    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV parks and campgrounds serve the Kimberly area, with options ranging from basic to full-service facilities. Rock Creek RV Park provides water and electric hookups at level gravel sites within a canyon setting, while Nat-Soo-Pah Hot Springs & RV Park offers full hookups including 30-amp service and sewer connections from May through September. Hagerman RV Village accommodates larger vehicles with 50-amp electrical service and remains open year-round. At Snake River Canyons Park, RV sites include picnic tables and fire rings but no hookups. "Rickets has several pull-in (not through) RV campsites that are gravel driveways with a table and fire pit," noted one camper.

Facilities vary considerably among these motorhome-friendly destinations. Most parks require cash payment, with rates ranging from free at Ricketts RV Camp to approximately $45 at full-service locations. Cell service remains consistent near Twin Falls but may diminish in canyon areas. Dump stations are available at Buhl Chamber RV Park and Nat-Soo-Pah, though some parks lack on-site disposal facilities. Between April and November, most campgrounds maintain normal operations, while winter options become limited. Parks near Twin Falls provide convenient access to shopping and fuel, though RVs over 40 feet may find navigation challenging at some of the canyon locations where roads narrow considerably.

      Twin Falls 93 RV Park

      Expensive run down RV Park

Twin Falls 93 RV Park is an expensive, run down, in need of repair rv park that provides only the basics. It offers restrooms, showers, laundry, dog parks and is about 15 minutes from the city of Twin Falls. Our site was not level (off about 4 inches) and many other sites were not level either. Most motor homes had the front tires off the ground. Unfortunately, they are very expensive for what you get, which includes sites that are only 50 feet or less in length (forcing you to park your truck sideways if you have a trailer over 35 feet or motor home), even though they say they are deluxe sites and big rig friendly. Many times there were Class As and Class Cs that were parked in the rv park roads by several feet due to the sites not being long enough. When driving through the park you have to be very careful due to so many big rigs extending past the short sites and into the interior roads. On some of the sites, the grassy area with the hookups is higher than the rest of the site, making it difficult to hook up the sewer so that it drains properly. There is a man made concrete pond that is completely dry and full of debris, as if it hasn’t been used in years. The whole time we were there, 2 of the dryers in the laundry room were broken, and the remaining dryers required 2 cycles (double the cost) to actually dry the clothes. There is a bench in one dog park that has a broken back, which was not fixed in the time we were there. For what it costs to stay there ($1,281 for a little over a month after good sam discount), you would think they could afford to fix things, which makes us think they just don’t care. The rv park wifi was completely unusable, because it dropped every minute or two. The park was very noisy, being right next to the highway. Water quality is very hard which stained our shower floor and walls. No late checkout was permitted even though they were not busy when we checked out. We will not stay here again.

Smoky Mountain Campground — Castle Rocks State Park

      Killer Spot

Smoky Mountain campground is very close to the entrance of City of Rocks NR and just slightly further is Castle Rocks SP, however, the grounds are managed by the state park. There are some RV/equestrian sites that have 30/50 amp power and water hookups. There is a dump station on the road to the grounds but it was closed for repairs when we visited. There are plenty of pit toilets around the area and the ones we used were quite clean. Spots are mostly back-in but pretty easy access. The camp hosts were very friendly and the camp reservation includes a parking pass for the State Park ($10 value). The RV sites are very private and nicely spread out with pine trees in between. Great views of City of Rocks. Plenty of biking and hiking trails around and TONS of climbing. The visitor center is about 2 miles away and a general store another half mile beyond that. There’s opportunity for gas and food on the way to the grounds (both Albion and Almo have options) but best to get what you need before you leave the major highway. Having hookups at a State Park with such awesome views was sweet and the grounds are very well maintained. Reservations seem hard to come by during the high season.

Smoky Mountain Campground — Castle Rocks State Park

Beautiful location on the edge of City of Rocks National Preserve

The relationship between City of Rocks National Preserve and Castle Rocks State Park is still not clear to me as this campground appears on the National Park Service website, although it is an Idaho State Park. That said, the park rangers seem to work cooperatively. This campground is delightful. Located about a 7-mile drive/walk to the entrance of City of Rocks, Smoky Mountain Campground is situated above the valley providing a wonderful view from many sites including space #19 where I parked my campervan.  I believe the walking distance to the reserve could be shorter by taking any of the hiking trails from the campgrounds rather than going along the paved roads which first go away from the City of Rocks then back up again, making a big "U".

