    Court Sheriff Campground

    Nice spot in Canyon Ferry

    I was very pleased by our stay here! We didn’t want to stay in Helena and looked around the Missouri. This spot was so nice! We had a spot in some shade, and looked right into the water. Toilets were clean, campground had lots of walking areas, and scenery was very pretty. Would definitely come again!

    Hellgate Campground

    Great spot!

    Nice spot. Easy walk onto the beach. Not a steep cliff. Good fishing. We will be back to this area again.

    Lovely area very quiet

    We were the only nomads all the other campers were local seasonal fishing guides so it was very quiet. The lodge and rooms are nice.

    Belt Creek on Hughesville Road

    Nice spots on the river

    We arrived at about 5 on a Friday night and a lot of the spots where taken. Traffic kept rolling untill about 9 of people looking for spots. So if you want to stay on a Friday get there early lol. Sights are nice and have a fire pit we were east of the dam so our creek wasn’t dry. There are alot of spots with roads though them with multiple spread out sites. So if everything by the road is taken just drive down a side road and you will probably find something!

    Nice spot

    This has a large pullout from the road. It is along the creek, which is pretty. It has a fire pit and a picnic table. I probably won’t stay here again because Montana charges $18 a night for non-residents. It’s too expensive for essentially a parking spot.

    Confederate Campground

    Fun lake for dispersed camping

    Beautiful clear lake and large beach. Easy to distance yourself from other campers, lots of space. Spent 1 night tent camping, gorgeous sunset, clean beach, camp fire rings, picnic tables, outhouses. No fees, no reservation, 14 day limit, good cell phone reception. Highly recommend. There is huge space for trailers as well. Google Maps tried to take us on a private rd, easy to get around.

    Campground is located in a beautiful area, the host couple are nice people and there is a small store for essentials. The campground is basic but the free WiFi is great.

    Canyon Ferry Lake Dispersed Camping Area

    No shade and lots of wind!

    Skip the first entrance on the right and go to the second or third to get to the NF land before you go to the marina. There isn't much shade anywhere except on the west side of the Bay. Vault toilets and fire pits and picnic tables provided and there is free drinking and washing water at the marina including ice sales and quarter pay showers and a boat ramp. Anyone can use the boat ramp that there are no launching facilities elsewhere. Shore is Rocky but beautiful with fantastic sunsets to the west over the hills across the reservoir but again, very little shade.
