Best RV Parks & Resorts near Cocolalla, ID

Several RV parks near Cocolalla provide year-round and seasonal accommodation with varying hookup options. Cozy RV Park in Sagle offers water hookups and 30-amp electrical service on sites that can handle travel trailers and motorhomes. Blackwell Island RV Park in Coeur d'Alene features full hookups with 50-amp service on gravel sites that operate from April through mid-October. "Sites are gravel, level, both pull throughs and back ins available, FHU, no privacy between sites," noted one camper about Blackwell Island. Tamarack RV Park in Coeur d'Alene accommodates big rigs with 50-amp service, water, and sewer connections on sites that remain open year-round, while Silverwood RV Park near Athol provides similar amenities during its May to October season.

Pull-through sites are limited at most parks in the region, with Ravenwood RV Resort near Athol being an exception with spacious motorhome-friendly lanes. Most parks require advance reservations during summer months when Silverwood Theme Park attracts significant traffic. Cell service varies throughout the area, with stronger coverage near Coeur d'Alene and spotty reception in more remote locations. Dump stations are available at Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park and Blackwell Island, though several reviewers mentioned the inconvenience of dump station placement. Pet policies generally allow leashed animals, but restrictions apply in some designated areas. Many parks charge premium rates for lakefront or riverside sites, with standard full-hookup spots averaging $45-75 per night depending on location and amenities.

    Liberty Lake RV Campground

Looks like a parking lot with RVs

This is a newer RV park in Liberty Lake. They have only been open 2 years. Liberty Lake is between Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID. There are about 130 spaces or so, with concrete pads and paved streets. There is grass between sites, but they are much too close to be comfortable, and there is no shade! And, the rules!!! Lots more rules than most other camping areas.’ It also appears many of the residents are semi-permanent. They have free cable snd wifi, a dog park, playground, swimming pool, laundry, and dump station. The sites are 30/50 amp, most are pull through but the outer ring is back in. They also have propane. They are on the pricy side: an outside loop 50 ft. Site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount. It is easy access to I-90 both East and west.

    Blackwell Island RV Park

    Waterfront RV campground

    9/14 to 9/17/19

    Blackwell Island RV Resort

    Coeur d'alene Idaho

Close to interstate, located next to Spokane River and lake. Boat and kayak rentals. Sites are gravel, level, both pull throughs and back ins available, FHU, no privacy between sites. Some nice water front sites. Chairs in place to enjoy the small beach. Nice volleyball and play area. Small BMX course was fun. Cute landscaping near water, small trees within the campground. Picnic tables, no wood fires allowed. No tents of any kind. Very limited store at the office. Town very close with stores and restaurants. Nice restaurant a short distance at the Marina called Cedars. Great private bathroom/with shower. Nice laundry facilities. Free cable and spotty wifi. Moose too!

    Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park

It's one of the nicest fairground rv parks.

It's one of the nicest fairground rv park I have been to. This place was very well kept and very friendly campground host. This place is big rig friendly. I stayed in a 45 class A motorhome with a tow vehicle. I had no problem with the access to the rv park. If you are coming off of interstate 90, don't use exit 13. The round about is way to small to handle big rig or any camper. The best route is exit 12 big rig friendly. The price is very reasonable for this area. No shade.

    Liberty Lake Regional Park

    Quiet park close to Spokane

We spent 3 weeks at Liberty Lake Regional Park while visiting our son and grandkids in Spokane. The road in is a little narrow, but once in, it’s a great little campground. Most of the sites are fairly level. We stayed at 2 different sites over 3 weeks, and both were level. They are close together! They provide a fire pit if you want one. Picnic table, water and electric. The dump station is quite a drive, back out, up the hill. There is a clean shower/bathroom building and a beach within walking distance of the campground. While we were there the campground hosts did a fantastic job of keeping everything clean and tidy. Several hiking trails, including an equestrian trail, waterfall, fishing and lots of wildlife. There were deer in the campground every day, we saw moose, owls, pilated woodpecker, and hawks. We were there over July 4th weekend and they had a fireworks display on the beach.