During my one-night stay in February, water, showers and bathrooms in the campground were closed for the winter season. A very clean, pit toilet is located in the equestrian parking lot across from the campground entrance. The distance from the campsites to the bathroom will vary from quite close to about 1/4 mile max. And during the winter season, there won't be much competition for the spaces close to the bathroom, as I was the sole user during my time there.

In addition to the breathtaking views, the sites offer privacy from 3 sides though all face the loop access road. There are picnic tables, fire rings and electrical power. I did not note if water was available as it would have been shut off in February in any event.  There is a dump station about 1 mile down the road toward the exit. I do not know if it is open in the winter.

Check-in during the off-season is accomplished by envelope collected at the entrance or directly to the ranger who came by in the morning to check-in. The rate was $27 per night. Definitely worth the money to stay in this tranquil campground so close to the magnificent City of Rocks.

Banbury Hot Springs Campground - Temporarily Closed

      Relaxing

Midweek RV stay in April was quiet and relaxing. Not all stalls are RV friendly, my friend had to move due to her trailer would not level. Park hosts extremely nice to work with. Dog friendly park. Pool is older but the water was toasty warm to soak in especially in cold weather. Changing room was clean. I will be back as I noticed there is a dock to go kayaking.

      Village of Trees RV Resort

      Good stop on the drive

We stopped here on our way home from a recent trip and was a good stop over point. I’m not sure what activities are possible as a destination campground but maybe water sports?

      The good:

      • Easy on and off from the highway
      • Clean bathrooms
      • Easy, pull through sites
      • Very friendly staff
      • They have a grill which will deliver breakfast, lunch or dinner to your site

      The mixed:

      • It is an RV resort laid out like a grassy parking lot
      • A lot of resident campers

      The bad:

      • The highway was very loud from our site
      • No picnic table or fire pit

      Rock Creek RV Park

Love this park! First come, first served

OVERVIEW: The RV park is part of the county park- beautiful walking/bike path with the creek flowing through. Our back in site was nearby our neighbors, but felt spacious because it's an end site directly across from the camp host. Easy to navigate the concreted roads and the space was easy to back in to.

Hard to beat $20 for W&E hookups. It's a quiet campground. Trashcans all around the park conveniently. The area as you drive up seems a bit run down, but as soon as you get into the park, it's great.

There is a free public dump station 1 mile away in town since there is not a dump station on site.

The park has unisex toilets around the grounds that are vault toilets so nothing fancy. Picnic tables, lots of green space around and the trail goes for at least 2 miles round trip.

CELL SERVICE: We work remote- We used out AT&T hotspot and had an awesome connection. Reliable for video calls all week. Gradely harshly, giving 4 out 5, only because they don't have wifi and also ideally would have been nice to have sanitizer(especially this year) in the bathrooms. Everything was was lovely.

GUEST SERVICES: Camphost was super friendly. We came in around 8:30pm on a Monday night with fingers crossed we would find a spot.. and we did with no problem. If it looks full as you enter, keep going past the camphost and you will find the pull thru options. The camp host came over on his gator and shined his lights to help us as we set up. He was very kind.

NEARBY: Close to downtown Twin Falls with some cute coffee shops and breweries. Also about 50 mins away there is a place called Mammoth Cave that might be the most interesting cave experience you ever experience. I highly encourage it.

Snake River Canyons Park - Rickett's RV Camp

Nice location but no Shelter From the elements whatsoever

Just a few miles outside of Twin Falls and somewhat near the river supposedly, there are several designated back in and a couple of pull-through campsites with picnic tables and fire pits and two Vault toilets as well as well as garbage receptacles. Seems very safe and clean and sites are clearly numbered. No fee but guessing it fills up quickly on weekends. Lots of hiking and much to do in the area and a great place to lay over for a night or a few.

      Twin Falls 93 RV Park

      Clean, friendly, safe, level

Stayed one night in early September with a 25 foot Class C.  The campground is easy to find.  There are several long-term residents and the overall vibe was friendly.  Called and got a same-day spot.  Full hook-up and W/E only sites are available.  Wireless internet is available throughout the park.  The site (51) was level and the electrical post and water spot looked new.  Quiet at night.  There are shower and laundry facilities available.  Pleasant place to spend the night.

