Great state park. Cleanest restrooms I’ve seen. Great trails. Bring the kayaks. They have some pretty cool kayak marked trails on the lake. Beautiful sail boats to see as well!
I think it’s probably the most underrated park in the area. It’s absolutely beautiful. 45 minutes from Joplin, Missouri. Limited camp sites but the sites are spacious w/ tables, pit, bathroom facilIty a short walk away with a creek nearby. Peaceful as can be.
Super clean park with lots to do without having to leave the park! Bring quarters for the showers. Love that they do that. I’ll help our park system any way I can :) It’s near Muskogee so if you’re in town for the Renaissance festival this is a great camping option!
One of my fav state parks. Stayed for the weekend. Clean. Comfy. Fishing. Couldn't get any better. Relax and enjoy :)
We had a electric site with a pop up. We arrived and realized it's mostly set up for tent camping. The employees weren't exactly the most welcoming, or informative. It's a neat area though, playground, pretty lake and trails. When we went it looked like they were making some major improvements on the sites, which is great. If you're in a tent or in the bike cabins, go for it. It's totally for you guys. For an rv? I wouldn't do it again. Showers and restrooms weren't awful.
We camped in campground 1 right next to the play ground. Super clean, had a view of the lake. Within walking distance of the marina. Everyone was very friendly. My only complaint is the first night we had super noisy neighbors. I'm all for music and a good time but past quiet hours I think one should tone it down a bit. I assumed the host would tell them to be quiet. It did take me complaining the next morning, and then the host went to talk to them. Rest of the trip was smooth as can be! Kayak trails on the lake…beautiful clean swimming beaches. Can't wait to go back :)
