          Quiet Missouri Conservation Area

In Amish country. About eight fire rings. Probably could park anywhere and camp regardless of rings. 2 OCT 24 and been here five days and saw only two other campers. One night and two night stays for them. Safe place although I am a manly man so I do not worry. Safe for females I mean. About 30 minutes to Bethany proper where civilization is. 3 bar Verizon reception.

Perfect Place to Spend the Night

I believe I counted 4 total campsites at this place, I was the only one here towards the end of September on a Thursday night.

It is close to the highway and you can certainly hear it but it didn’t bother me, it’s kinda handy to have a place close to the highway when you’re just stopping for the night.

Single vault style toilet. There is a dumpster also.

          Timing is everything!

Pretty grounds with woodland coverage on all sides in addition to the lake. We visited in August and realized it was prime family vacation time before school starts up again, so a little crowded and noisy. Spots are pretty close together too. But the grounds are quite lovely and the facilities were super clean. We plan to go back when Autumn arrives, mid week. Bonus easy shore fishing access.

          A treat of a spot

Very pleasant spot with a few camp sites as options. Beautiful lake. Bathroom was rough, hole in the ground style with a gate for a door. But over all the site was worth it

          Early fall camp

Came out to camp one night with my 5 year old. We stated on a friday night in October and the campground was not too busy at all.. maybe only 5 other groups there. Showers and bathroom were all fine, campsite was clean and well maintained. Loved that the tent camping sites were actually surrounded by trees, I see way to many tent campsites that are basically just in the middle of a grass field. There are walking paths and a couple of playgrounds around the lake close enough to walk to but far enough away they wont ever be a bother. Also if you like disc golf than this is the place to go, there is a brand new 18 hole course right next to the camp!

          Beautiful and secluded

I stopped by for some research. I was only able to get cell service where camping sites 14-17 are located. These site are not shaded. The do appear to be adding additional sites in shadier areas. It's a beautiful spot with minimal people.

Mostly level sites with options for tenting or rv. Sites are primitive, electric only or full hookup. Several back to to the lake. The lake is great for fishing, kayaking or swimming.

          Nice city park; reasonable price

This is a 76 acre lake 1 mile northeast of Corning, Iowa. Electric sites are $20 a night or $800 for the season. There's a dump station and several water spigot. A bathroom with cold running water. There are also several portapotties around the lake. A fire ring and a picnic table at every site. We have seen people catching bass. Its not so much for camping. Its more of a day trip kinda place. Multiple ponds. People also go out there and shoot off guns on the upper pond. Personally..... I fucking love this place. One of my favorites to go fishing and drink a few....

Starlink is hit and miss, lot of trees.

Very nice and cheap. 8 for camping, 12 with electric and 18 full hookups. That’s a great price for the view. I will definitely be back when it’s greener. Verizon is 2 bars of 4g. And Starlink is only possible in select places, as there is a lot of trees. It’s January, so I chose my spot for the internet.

Small campground with available spot with 2 days notice. Peaceful sites. Grounds very well kept. Full hookups and friendly staff. One of the best experiences on a site close to the 35, but far enough away you wouldn't know it. Good wifi. If you're looking for a beautiful park, this is it!

          Nice and Quiet

Lake Mozingo is near the College Town of Maryville, Missouri. My experience is limited, but I’d say it’s pretty nice here. And inexpensive. Concrete Pads with Power and Water at the Site but no Sewer dump, that’s Centralized in the Camp. There’s Lake access if you want. I like it here.

          Cold Spring Park

          Small 104 Acre Park

This is a small 104 acre county park in central/west central Iowa. There are 26 electoral hook up sites and 20 primitive sites. Coat was $10 for primitive and $15 for electric. No reservations. Fist come first served. We pulled in around 3:30PM on a Friday and there were 6-8 electrical sites to choose from. (The place did fill up by Saturday morning though.) Sites are close together and there isn’t much privacy. The bathrooms are decent bathrooms with showers and over all the place was fairly clean. We just wanted a place to stay for a night or two on a pass through and this placed served the purpose. Not a place to visit if you are looking for spacious sites with a lot of privacy but it is a shady, well wooded park in the middle of nowhere Iowa If you need a place to stop for a night or two.

          Easily my favorite spot

This is a very clean, lovely camp ground. The spots are spacious, and there are tons of options. In the fall we went and had no neighbors. It’s busy in summer, but well kept. They had people cleaning the bathrooms constantly (my mom kept pointing out, in awe, that it was “practically hourly”) which was great for tent camping with a large group! It’s quiet, beautiful lake, great boating, great swim spot, fun park for kids. Beautiful trees and hiking especially in the fall.

Small quiet clean campground off gravel road in middle of farmland

No way to make day before reservations so we gambled and drove in. Van and bikes covered in fine white dust from road. Small lake but sites on hillside with no view. Clean bathrooms but noticed paid time showers were taped " out of order" morning of our departure so no showers for us. Very quiet and nice short hiking trail around lake. The 2 cabins face small pond and looked very nice.

Great little campground in a rural setting

This campground in Iowa is quite nice although not very private.  It costs $15 for camping with no electrical hook-up.  The views are great, and you can go dive in the little lake for a swim.

Lake of Three Fires State Park

          Gem But Could Be Better

As tent campers we found a lot to love at Lake of Three Fires, but also found ourselves wanting more. It’s got a gorgeous lake, and some camping sites are out of this world, but it can be inconsistent and there’s not a lot to do.

Pros: -While the electric hookup sites were full, primitive campers had their pick of the campground even during the middle of the summer. Plenty of open non-electric sites to choose from.
-Site 55 is an absolute GEM. Spacious and right on the water! We didn’t have any neighbors so it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. -Good fishing at the lake, and plenty of quiet spots to fish from -The lake is quiet and relatively calm -Excellent (and clean!) modern bathrooms, by far the best we’ve encountered

Cons: -There’s not a lot to do other than fishing and hanging out by the campsite -The trails are quite poorly marked and seem to only have entry and exit points at each end of the point, so unless you want to commit to the full 8 miles, you’ll have to turn back at some point -The sites can be inconsistently sized. We found some tent sites that were less than half the size of our site, and they were packed like sardines. -A lot of the sites are sloped, so even ground can be hard to find. -The park is pretty rural, so if you need to make an emergency grocery or supplies run you might be out of luck. -No firewood on site, so you’ll have to come prepared or hope you can find some in town.