Snake River Canyons Park - Rickett's RV Camp

      Close to town and dreamy!

Wonderful dispersed camping and close to town. Spacious sites with a picnic table. Area for horses. Pull in and pull through sites. Vault toilet.

    Guide to Kimberly

Snake River Canyon influences camping conditions near Kimberly, Idaho. The canyon landscape creates sheltered camping locations with 360-degree views of agricultural surroundings. Seasonal temperatures range from winter lows of 20°F to summer highs around 90°F, making late spring through early fall the most comfortable camping periods.

    What to do

Water activities on Snake River: At Hagerman RV Village, guests can access nearby boat docks along the Snake River. "We spent our time around the picnic table, despite 98° temps. Hiked Box Canyon and swam, visited the Fossil Bed NM, and drove to Twin Falls for more swimming," shared a camper who enjoyed the river access.

Biking through canyon terrain: The region offers scenic trails suitable for various skill levels. "It was a perfect place for us close to the gorge and nice country Roads to ride bikes on," notes one visitor at Mendoza Ranchette, highlighting the accessibility of trails directly from campgrounds.

Hiking to view fossils: Educational trails at Hagerman Horse Fossil Beds provide unique scientific interest for campers. "Close to several things to do, hotsprings, historical sites, fossil beds, and the town which had a few restaurants," explains a reviewer who found the location convenient for exploring multiple attractions.

    What campers like

Swimming in natural hot springs: Thermal pools provide year-round swimming options. "The real beauty of the place is the fantastic swimming pool and hot tubs. While it is a mecca for rowdy children, the pool is large and the temperature and delicious texture of the water make it an absolute delight," reports a visitor at Nat-Soo-Pah Hot Springs & RV Park.

Riverside camping views: Campers appreciate sites adjacent to waterways. "Right on the river with trails and gorgeous views! Good bathroom. Close to fun things to see," shares a camper at Heyburn Riverside RV Park, highlighting the location's natural setting.

Food delivery service: Some campgrounds offer meal delivery directly to sites. "The office is also a diner with breakfast and lunch. Order and have it delivered directly to your site," notes a guest at Village of Trees RV Resort, appreciating this convenient option.

    What you should know

Operating seasons vary: Many sites have limited availability during colder months. "They close starting Oct. 31st," cautions a visitor about Rock Creek RV Park, while others remain operational year-round with reduced services.

Cell service inconsistency: Coverage depends on specific location and carrier. "We had exceptional service for both Verizon and AT&T," explains a visitor at Rock Creek RV Park, noting reliable connection despite the canyon setting.

Reservation systems differ: Some campgrounds require advance booking while others operate first-come basis. "This is a fee-free primitive BLM camp offers 2 vault toilets and 13 level RV parking pads, each with a picnic table and fire ring," explains a visitor at Ricketts RV Camp regarding their no-reservation policy.

    Tips for camping with families

Animal encounters: Some properties have resident animals children enjoy. "Our kids loved the horses and puppies. The hosts were friendly and had great recommendations for the area!" shares a family staying at Mendoza Ranchette.

Playground accessibility: Several campgrounds offer play areas for children. "There are two playgrounds, multiple shelters, a handicapped accessible fishing pier, and biking/walking path," explains a visitor describing the family amenities at Rock Creek RV Park.

Swimming pool hours: Check facility schedules as they change seasonally. "Most of the park is getting run-down and overall it doesn't feel very organized or regulated. There were people coming in from all directions, switching spots, and all sorts of chaos during the day and into the night," cautions a family about managing expectations at Nat-Soo-Pah Hot Springs during busy seasons.

    Tips from RVers

Dump station locations: Plan waste management carefully as on-site facilities vary. "There is no dump onsite, but Twin Falls has a free one a mile away, so as long as you plan accordingly, you should be fine!" advises an RV owner about utilizing facilities near Rock Creek RV Park.

Site leveling challenges: Some locations require additional equipment for stability. "Some spots are not very level There are large rigs here. There is a stream that runs thru the park and has a nice walking trail," notes an RVer at Rock Creek RV Park.

Easy access considerations: Highway proximity affects navigation ease. "Easy on and off from the highway," recommends an RVer at Village of Trees RV Resort, which offers convenient access for larger vehicles directly from Interstate 84.
