      River Park RV Park

      Visiting family

We chose this park because it was close to family we were visiting.

      Pros:

      Full hookups

      Laundry mat

      Showers

      Dog park

      Close to interstate

      Cons:

      Uneven sites

      Very close together

Tiny concrete pad, very little grass

No picnic table or fire ring

If you sit outside, your just looking at the side of the RV right next to you.

Lots of fulltimers with pretty rundown sites

Overly concerned about the grass while letting the rest of the park run down

Nothing worth getting pics of here

We will try a different park when we go back.

      Tifton RV Park I-75

      Can’t beat this KOA Journey

I’m only staying one night at this KOA Journey in Tifton but from what I’ve seen you can’t beat it! Tons of amenities including a playground, bathrooms, dog park, 1 mile dog nature hike, large spread out spaces for well over a hundred rigs I’d guess. If you’re planning a trip down 75 through this area, I highly recommend this spot for a stay over or longer.

      Chehaw Park Campground

      Chehaw Stay

Spent only one night but wished we had stayed two.

      Very nice groomed grounds.

Zoo was more of a petting style as there were some goats, hogs, emu and a few others.

Bicycle rides were great. One road near the entrance will take you to a nice lake area that has a floating dock.

Verizon was decent and the is wifi available.

      Tallahassee East Campground

      Do not bother unless emergency

Very run down campgrounds that used to be a KOA and now a Good Sams campground. Not maintained very much even though the few staff tried to clean it a bit. Weeds, not mowed, peeling ceilings in dated bath house with exterior doors that do not close or have keyed entry. Only trash can was in laundry room which was at least open 24 hours but many machines out of order. WiFi only during business hours. Friend stayed in minimal cabin and was dim missing bulbs and smoke detector. They even charge a pet fee to clean cabin after pets.

      Lake Park Campground

      Southern Hospitality!!

Beautiful campground on the water conveniently located. Lots of animals to see and the staff is outstanding, friendly and accommodating. They fed us dinner on Saturday and we’re so kind. Only two tent sites but they are huge and shaded. Very pet friendly.

      Reed Bingham State Park Campground

      Nice Southern Georgia State Park

Older State Park, but well maintained. Stayed 5 nights in site #7 with 30amp and water. The other loop had mostly FHU sites. Both loops contain mostly pull throughs, but we stayed in a back in. Sites are very spacious and close to a central bath house that was opened and well maintained. Lots of Forest hiking/biking trails available along with a nice size lake should you want to drown a worm or two. Explored Moultrie, Adel, and Tifton all of which are nearby.

      Carroll's Country Sausage

      Unique Overnighter

Carroll's Sausage and Country Store RV Park is easy to get to right off Interstate 75 at exit 82.  The campground (CG) has 20 first-come-first-serve 50/30 AMP FHU sites that are all pull through.  The CG area is huge and has lots of room to walk your dogs.  The sites are close but not too close together.  You are right off I-75 so there is a lot of traffic noise, but the noise dies down some the farther you go back from the highway.  Try to arrive early to get one of the sites further away from the interstate. We saw several arriving around noon. The sites are $40 per night but you do get a $10 store credit voucher to shop in their very cool meat market.

The landscape runs the gamut from coastal plain to pine forest," notes one camper.

Paddling excursions: The 375-acre lake at Reed Bingham connects to the Little River, offering paddling routes for various skill levels. "The lake also connects to little river and it is a 3 hour leisurely up river paddle to Red Robin Boat ramp in Adel Georgia (aka Colquitt boat ramp)," explains a reviewer who recommends the downriver paddle as more relaxing.

Farm experience: For a unique camping experience, The Week's Place offers tent sites on a working farm within easy driving distance of Moultrie. "From this property, you can day trip to The Little Grand Canyon, the Okefenokee, Tallahassee, FL, Westville, Macon," according to reviewer Ashley F.

    What you should know

Beach conditions: While Reed Bingham has a designated swimming area, it's more wading than swimming. "The beach for swimming is more of a wading beach and since I have seen the alligators in this lake i do not recommend swimming anywhere else on your own," cautions an experienced camper.

Site types: Several campgrounds offer different site configurations depending on your needs. "Almost all the spots are pull-throughs, water, electric and sewer and cable TV as well. Bathhouse is nice, washers (1) was inop. It's a year round CG," reports a Reed Bingham camper.

    Tips from RVers

Internet access: Campers Delight OFF THE GRID LIVING offers a unique off-grid experience, but those needing connectivity should consider alternatives like Tifton RV Park. "Often places (including hotels) will advertise free WiFi and you're lucky to be able to download an email. Here my wife was able to video conference and we were able to stream movies without issue," notes a satisfied RVer.

Site selection: Choose sites carefully based on your specific needs. "We were placed in a great area that was circular to have all the families together to have a nice circle around the campfire," shares a Sugar Mill RV Park camper, highlighting the importance of requesting specific arrangements when traveling with groups.

Weather considerations: Be prepared for typical south Georgia conditions when camping near Moultrie.
