GuideWe absolutely loved Skidaway Island State Park. The campsites are spacious, bathhouses clean, and the trails are kept very manicured. It’s a small state park but the perfect size to tuck away for a week. There’s also a Publix that’s easily in bike riding distance just outside the gate of the park to pick up groceries.

The trail is nice. Has a walkway across the beach ecosystem, you can see the ground move. It's the cool little crabs running in and out of their holes.
GuideWe absolutely LOVED Skidaway Island camp ground! Huge campsites, gorgeous bike and walking trails, big playground, friendly staff, state of the art welcome center.
TravelerSkidaway Island SP is quite possibly the nicest state park camping facility we’ve yet to visit! The sites are beyond spacious and afford plenty of privacy - and the hookups were conveniently situated at both sites we utilized during our visit. Huge, level tent pads for tent camping are also provided, as are picnic tables and fire rings. Shower and toilet facilities were clean and in excellent repair. The brand-new visitors center is beautiful and staff were courteous & professional to a person! Bird life is abundant and we had deer show up every day to check on us. Hiking trails are outstanding and the picnic/playground areas are fantastic. Skidaway Island SP is a gem with the added bonus of being just a 15 minute drive to downtown Savannah - we will undoubtedly be returning!
GuideWe love Skidaway Island State Park for its large wooded sites, big beautiful trees draped in Spanish moss, clean modern bathrooms, and close proximity to Savannah. We visit this park twice a year and will keep coming back.
RangerNice pine forested campground in gorgeous state park. Excellent trails for walking through spectacular marshes, pine/palm/oak forests. Near Savannah but on Skidaway Island you have very nice remote, scenic feel. Campsites all nice. We stayed in January 2021 and are returning again in February 2021! Love it.
RangerWe stayed at Skidaway Island State Park for 4 nights in May. Even thought the park was full (Memorial Day weekend), it never felt crowded. The spaces are very large and spread out. Many of the campsites have gorgeous Live Oak trees covered in Spanish Moss. The center sites in the campground are pull through with full hookups. The majority are some mix of pull through or back in with water / electric. There are a handful of nature trails that are easily accessible from the campground. The campground is also a short drive from Savannah, so it’s a great base camp for exploring northeastern Georgia.
