No Bueno

Didn't enjoy our time here. We stayed here for a few weeks in our pull behind trailer. It seemed very much so like a trailer park. There were some unique individuals there. We made friends with our neighbors and the park manager told us to end our evening (it was only 8pm). It wasn't a very…

Beautiful place

The camping sites are nice and spacious with plenty of area between sites. Lots of pretty views anywhere you camp and lots of shade and brush. Check out a trail while at the campground. Feels so secluded with the views of the surrounding hills.

I absolutely loved the town of big bear. The forest and lake was definitely nice to be around!

Great spot!

Site 1. Slight uphill climb from the car. Nice overlooking spot. Lots of trees, bit of bugs. Weather was perfect. Spacious.

It was great!

The staff members were really nice, seemed clean over all, not too far from the town of big bear.

Quiet, spacious

I only saw the first 9 or so sites and stayed I think at site #9. For the most part, spacious spots, fire ring, picnic table, a lot of trees, and varied slopes. Road in is placed initially then dirt but is fine. There's other rough roads further in and access to hikes nearby. I loved how quiet it…

Great short trip close to big bear

The place is great. It has firepits and picnic tables. Plenty of trees for shade but some yellow post sites are steeper than others. I stayed at yellow post 12. The camp sites are close but still quiet. Verizon had 2 bars but very slow internet. Phone calls are okay. For a spot that's free and no…

Excellent spot

Stayed here in August, a beautiful spot shaded by lots of trees, just a short walk or bike ride to the lake and observatory. Friendly staff.

Midweek Summer in Idyllwild

Nice quiet campground within walking distance to downtown Idyllwild. Water available near sites. We were in a pop up camper. Most sites are suitable for tents only, backing in to our site was an adventure. Great hiking trails start in the campground. Showers are coin operated.

Cozy-ish

Stayed mid-week in late July 2021, not at all crowded. There is no camp host or ranger, kind of a free for all. Overall I guess I’d come back but here are the pros and cons:

Spaces Most spaces on the outside of the loop are woodsy and pretty private (stay away from inside the loop unless you want…

Nice local getaway

We like coming here because it’s close to us and a nice little getaway to relax and make sure all our gear is good to go for our longer camping trips. A lot of trails around and the town is close by with a store and restaurants. Bathrooms are always clean everyone at campsites are good on being…
