Best Cabin Camping near Palo Verde, CA

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Cabin accommodations near Palo Verde include waterfront options at Arizona Oasis RV Resort and River Sands RV Resort, both offering furnished units with air conditioning. Arizona Oasis provides cabin rentals along the Colorado River with access to swimming areas, boat launches, and resort amenities including a swimming pool and recreation hall. The Cove RV Resort features waterfront cabins with beach access and full bathroom facilities. "We stayed in the mini houses and they are perfect for a few couples and small children," noted one visitor about the Arizona Oasis cabins.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. American Trails RV Park offers tiny cabins in Quartzsite with full hookup accessibility and on-site showers. Military families can access cabin accommodations at USMC Venture Lodging on Martinez Lake, where concrete pads and 50-amp electrical service support cabin units. Most properties accept pets in their cabin units, though specific restrictions may apply. A visitor commented, "The cabins are basic with beds and air conditioning with community shared showers and bathrooms" at Arizona Oasis.

Most cabin rentals include beds and air conditioning but require guests to bring their own linens, pillows, and personal toiletries. Kitchen facilities vary significantly between properties, with some offering only minimal cooking equipment while others provide more complete setups. On-site markets exist at several locations including The Cove RV Resort and River Sands RV Resort, though selection is limited. Nearby towns like Ehrenberg and Blythe offer more comprehensive shopping options for cabin guests requiring additional supplies. Winter visitors should confirm availability as many cabin properties fill quickly with seasonal residents during cooler months.

    Arizona Oasis RV Resort

    They have it all

From rv with full hooks ups, cabin rentals which are basic, beds and air with community shared showers and bathrooms. Mini houses to rent which we stayed in and they are perfect for a few couples and small Children. Nice pool only problem is it’s a little to warm with it being so hot. The hot tub, kid pool and pool were all the exact same temp, water front access to the river and boat launch bring a pop up because barely any shade if you plan to play on the shore Great place for sure! Covered rv parking for an additional fee as well as playground for children and dog run for your fur babies.

    Arizona Oasis RV Resort

    Right on the Colorado River

Easy in and out off the 10 freeway, large rv friendly, river spots back up to a grassy area on the river, cabin and RV rentals available, laundry room, clean facilities and friendly staff. Right on the California/ AZ border, close to Blythe for groceries and restaurants. Great place for off road vehicles since you can drive to the desert trails in about 2 minutes and ride for hours. All sites are full hook up, streets are gravel, sites have a cement pad and the rest is gravel and can accommodate even the longest set ups.

    Ehrenberg/River Sands KOA Holiday

    A brand new desert oasis!*

Huge resort with spacious spots and full hook up’s. Mostly flat with paved roads everywhere you will take your rv/camper on your visit. Close and easy access to Colorado River for swimming, boating, seadoos and off-leash dog walking/playing. Exceptional clubhouse with a gym and enough room to stretch out, remote work, or to catch a game with fam and friends on their big flat screen tv. Firepit and golf cart rentals plus smores kits and doggie bags with a bandana, dog toy and treats are also available. Super pet and kid friendly with play systems and a 2000sqft dog park. The store could use more ‘store’ items but there is a family dollar directly across the street.

They also have tiny homes for rent and I think the longest rv spot is almost 72-80’ long.

Clean bathhouse and laundry facilities. Free WiFi. So much to mention and I know I’m missing something but I hope i helped.

Don’t forget to ask Lou if you can purchase the wakeboard in the office. And tell them you heard about the first flight discount for 20% off.

*The resort is really big. About a half mile long or more. If you have trouble doing long walks or walking in general then renting a golf cart is highly recommended.

USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake

    Away from everything

It is an easy thirty or forty minutes to a gas station so fill up when you see the Circle K and Chevron next to each other if coming from Yuma.  If coming from the north Quartzsite is probably your last chance for gas.  It is in the middle of nothing and nowhere, a little oasis with little to no cellphone signal.  The roads are currently undergoing heavy upgrading so be ready for long travel times and keep an eye out for the wildlife at night.  It was easily over 100F so the water feels nice.  They are currently waiting on their own motorized equipment but until it is ready you can still rent paddle boards and the like to go on the water.

As noted in other reviews the sites are water and electric only with no dumpsite.  The sites are almost on top of one another as well.  We had enough room to use our picnic table between our camper and the slide out of the fifth wheel next to us.  The camper on our other side was in a similar situation.  The sites back right up to the water.  If you are looking to lose yourself for a few days, this is the place.  The store packs the basics to include ice.

    The Cove RV Resort

    Amazing campsite

Probably one of the best spots I’ve been to. We camped on the waterfront sites right above the beach and it was perfect. We had groups in F3, F4 and F5. The spots are a bit tight but once we found out the parking in the front (15 steps away) was free to park in the whole time we moved our truck and had plenty of room. The beach was great and the boat launch is right next to it. The store, game room (pool table, ping pong table, arcade games) and pool were awesome and really nice! Workers were great and kind. Free wifi and it worked great. Laundry mat, showers, bathrooms all in good condition. Not one complaint and cannot wait to be back.

USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake

    Beautiful and remote

Once you leave I-8 it’s about 35-55 minutes back to major services. I hear Fischer’s Landing has a new convenience store. The office has beer, soft drinks and a few choices of hard stuff. The RV pads are cement and level. Our rig is 24 feet and we fit very well on the pad. This is a military only facility so you must be either active duty or retired to utilize. The description says “full hookup” but alas, it is only electric and water. The electric service is only 50 amp (I noted that in a prior review, thank you for the warning). An 50 to 30 adapter is a good thing to have and it worked flawless. The water pressure is very adequate. I would definitely make this a come back to place. The park staff were extremely helpful. When we left, we turn right at the access road to Fischer’s Landing. The dump station is in the screen building with all the golf carts, this is to the left of the store. The screen door is unlocked. You will find the key for the dump station padlock hanging by a 2” piece of pvc pipe. There is a lock box next to it. The cost is $5.00 to dump. It’s on the Pooh honor system, which I found very cool. There is also attached non potable water hose for tank flush out. A bit inconvenient if staying a month but a day or two was no problem.

USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake

    Great location, questionable staff

Quiet, clean, remote little military family camp on Lake Martinez with concrete RV sites and full hook ups, 50 amp electric only, but they have a loaner 30 amp adapter if they can find it. Park models and cabins available for those who do not tent camp or RV. Various types of water craft available for rent and limited docking for your own boat.

Easy to get camp site reservations in Summer. Have not tried here in winter as the place fills up with military retirees/ snow birds.

Staff on the other hand is mentally lost at best. Seems like they don’t really know what’s what most of the time ( refer back to the 50/30 amp adaptor that they usually can’t find as their storage location is on the floor beside the desk). The store is adequately stocked with alcohol, USMC souvenirs, but very lacking the things campers need most often, ie toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap etc. they don’t even sell popcorn, how can one camp without popcorn.

Despite the “lost in space” staff and the “non” mercantile in a remote place, I give this place 4 stars as it is quiet, inexpensive and a great little spot away from the city.

    The Cove RV Resort

Nice Spot Overlooking the River But Would Not Stay Again

We are in a site with full hook-ups. Campground wifi (with Winegard booster) is good. Everything about this campground is old and unkept. Wouldn’t touch the bathrooms, showers, or laundry facilities. We are parked underneath the huge gas pipeline that spans the Colorado River at this spot. Staff is nice and helpful.

Guide to Palo Verde

Cabin camping near Palo Verde, California offers desert solace along the Colorado River at elevations near 300 feet. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 100°F between May and September, making air conditioning essential for cabin rentals. Winter daytime temperatures average 65-75°F, drawing seasonal residents who often book accommodations months in advance.

What to do

River activities along the Colorado River: The Colorado River provides swimming areas with varying currents. "The Colorado River was lovely. Sunsets nice too," notes a visitor at Arizona Oasis RV Resort. Rental watercraft options are available at several resorts when river conditions permit.

Fishing opportunities: Fishing spots are available along the riverfront at multiple cabin locations. A visitor at USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake reports, "If you are looking to lose yourself for a few days, this is the place. The store packs the basics to include ice." Fishing licenses are required.

Off-road vehicle access: Cabin locations provide quick access to desert trails. "Great place for off road vehicles since you can drive to the desert trails in about 2 minutes and ride for hours," notes one camper about the terrain near cabin accommodations.

What campers like

Swimming options: Many cabins provide direct water access. At The Cove RV Resort, "We camped on the waterfront sites right above the beach and it was perfect. The beach was great and the boat launch is right next to it."

Game rooms and recreational facilities: Indoor recreation supplements outdoor activities. "The store, game room (pool table, ping pong table, arcade games) and pool were awesome and really nice," reports a camper about The Cove RV Resort's amenities.

Pet-friendly accommodations: Most cabin rentals welcome dogs. River Sands RV Resort provides "a 2000sqft dog park" and offers "doggie bags with a bandana, dog toy and treats," according to visitor feedback.

What you should know

Seasonal considerations: Winter months bring snowbirds who book cabins well in advance. "It is an easy thirty or forty minutes to a gas station so fill up when you see the Circle K and Chevron next to each other if coming from Yuma," advises a visitor to USMC Venture Lodging.

Limited shopping options: Grocery selection varies significantly between locations. "The store is adequately stocked with alcohol, USMC souvenirs, but very lacking the things campers need most often, ie toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap etc.," notes one military camper.

Insect concerns: Evening insects can affect outdoor activities. At Arizona Oasis, one visitor reported, "The mosquitoes were TERRIBLE as soon as the sun began to set. Kids had so many bites from the first night we did not enjoy going out once the sun began setting."

Tips for camping with families

Playground amenities: Several properties offer play areas for children. Sans End RV Park provides "pool, rec room" and notes that upgrades are occurring: "During our stay, the laundry, bathrooms, and activity center were being remodeled."

Water safety awareness: River currents can be strong in certain areas. "We brought our kayaks but the water was flowing way too fast and boats were driving by at high speed so we never got to use them," reports one family about river conditions.

Bathroom facility variations: Shared facilities differ between properties. American Trails RV Park offers "tiny cabins" with access to shared shower and restroom facilities, similar to arrangements at other properties in the area.

Tips from RVers

Wi-Fi reliability: Internet access varies significantly between cabin locations. At Sans End RV Park, a visitor noted, "the wifi still lacks a lot to be desired and the cell service is marginal" - a common challenge in the region.

Space considerations: Cabin layouts and site spacing varies across properties. At Gateway Ranch RV Resort, "Sites are good size. Clean area. Quiet place except for road noise. Close to Quartzite and Parker," according to visitor feedback.

Transportation options: Some larger resorts offer internal transportation. River Sands RV Resort provides golf cart rentals, with one visitor noting: "The resort is really big. About a half mile long or more. If you have trouble doing long walks or walking in general then renting a golf cart is highly recommended."
