Our family's heritage in the San Joaquin Valley is over 100 years, we are California grown! The land was purchased from the railroad in 1908 by Grandpa Coen when he immigrated to the USA after his service to the British Empire during WW1. Grandpa established and maintained the vineyards during his life in California's Central Valley which he left to his daughter, Irene. She kept the farming tradition going with her husband, Al, and they expanded by purchasing surrounding land and planting more vines. Today their daughter, Cheryl, and son-in-law Randy continue the family farming tradition for the next century.

We are working vineyards of 100 acres and family-owned for 100+ years. We have wide-open spaces to enjoy the peace and quiet of country life.

Camping by reservation only. Harvesting activities in September can reduce availability.

There is nobody on-site and no store to purchase products, our vineyards produce Sun Maid Raisins (not wine).

    Sequoia RV Park

    Pretty view from the park

Bottom line....Make sure if you are following your gps, you key in Sequoia RV Park and not the one with RV resort. There are many ways to arrive here, but the most direct and easiest is on California State Highway 180. The park is open, but the office is not, so it’s find a spot and check yourself in. The manager Carlos stopped by a few hours after we were set up. The park staff is super friendly. Will be stopping by here again if we are over this way again. The views from the park are postcard beautiful

    It's a place to stay.

Friendly staff, well kept grounds, solid amenities. Many long term guests, a few of which were a bit noisy. I stayed here in a pinch in one of the tent sites. It's a grass patch in the middle of an RV park. I didn't expect more. I might stay again in a pinch, but I'd probably just get a cheap motel room.

Bridalveil Creek Campground — Yosemite National Park

Not just group and horse camps

These sites are first come, first serve which is good and bad. Doesn't fill up like some of the year round sites right by half dome and it's really not that far if you want to get some awesome views.

Good space for tents and you're semi secluded from other campers and not as many RVs/Trailers as some of the other campgrounds.

Decent access to drinking water and each site has tables and fire rings, no RV hookups (another reason you have more "campers" and it's less noisy at night).

    Camp Edison

    Very close to beautiful lake

We rented an RV and had it delivered to the campsite and set up; all sites have electric hookups and water spigots nearby, but one loop has full RV hookups at each spot. We were very close to the lake, just a short walk, and it's beautiful. Super clear, relaxing sounds, easy trails all along. It might be because it's the first week of reservations (and no tent camping till next Tuesday bc Covid), but we haven't been running into anyone walking on the trails. It's kind of insane how quiet and remote it seems because of that, but I can't say how it'll be next week. Still, something to be said for going not in the middle of the season!

    Sequoia RV Park

    Excellent

From Facebook review on Feb 26, 2020 by George K.“The best thing about Sequoia RV Park is the couple who manage it. Luz and Carlos are just a pleasure to be around- they are super helpful and always ready to chat or give advice or recommendations. Add to this the full range of services, easily accessible and level sites, an onsite laundry and showers, free WiFi and FREE firewood, then you have a good picture of what awaits you. We only spent one night, but they will definitely see us again. So, if you're looking for the closest RV/tent sites to King's Canyon and Sequoia National Park and a great deal on wonderful accommodation, look no further than Sequoia RV Park”

    Always great

Camp Edison is a private campground. Sites vary in size and price. Some spots come with full hook ups all have electricity. Bathrooms with flush toilets are always clean. Shower cards are available. There are plenty of trails leading to the lake and beach spots too. You can rent boats, kayaks etc from the Shaver Lake Marina. Mix of tent/RV campers, lots of kids.

Peaceful stop on the way to Yosemite

We were Looking for a place to stop on the way to Yosemite. We tried 2 other campgrounds with NO response, by phone or email. We decided to try calling Lindy‘s Landing and Campground to see if there was an availability. They answer the phone! She told us there were plenty of sites. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are not a lot of campers here, and it is quiet and peaceful. It is 81 miles from here to Yosemite Village. Hope to get an early start so we can beat the line going into the park. Hidden gem in the Spring. Happy we found this park. $35.00 for full hookups. No good Sam or auto club discount. But still a better price than most private campgrounds

    Sequoia RV Park

    False Advertisement!

