Will not go back

Horrible toilets. Rude workers. Sketchy ass town. No camp store. No water. Nice rocks at beach. Creepy abandoned places at beach.

Lived here my whole life

The channels are always swell. People always respectful with their boats. Very beautiful place to live.

Large Sites and a lot to do!

We stayed here for 2 weeks. The lots are huge compared to other campgrounds we have been to. They have a nice gravel spot for you to park your RV or other vehicle on. We have a 25' camper and a F250 and we weren't able to park the truck straight in front of the camper or we would be sticking out in…

  • Really large sites!
  • Beautiful Lake Michigan
  • This is what their fire pit looks like. It has a grate that you can cook on!

Hidden gem

Well thought out campground in the middle of the suburbs. You can actually forget that you are in the middle of a very urban area. If your looking to camp near Chicago, this is the spot! Only complaint is you get locked in an hour after sunset, but still worth coming here.

Lot of sites

Nice camp site are nice size. Over a 1/3 of the site are walk in, started on 2021. This make it hard to make a reservation for the weekend, most reserved site are book for one night.

A good two weeks

This is a no frills campground with super nice people and great place to let the pups run, play, swim, and walk. The bald eagles nests are also amazing. We had water and 50amp, with a black water dump once or twice a week at your RV’s site. The huge, mowed, grassy field in front of our coach for…

Great campground, very well-maintained, nice sites, great location. One of our favorites of a month long trip staying at 15 sites!

Nearly perfect campground

Gorgeous park in a somewhat remote, i.e., quiet area. The sites are large, level and well-dispersed; there’s plenty of shade; the electrical connections are well-placed. Unfortunately, the water connection in our site (61) was a bit of a stretch. Contact via phone was a bit challenging; it took…

Clean, quiet, close

This is a nice campground. Very clean and the sites are well maintained with water and electric at each. The campground is not far from stores in case you need to pick anything up or forgot something. Cell signal is great (Verizon). We really enjoyed our stay for the weekend and will be back.

Nice weekend getaway close to home

My family loves coming here! The scenery is beautiful, you can fish, hike, or just relax. You're in the Chicago suburbs so it's easy to get to a store or restaurant if you need. It's close to home for us, so it's perfect for a quick camping trip. Only drawback is that it's a little pricey, but the…

Did tent camping here..

Not worth the money. All R v sites are to close. If it rains your in a mud hole. Water smell and next to the high way.

South location!

If you plug Illinois beach state park into your navigation it will send you to the north entrance. No camping is available there. The campground is the south entrance which is a few miles away. The campground itself was just ok. Nothing spectacular, although bthe sunrise on lake Michigan is superb.
