There are 10 undeveloped campsites near Crosho Lake. The area is popular for fishing in the lake. The Crosho Lake Recreation Area is located 10 miles northwest of Yampa at the base of the Little Flat Tops. High clearance and 4WD is required. There is one vault toilet. (No fire grates and no picnic tables)

All sites are first come, first serve, no reservations accepted, so you will need to get there early in order to get a site! The lake has rainbow trout and Greyling, but for some reason, no matter what we fish with, we always get skunked, so bring food or you'll starve!

Perfect Hideaway Lake

We spent the weekend near Crosho lake and had an awesome time! The trail to the lake is bumpy, and I would recommend a 4x4 vehicle to get to this lake. There are around 10-14 dispersed camp sites right next to Crosho lake where you can wake up, and go paddle boarding right away. The dispersed camp spots are close to one another, so if you prefer privacy and the sound of silence I recommend going down the road to Allen Basin Reservoir where more dispersed camp spots can be found.

Crosho lake

The site was really clean and even though we headed up Friday morning there were still a ton a spaces. There was enough space that even our group of 8 was secluded. Fishing in the lake was great.