I am so disappointed and feel cheated with this campground. We drove 4.5 hours to find that this campsite is dead, totally different place than the one in the website and pictures. Everything was dried up, 5-6 campsites were out of order due to electrical problems, Wifi does not work, and pond is dry ! When we got there they said just park any open site, so basically they don’t reserve you a campsite online so its all a surprise until you get there. They were holding spots for people that just reserved that same day. We felt so frustrated and cheated. This campground is more for long term living RV’ers. or for overnight stays. Luz was very nice lady in charge but I would definitely not stay here again.

    Great Hosts but Close Sites

We stayed in the premium sites at this camp ground.  Loved the hosts.  They were wonderful to work with and very accommodating.  The premium sites include full hook-ups — water, electric and sewer.  We were in site 43.  We were told that during COVID that they they were keeping sites in between those rented open for social distancing, however this did not apply to premium sites.  Spaces were VERY close!

Despite this, we still would highly recommend this campground!  Especially if you are visiting Yosemite!  It is clean, bathrooms in great condition, WiFi was good and limited free and as mentioned earlier hosts/owners were GREAT!

    Room to Roam

We have been coming to Camp Edison annually for the past 15 years and have never been disappointed. Each site has plenty of room and includes a picnic table and fire pit. It’s a short walk to Shaver Lake from virtually any of the sites, and several have a nice view of the lake. Fishing, boating, swimming or just picnicking on one of the many beaches surrounding the lake is a great way to spend your time. Some sites have full hook ups, but most have just electricity and cable TV, with water faucets nearby to fill your RV or use as needed if dry camping. There is a dump station on site and also a “honey wagon” that will come to your site and pump out your waste water, if you desire. Restrooms are clean and plentiful and each has a shower (25 cents for 2 minutes). The laundromat has come in handy several times, too. Camp Edison has great activities during the summer season including guided educational nature walks, both day and evening, as well as kids’ movies in the amphitheater. There is also a museum on site that offers activities and fun events like an ice cream social.

    Nice place to get away

Nice place to get away for the week. There are only two sites that have full hook ups. Site 4 is not one of them. The restrooms were not very clean and the cleaning crew really needs to be replaced. Camp sights were busy with one day visitors. Weekend camping was busy with lots of noise, but the weekdays were quiet. Pine Flat Lake is really low with a long walk down to the lake. Drove over to the group camp sites and they have volleyball, corn hole and large covered picnic areas with extra large fire rings and bbq area. Water was available no power but they did have restrooms for both sites.

    Unplug and Enjoy Nature

We stayed at this campground may years ago (2006-2008) and it has remained one of our favorites.

Our most recent stay was for a small rally of 8 class A RVs from 34' to 43' in length all with tow vehicles. Wishon was able to accommodate all of us. The drive to Wishon starts with a long climb to Shaver Lake.  Past Shaver Lake the road becomes windy for the remainder of the drive.  Expect at least a 40+ minute drive from the Shaver lake turn off. On the way you will pass a grove of Giant Sequoia trees with a pull out to walk or picnic among them.

All sites are gravel and have full hook ups.  Some sites have 50 amp service but it will rarely be needed because of the elevation of 6800 feet. All sites will accommodate the RV, vehicle, boat, and more. Wishon also has tent sites with or without platforms.

There are many activities available from this campground. Hiking, mountain bike riding, Jeep trails (Dusy-Ershim Trail), and fishing.   Two reservoirs are nearby, Wishon and Courtright. Courtright at 8200' opens later than Wishon at 6600'. Rainbow and German Browns can be caught.

Wishon Village has a nice store with most necessities and sells fishing licenses.