    Thousand Trails Little Diamond

    Little Diamond Newport Washington

We spent a week here and loved it. It is so quiet and peaceful. The sites share electric and water, no sewer and are positioned oddly they are on the off side and in front by the road. Some 30and 50 amp just check the box. The sites are gravel, some what level and size/length varies, a few pull throughs, our 37ft 5ver had no problem. Bathroom showers are ok. Laundry is good. There is a small lake free fishing, didn’t fish. We stayed in the Thousand Trails side, it is a split park with KOA on the other side. Two dump stations, nice lodge/ spa and pool open. AT&T and Sprint were very good. At our site 144

    Albert's Landing

Clean, Friendly, Well Maintained RV Campground on the CDA River

Albert's Landing is a clean, well managed RV campground on the shores of the North Fork of the CDA River near Cataldo, Idaho.

The campground offers 60+ sites with water & 30\50 amp service, level gravel pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. There is nearly 1000' of river frontage, a camp store, and a river float shuttle. However, the campground does not currently have a septic dump, trash facilities, or showers, Those services will be available soon though.

The North Fork of the CDA River is a popular destination for river floating, fishing, and off road recreational activities.

Down the road from the campground is the historic Snake Pit restaurant. Highly recommend stopping in for their great food, atmosphere, and colorful history.

If you're planning to visit the North Fork of the CDA River, I highly recommend Albert's Landing.

    Sedlmayer's Resort & Campground

A great quiet campground on the lake front.

My wife accidentally came across this private campground, which turned into a great stay. Located in northern Idaho and right on Spirit Lake, this campground has 31 RV sites that can accommodate various sizes of RVs. Every site has 20, 30& 50 amp electrical service however, only sites 1 through 21 have sewer. If you need a pull-through site, then go with #14 through#19, or#21.

The campground has a lakeside restaurant, boat slips for campers, and a small general store. The area was well maintained and clean. There are numerous mature cedar trees providing shade and privacy throughout the campground. My only complaint is that only 5 fire pits are located throughout the campground. This campground seems to be a local known quiet gem worth checking out for family fun.

    Bonner County Fairgrounds

Five-Star Review for Bonner County Fairground Campground

My recent stay at the campground at Bonner County Fairground in Pondray, ID was absolutely phenomenal!

We had such a wonderful experience from start to finish and we can't recommend this campground enough. First and foremost, the campground is incredibly well-maintained and clean. The facilities are top-notch and it's evident that the staff takes great pride in keeping everything in excellent condition.

The campground itself is spacious and well-designed, offering plenty of room for RVs and other camping setups. They do not allow tents at this park. The campsites were level and provided ample space for my RV, as well as a picnic table. We particularly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the campground, with beautiful views of the surrounding nature. What truly sets this campground apart is its convenient location. Being situated at the Bonner County Fairground, we had the opportunity to explore the fairgrounds and attend any events or activities that happened to be taking place during our stay.

Moreover, the campground is ideally situated to explore the breathtaking natural beauty of Pondray and the surrounding area. I took full advantage of the numerous hiking and biking trails nearby, immersing myself in the stunning landscapes and fresh mountain air. The picturesque scenery and abundant wildlife made every outdoor adventure truly unforgettable.

Another aspect that impressed me was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

They were always available to answer any questions, provide recommendations for local attractions and dining options, and ensure that my stay was as enjoyable as possible. In terms of amenities, the campground had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The electrical hookups were reliable, and the availability of potable water and dump stations made it easy to manage my RV's needs.

Lastly, I must mention the incredible local attractions in the Pondray area. From the nearby Lake Pend Oreille, perfect for boating, fishing, and swimming, to the charming town with its unique shops and restaurants, there was always something exciting to explore. We also had the opportunity to visit nearby national forests and parks, immersing myself in nature and taking in the breathtaking vistas.

Guide to Cocolalla

Camping near Cocolalla, Idaho provides access to northern Idaho's lake country, situated at approximately 2,400 feet elevation with generally mild summer temperatures averaging 75-85°F. The camping season typically runs from late April through mid-October, with several campgrounds extending availability into winter months. RV parks near Cocolalla attract visitors seeking proximity to water recreation and the nearby attractions of Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint.

What to do

Swimming at City Beach: Located near Sandpoint Edgewater RV Park, the beach area features playground equipment, tennis courts, and fishing spots. "Location is awesome very convenient but being right next to the train tracks is a bummer," notes Matt J., highlighting the accessibility despite some noise considerations.

Biking on nearby trails: River Walk RV Park offers direct access to the area's biking trails along the river. "The location is right next to the biking trail and river boardwalk a short distance to the city park," writes Kimberly Y., making it ideal for cycling enthusiasts.

