkeep on the grounds. FHU was a plus and made our stay enjoyable. There is a small dog park but it’s mostly in the sun so we chose to enjoy walks. The only downside (if I had to find one) was the train close by that was very squeaky as it went by. But I never heard it during the night.
This is a very well cared for campground. Beautiful flowers, trees, landscaping throughout the park. Very clean and loved. Store has a bit of everything you need. Fenced in dog park. Clean bathrooms and laundry facilities. Very enjoyable stay!
Golden leaves on popping trees, glints and shimmers of silver and gold bouncing off of the Blackfoot River. Camping a la riverfront. Tent pitched. Fire stoked. Flies tied on the pole. This charming campsite East of the small and charming town of Ovando, Montana, is more than a boat launch, it's a camping way of life.
Te lake is beautiful and the sites are really close to the lake. Better privacy than is typical. Pets allowed and the store is close.
Nice place, quite and inviting. Walking distance to all the amenities of town. This park has a pit toilet and flush toilets, also showers, potable water and garbage service. Huge spots with lots of space. Pull through spots perfect for RV or tent camping. Sites available with or without hookups. Playground for kids and it's pet friendly! We love this park.
We stumbled up on this campground by accident. We were looking for Lakeside campground, it was closed. Found Lake Inez and it's closed for camping. 6 sites. Picnic tables and fire rings. Small sign stating it was a memorial campground. 1 and 2 are tent sites, and we parked our Class C at site 3. Didn't see the other 3 sites until we left.
If you're looking for a sleepy spot to relax and enjoy that isn't inundated with tourists, this is the place. This lovely lake campground has spacious sites, most are level and graveled, picnic tables, pit toilets, potable water on site, a lodge style restaurant for meals and drinks, and hiking trails right from the campground. Everything is kept neat and tidy, and the boat launch is not far from the campground. The launch is very shallow, so you're not going to get a surf boat in, or a large pontoon boat either, which is part of why this lake is still peaceful. Lots of opportunity to kayak, paddle board and swim. It's pet friendly, and campers regularly leave their water toys, kayaks, canoes, etc., on the shoreline during their stay with no fear of them being stollen. The hike to Holland Falls is suitable for beginners and children, but be aware that it's rocky when you reach the falls, and dogs and children should be supervised in that area. There are both black and grizzly bears that frequent this area daily, so be very careful with your food, and bear aware when hiking. My last stay was only 2 nights, and I ran into two bears, one that strolled right by my trailer. This is my favorite camp ground for an escape from reality!