Yosemite West / Mariposa KOA (Midpines, CA) - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Mariposa KOA is a great way to see Yosemite

So if you didn't know, to camp inside Yosemite National Park, you must book your reservation a year in advance or take a chance on trying to get one of the first come first serve sites. The problem is your only a few hours from Sacramento and 4 or 5 hours from LA, so the locals have an advantage on getting the first come first serve sites. I live in Iowa, and if you are like me, planning a trip a year in advance, with kids school schedules and activities, and to travel 1,700 miles to Yosemite National Park is impossible. So a good alternative is booking the Mariposa KOA about thirty miles from the Arch Rock entrance to Yosemite National Park. If you don't want to drive into the park there is even a bus that passes the entrance to the campground. It costs about the same as a Motel 6, but it is clean and has a lot of amenities including a pool, fudge shop, and an ice cream shop. It has tent sites and RV sites, and they are separated so if you are tenting you don't have to stare at camper trailers and RVs. I give it a four out of five because you still have to drive thirty miles to get to the park and the shower house isn't very large so you generally have to wait in a twenty minute line to take a shower. Bottomline, if you are traveling from a long distance I highly recommend Mariposa KOA to visit Yosemite National Park.

Goat Meadow - Dispersed Camp Site

Amazing off grid Location, Quiet, RV access

After accidentally driving to this location following the directions of another reviewer for the “Yosemite Boondocks” campground across 41 (which we never found) we were very happy with this location.

First, to tell you how to properly get here and find all the spots, drive to the end of the road (don’t pay attention to the gate and “off road” dirt road you see to the left before the parking lot. Don’t go there. Go to just before the big Snow Play parking lot and head right through the dirt. There is no paved road but the area is flat and any car, truck or rv/trailer can make it back here easily. I got nervous at first about ability to turnaround so I parked prematurely near the entrance. Keep going and you’ll find at least 4 or 5 big private areas separated by huge cut logs all with plenty of room to turnaround and not have to back up.

If you’re nervous, we watched several cars, vans, and trailers camp overnight in the big paved parking lot right past this, and that’s fine, but you’re in a parking lot. Come out to the right and you’re in heaven.

We were the only RV here and had it to ourselves an entire week (granted it’s early November). Can’t beat the proximity to Yosemite south entrance.

After November 1st, the office is closed and the RV park is on autopilot. There is no hot water in the bathrooms, which are not maintained. Site #125 had a faulty ground, so we used power from site #124. We basically were the last to leave on December 1st, closing day. The lodge next door has great wifi, a gift shop and a lobby with hot drinks. Location is very good for access to Yosemite.

Bass Lake at Yosemite RV Resort

Large campground, great amenities, lots of trees

Fairly big campground, with some spots having a good amount of privacy in a forest. Our site (#162) was large enough, although not very level. The sewer connection was almost level with our dump pipe, so it made dumping a challenge. The "Downtown" area, which is the center of the campground, has spots for members only, but they're very close together. Maybe good for group get-togethers where you are 10' from your neighbor. Amenities include a pool, day room with tons of things to do, a separate day room for kids, a large fire pit, showers, store at the office, horseshoe and 2 shuffleboard courts. While we were there, they played movies at sunset next to the pool. Close to Yosemite, the Sugarpine railroad and a decent-sized town. Temps were in the 80's. Overall a very nicely maintained place to stay. Staff seemed a bit aloof, but maybe they were all just busy. It's a large place. We actually loved the interaction with the staff at 49er RV Park, which was a lot smaller.

    Shaver lake is awesome!

It's a pretty RV park. The hiking trails are great, scenery was amazing! There are fire rings and picnic tables. There is a great store that has everything you could want or need! Bathroom review, again: the cleanest! Flush toilets and coin operated showers! There are water spigots and an outdoor sink area for dishes, so helpful! Racoon and squirrels are always around looking for food, so I just use a bear can and store my food, here. It's just easier. RV sites and REALLY LARGE tent sites! Some of the biggest I've been to. The fishing was good, the only con is music is not permitted at all. Bring headphones. You will be asked to turn it off and possibly leave.