Fishing for catfish: Blue Lake RV Resort provides fishing opportunities in their small lake. "The little lake is full of catfish and turtles that you can feed," explains Don R., who considers the property "a hidden gem" with reasonable prices.

Water sports equipment rentals: Multiple locations offer kayak, paddleboard, and boat rentals. "They have paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards and a floating trampoline," mentions Don R. about Blue Lake RV Resort, which provides affordable water recreation options without needing to bring your own equipment.

What campers like

Shuttle service to attractions: Ravenwood RV Resort provides transportation to nearby Silverwood Theme Park. "They even have a shuttle to Silverwood!" reports Marisa S., who also mentions the "beautiful pool, basketball court, volleyball area and small playground."

Mature trees for shade: Tamarack RV Park features established trees that provide relief from summer heat. "A really pretty setting, though the spaces feel a little narrow. I'd definitely come back," says Yolunde S., while Anthony T. notes it's a "fantastic little RV park" with "very clean" bathrooms.

Lake access from campsites: Properties situated on water bodies offer direct access for swimming and paddling. "We got a spot with hookups for our van right by the river. Clean bathrooms, nice showers, dish washing station too," reports Alana R. about her stay at Blue Lake RV Resort.

Proximity to urban amenities: Many parks offer convenience to shopping and restaurants. "Being in the middle of the town Liberty Lake. Minutes from Safeway, McDonalds and Starbucks," observes Travis B. about Liberty Lake RV Campground, making it practical for restocking supplies.

What you should know

Train noise affects some parks: Several campgrounds are located near active rail lines. "A train does run right beside the park. Bring earplugs. But, for all the negatives, you can't beat the location," advises Nancy C. about City Beach RV Park in Sandpoint.

Variable cell service: Connectivity can be inconsistent throughout the area. "Good cell and internet connection," notes Stacey G. about Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park, which provides reliable connectivity in Coeur d'Alene, though more remote parks may have limited service.

Tent camping limitations: Some RV parks near Cocolalla restrict tent placement. "If you're planning to sleep in a tent just be aware that tents have to be placed on a gravel pad," advises Roger P. about Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park, a consideration for non-RV campers.

Seasonal availability: Many parks close during winter months. "Season: May 7 to October 31" is noted for Silverwood RV Park, while Liberty Lake RV Campground and several others remain open year-round for winter camping needs.

Tips for camping with families

Theme park convenience: Silverwood RV Park connects directly to the adjacent amusement park. "You can easily walk from your tent right into the park, which makes it super convenient," explains Brian C., noting it's "the closet place to stay near Silverwood theme park."

Family-friendly facilities: Look for parks with amenities specifically for children. "Kids loved the playground too," Jennifer H. mentions about Silverwood RV Park, which includes recreational facilities designed for younger visitors.

Site selection for comfort: Request sites away from high-traffic areas when traveling with children. "Site 74 backed up to a fence. Had no neighbors. But was furthest from the parks," notes Jason S. about his experience at Silverwood RV Park, showing how site selection affects family comfort.

Water recreation opportunities: Several parks feature swimming areas suitable for children. "My boys are ready to return and so am I. It's just one of those peaceful places that I don't think very many know about," shares Don R. about Blue Lake RV Resort and its family-friendly water activities.

Tips from RVers

Site spacing considerations: RV parks in the region vary widely in how units are positioned. "The sites are close and very open. Make sure you reserve the correct power hookup for your RV," advises Christon C. about Silverwood RV Park.

Dump station locations: Not all rv parks around Cocolalla, Idaho have full hookups at every site. "If you only have a water and electric hook up there is still an on-site dump station," Gabe L. explains about Ravenwood RV Resort, noting that planning ahead for sewer hookups is important.

Access route guidance: Large rigs require specific navigation planning. "If you are coming off of interstate 90, don't use exit 13. The round about is way to small to handle big rig or any camper. The best route is exit 12 big rig friendly," advises Rick Shannon P. about accessing Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park.

Concrete pad benefits: Some parks feature paved sites that improve leveling and stability. "Roads are paved and easy access in and out. Sites are concrete pads with a picnic table also on concrete," explains Brown Sign Junkies about Liberty Lake RV Campground, noting the ease of setup for RVs.
