Best RV Parks & Resorts near Flovilla, GA

Several RV campgrounds serve the Flovilla area, including High Falls State Park Campground with full hookup sites and two distinct camping areas—riverside and lakeside. Forest Glen Mobile Home and RV Park in nearby Jackson offers 50-amp electrical service and sewer connections, though it prohibits campfires. Atlanta South RV Resort in McDonough provides big rig access with full hookups including 50-amp service, water, and sewer on limestone pads. Sites at Forsyth KOA accommodate larger rigs with pull-through options, though some travelers report leveling challenges. "Definitely an RV park, not resort. No frills and packed tighter than sardines, but easy and convenient for a one night stay on the way to somewhere else," noted one camper about Atlanta South.

RV camping access varies across these parks, with many sites requiring advance reservations, particularly during fall and holiday weekends. Most campgrounds maintain year-round availability, though amenities like swimming pools typically close seasonally. Cell service quality fluctuates throughout the region—reviewers reported spotty WiFi and poor AT&T and Verizon coverage at some locations. Dump stations are available at High Falls and Atlanta South, while several parks accommodate pets with designated walking areas. Highway proximity affects campground noise levels, particularly at Forest Glen which sits adjacent to I-75. Several parks offer propane fill service, laundry facilities, and camp stores with basic supplies, though these amenities vary significantly between locations.

    Perry Ponderosa RV Park

    Safe, well kept campground

My husband and I choose to stay here when in the Macon area. Stayed 3+ months in lot 57, 2 weeks in lot 45 and 1 week in lot 14. Wonderful owners that live on-site. There are several full time campers but never any riffraff. Lots of room for dog's to walk and run their humans. Propane fill station, WiFi, laundry room, shower house, bathroom's and a small playground. Easily accessible right off the highway, level sites, 30 & 50 Amp, Water & Sewer and many pull through sites. A pool would make it 5 stars for me 😀

Hard Labor Creek State Park Campground

    One of the BEST!

We were back at HLC this past weekend and, as always, top-notch park! We have tent camped for several years but recently upgraded to a new (to us) pop up and we had a blast!

We camped at site 26 (one of the newer sites) and it had full hookup (our PUP does not have a bathroom but does have a galley). The site has electric (50 amp and 30 amp service) as well as free cable TV!!

The sites at HLC are well spaced and the bath houses are spotless!!

The park staff is amazing and the camp hosts are always cleaning up and are available if you need anything!

HLC is our go-to spot for a weekend getaway because of the above-mentioned reasons and it is close to home!!

    Claystone Park Campground

    Great campground to visit

I have lived in and around Bibb County, Georgia most of my life and I have always enjoyed going to Tobesofkee Recreation Parks. There were four parks but one was shut down (Flintrock Park). I believe the park was built back in the 60’s. Early morning on Mother’s Day of 2008 a tornado came through leaving destruction to all three parks. The campground bathhouse’s saved around 50 people that were camping when the tornado came ripping through destroying campers, cars and trees. The county has rebuilt the three parks and each one offers a little something different. It’s pretty great place in my opinion.

Claystone Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, large beach, playground, water sports, boat ramps, fishing, disc golf, several small pavilions, one large enclosed pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park and camping. The campground has 45 sites, some tents, back-ups and pull through. Not sure about tents sites but all camper sites have 20/30/50 amp service, water and poor cable service. There are a few sites with sewer. The campground does have a nice bathhouse with coin operated laundry.

Sandy Beach Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, large beach, water sports, fishing, several small pavilions, one large open pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park and a water park.

Arrowhead Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, small beach, water sports, fishing, several small pavilions, one large open pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park, mountain bike trail, playground, boat ramps and camping. The campground has 58 sites, some tents, back-ups and pull through. Not sure about tents sites but all camper sites have 20/30/50 amp service and water; no cable. There are a few sites with sewer. The campground does have two nice bathhouse with coin operated laundry.

    High Falls State Park Campground

    Beautiful

The park is gorgeous and well maintained. It’s a little tight in a place or two but we’re pulling a 40’ fifth wheel and had no problems. We stayed in spot 71 which was a pull through with large lot that was really nice. Fire pit, picnic table and grill as well. I’m uploading a set of maps. You definitely need them as the sites are marked nicely but the areas are not and it’s very confusing. Also if you use maps on a device make sure you add campground because there are a few other places you don’t want to go pulling a rig since the campground is in a state park. Great for hiking, biking, fishing etc. Plain on zero internet or cell coverage. I’m all about the camping adventure but I like to be able to contact the kids if needed. Overall great place.