    Easy Gateway to Yosemite

This campground is a 45 minute bus ride from Yosemite Village. I sent an email the day before to check availability but didn’t get a response. I called the day-of and was excited to find they had a space with hookups, despite it being spring break week. Maybe the predictions for snow in Yosemite kept the crowds away? There were three amenities at this campground that were a pleasant surprise:

    1. The YART bus (that shuttles you into the park) stops at the hotel next door. It doesn’t run frequently, and we had to catch it really early (7 am), but it was $20 for a family of four (round trip), and that included admission to the park. It was so easy to leave the RV parked, not worry about driving in and parking, having no concern about snow/chains/etc.

    2. The Cedar Lodge next door has an indoor and outdoor pool available for the RV campers to use. The outdoor pool was closed for the season, but the indoor pool was heated to at least 100 degrees so it made our morning swimming delightful.

    3. The Cedar Lodge next door also has two restaurants, a bar/casual type and one slightly fancier. We ate at the casual one and it wasn’t great, but it was nice to have someone else make dinner after a long day in the park.

The folks checking us in the office were very nice and helpful. The campground has four unisex bathrooms that weren’t fancy, but functioned. There were a handful of shower stalls as well. The one I used had amazing water pressure and plenty of hot water.

We were worried about the proximity to the road, but there were almost no cars on the road for most of the night. There is no cell service in the area. The campground does offer 24 hours of WiFi for $9.99. We didn’t purchase, so I’m not sure how strong/fast the signal was.

Overall, we had a great stay!

    Eshom Campground

    Hidden gem

This place is REALLY out there. Seriously. While it is technically in Sequoia, it is very far off the beaten path and usually the roads to get there are super shitty and super winding (not recommended at night unless you're used to those conditions). But that's what keeps this place a secret!

If your camper/trailer is more than 17-18ft, do NOT attempt to come here, you'll probably get stuck on the way. You can get to the Scenic Byway by taking one of the forest routes as a shortcut (I wouldn't recommend it for vehicles that aren't either trucks or 4x4 SUVs…you will bottom-out in anything else, bc the road isn't maintained). I'm not sure how long it takes to get to the main pard via the regular routes.

There are several resident bears in the area, so you MUST take it seriously. Our site was visited nightly but bc we didn't leave food out it was fine. They come for the wild berry patches nearby. The toilets are fine (standard vault toilets) and there is running water. No showers or anything else.

We love how quiet and remote this place is, it's a favorite

Wawona Campground — Yosemite National Park

    Great campground

I really recommend this campground. I can come here and play online games with my family. The campground offers both reservable and first-come, first-served campsites. The sites are relatively spacious and provide a mix of shade and sun. Each campsite typically includes a fire ring, picnic table, and food storage locker. It provides basic amenities such as restrooms with flushing toilets and drinking water. However, it does not offer showers or hookups for RVs. There are no electrical or water connections at individual campsites. The campground's location provides access to various outdoor activities. Nearby attractions include the Mariposa Grove, where you can explore giant sequoias, and the Wawona Golf Course. Additionally, there are hiking trails, scenic drives, and opportunities for wildlife viewing in the area.

    Lake McSwain Recreation Area

    Great hospitality!

My family and I stayed at Lake McSwain Campgrounds for a weekend during a mountain bike race at Exchequer. We showed up with our 24' trailer on Friday, and even though it was February, they brought on staff to get us all checked in since it was so busy because of the race. There was a short line to get in to the campground, but we didn't wait long and the staff was helpful and friendly. The site was a good size for two trucks and the trailer. The site was not too close to the water, not too far. The bathrooms had showers which we used since our site didn't have a sewer hookup. The site did have water and power though. The marina isn't normally open in February, but they opened due to the volume of campers that weekend. They stocked up on the basics and even had hot coffee and breakfast burritos in the morning and sandwiches at lunch. On Sunday, we moved over to a full hookup site and it was level and felt private. We camped next to some friends and stayed up around the campfire and made smores. The kids rode their bikes around the campgrounds alllll day. They had a blast! Thanks, MID!