    High Falls State Park Campground

    Falls

Went to High Falls State Park in January. site number 27. We stayed 8 nights There are two campgrounds- lakeside and River camping area. Lakeside is by High falls Lake and is closest to the falls. River camping is across the street we stayed in River camping area. Nice sites but open to neighbors. Sites included table, fire ring, lantern hook. Some sites are 30 amp some 50 amp and had some pull through sites. After the weekend we were one of only a few in the campground in January. Weather may change this time of year we had a lot of rain one day and freezing temperatures overnight but mostly it was good camping weather. Camp hosts were awesome!!! This park is not far off i-75. Dollar general was a few miles other than that not much around. Very easy hiking trail to waterfalls and several trails along Towaliga River, ruins of an old Mill. There is no swimming in falls or river. Afterr rain falls were flowing very fast. This park also has a swimming pool, mini golf, yurts, boat rentals all were closed in January. Bathhouses were well maintained and had laundry facilities. Phone and TV reception we're good at this park. 8 days was too much here I would recommend 4 to 5 days or as a stopover point but would definitely return here.

"First trip with new camper... great lil hidden gem in the middle of Georgia! very nice pool and playground and tons of fishing. lots of local places to eat also," notes one camper at Scenic Mountain RV Park.

Visit historic sites: The area around Flovilla provides access to historic landmarks. "We were on our own little adventure to see ghosts! We were trying to find a place that was close to the old state mental hospital and we came across this little gem of a place," describes a visitor at Scenic Mountain RV Park. Many campgrounds serve as convenient bases for exploring regional history.

Swimming and recreation: Most RV parks within 30 miles of Flovilla offer seasonal swimming pools between Memorial Day and Labor Day. "The bathhouse & laundry facilities are super clean! "Clean and beautifully maintained facilities and grounds," notes a reviewer at Scenic Mountain RV Park. Another camper at Big Country Camping states, "Very nice owners. Very quiet and peaceful location. I had a full hookup site. Owners helped me get situated. Loaned me a water hose."

Proximity to Interstate 75: Many travelers appreciate the convenience of RV parks near the interstate. "Easy drive thoughts with full hookup. Very clean pool but closes at 8pm with no lights. Fine if you need a spot over night," explains a camper at Interstate RV Park. This location allows for quick overnight stops during longer journeys.

Pet-friendly environments: Most rv campgrounds in Flovilla and surrounding areas welcome pets. "Lots of room for dog's to walk and run their humans. Propane fill station, WiFi, laundry room, shower house, bathroom's and a small playground," shares a camper who stayed at Perry Ponderosa RV Park for over three months.

What you should know

Varying site sizes: RV site dimensions differ significantly between campgrounds. "Spacious pull-through sites with 50/30/20 amp service, with new upgraded electrical. Water and sewer," reports a camper at Safe Haven RV Park, while others mention tighter accommodations at different facilities.

Long-term versus overnight stays: Many RV parks near Flovilla serve both transient and permanent residents. "Less than a half mile off of 75, this is a nice little stop for overnights, however the monthly rates also make it economical for longer stays," explains a camper at Safe Haven RV Park. Several campgrounds maintain a mixture of overnight spots and monthly rentals.

Variable quality between parks: Campground conditions range from pristine to problematic. "I'm new to RV life but this place is very nice, clean and well manicured. And only $40 a night," notes a Perry Ponderosa visitor, while reviews for other properties highlight significant maintenance issues.

Tips for camping with families

Find campgrounds with play areas: When traveling with children, select parks with recreational facilities. "There appears to be a picnic table every 2 sites. We didn't get out and explore much, as we were just stopping overnight," mentions a camper at Safe Haven RV Park. Big Country Camping offers "a pool and plenty of grounds for the dogs."

Consider security features: Family safety varies between properties. "It is gated and there is a fob for everything for safety. It is a great place the manager here is awesome," reports a long-term resident at Riverside Estates RV Park.

Scout for family-friendly activities: Some campgrounds provide more child-appropriate settings than others. "Not a lot of light but if you have your fire pit going and your flashlight you'll be good. There are some nice short trails and a small dog park with agility equipment," notes a winter visitor to Scenic Mountain RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Leveling challenges: Prepare for varied terrain at campgrounds around Flovilla. "Stayed in this park for a week, they are very old-school with the reservation method and only accepted cash or checks when we stayed. The spot we had was small, but worked. I did have some power issues on the 30amp, but worked fine on the 50 with my adapter," advises an RVer who stayed at Perry Ponderosa.

Road access considerations: Some RV parks have challenging entrances. "Getting there: I highly recommend following the directions from their website (especially at night) as it provides some landmarks that are helpful. We are 42' towing an SUV, and the last right hand turn to get onto their road was a little tight, but we made it," cautions a Safe Haven RV Park visitor.

Reservation policies: Most rv campgrounds near Flovilla Georgia require advance booking. "There are no online reservations, so you need to call or use the online registration request form, if nobody answers just leave a message and they'll be right back with you," explains a Safe Haven RV Park camper about their booking process.
