Near highway, access road is narrow and a little rough. Called to check availability, staff seamed very nice, sent text with directions and check in info. Very reasonable for full hook-up and 50 amp service.
They knew they had no power and didn’t give us a heads up before showing up. We paid for FHU which means full hook up. No refund and no options to help us. They just told us to deal with it.
This casino RV park has all hook-ups, is very well-maintained, and our pull-through site was level. They have free laundry facilities and clean individual bathrooms with showers, ADA accessible with shower chairs. There are picnic tables and grills available nearby. Trash pickup offered daily between 8-9 am. No reservations, first come basis, we were second to arrive around 5pm and more came in later but there were spaces available next morning (they have a total of 18 pull-through and 9 back-in sites, concrete pads).
We actually stay here unlike the other reviews that were written before the rv park was opened. I don't get why they left a one star when they were never guests at the rv park. I think that the people at "the dyrt" have some explaining to do over this because that is not right.
We love this rv park and the people who run it are great. They are quick to help and are working on making this place great.
A park has been at this location since 1955. It was originally a trailer park but has been converted to a RV park. Located in flat farm land a few miles from Blytheville There is no pool or playground. RV’er will find flat gravel sites that can handle most if not all rigs. They have sites with 30 and 50 amp service. You will find rates for daily weekly and monthly. Some mature trees for shade and some full sun sites.
Paved lots, close together, has tables and outside grills. Very clean. RV stay is $40.00/NIGHT. GIVES $5.00 Good Sam discount. First come first serve. Is located at Century Casino. Quiet and peaceful park. It is 5:30 pm on Saturday and plenty of empty spots.
For a state park it was pretty quiet. We're Seniors and I think we were the loudest..lol. Has shower and bathrooms, pavilions available to rent and a few cabins. Its small for rv park..we liked Lot 9 is the best..most secluded except for the trail paths.
This resort is located right alongside Interstate 555 just as you enter Jonesboro. It just changed ownership and is an RV park in it's infancy. It needs a great deal of work and is being upgraded. At this time they have 49 sites with monthly rates from less than $500 per month. Different rates for 50 and 30 amp service. As stated in the description this location is selective in what type of RV is allowed. There is a shower house nearing completion along with laundry facilities. Landscaping is needed and if you have solar panels you will have more than enough sun to keep your batteries charged. Lack of trees might be an issue for some along with the noise from the interstate. Another rv park is needed in Jonesboro and this one will fill that void.
Direction are needed to get to the campground. From Jonesboro on I 555 take exit 39 onto King Drive. Turn right onto Dalton Farmer Road. You will see a Dead End sign but continue on to the end of the road and you will see the campground. I would classify the lake mentioned as a pond. During the summer as long as the mosquitoes were not bad it would make a nice trail around it.
We tried to get into an Arkansas park but they were full so we headed into Bootheel where we’ve stayed before. We called about 2 hours out and the only sites left were 30 AMP with water. GPS takes you to the campground right off I-55, but there are directions on their website that are better as far as which exit to take. Upon arrival, there are envelopes in a brown box with the available site numbers on the envelopes. We walked around to look at each site and decided on site 12. You complete the required information on the envelope, include your payment and drop it off in the drop box. The park prefers a cash payment but you can leave credit card information on the payment envelope. They do offer a Good Sam Discount. Site 12 was an easy pull through with 30 amp and water only. Parking was easy. Once set up, we found out we were blowing the breaker with only 1 aircon running, and it killed that side of the post. We plugged into site 11 on the shared post with the same results but this time we only blew the post breaker. We got a hold of the owner and she got the maintenance guy to us really quick. Come to find out, it was our 30 AMP surge protector that was the problem. Hats off to park management for a quick response. The last row has the 50 AMP FHU sites. The first three rows in the park are 30 AMP with a mix of FHUs and water & electric. We got 2 bars on AT&T and Verizon. The last time we stayed here last January they stated they were getting new park WiFi and this time the WiFi worked much better. There’s no cable but we got quite a few OTA channels. There was plenty of area to walk our dogs along the adjacent cotton fields. They also had a very nice laundry facility that was decently priced. There is quite a bit of road noise from I-55. We dumped on the way out at their dump station that only has a dump and no water for a cleaning hose. As we are based near St. Louis, MO area and traveling to northern Mississippi once a year for RV maintenance, this no frills campground makes a perfect overnighter.
Right off the hiway The most Level site in our 6k mile trip Nice park w clean facilities Easy access to the sites Nice park! Friendly staff
Ok - so this campground is a few things. Will detail the good/bad below as we saw it:
Good
1. This campground is super remote. Like 20 minutes from downtown Memphis, but 0 bars of cell service. Really nice for an escape, but hard if trying to work out of here.
2. This campground is part of a HUUUUUUGE state park. Like 10000 acres.
3. Tons of outdoors activities in this state park.
Bad
1. No cell service. Or Internet. Or anything. There is very small service for WIFI available at the visitor center, which is a 5min drive from the park.
2. Bugs from April - October are pretty bad. This is in a forest, so they are constantly around.
3. Bath areas are old. And full of mosquitos. Would make sure you understand this before camping.
4. No Full Hookups (state park).
Really enjoy camping at lake Poinsett. The campground is mostly shady with water and electric at each site. There is no sewer hook up but a dump station is next to the visitor center. There is a nice clean bathhouse and outside the campground is an all season pavilion. In the pick nick are the children have a playground. The lake itself has been drained to make repairs to the dam and fish habitat improvements
Let me start by saying that the Rangers who run this place are top notch folks. The head Ranger stopped in a couple times every day to ask if we needed anything and to inquire about our opinion of the new site (more on this later). The facilities were well maintained, and a pleasant surprise for such a small state park.
So, we stayed on site #3. According to the head Ranger, we were the first to camp on this site since its renovation. Previously it had been a tent pad, but was now a concrete pad with a new 50A post and new water hydrant. Online, it lists the site as being 40’ long and 15’ wide. What they don’t tell you is that only the pad is this size. I had another 30’+ of gravel to park on in front of the pad. It was large enough for the biggest of fifth wheels with slides on both sides. There are now 11 total sites like this in the park thanks to recent renovations. All seemed very level. Site #3 and it’s neighbor #2 seemed perfectly level laterally, but required dropping the nose quite a bit to get level longitudinally. I still believe any length RV could pull it off easily. Each concrete site had a charcoal grill with adjustable height grates, a lantern pole, a fire pit with grill grate, and a picnic table that is bolted down (this might be my only nitpick complaint, as I like to move my picnic tables under the awning and on top of my mat... but I understand why it’s done.). The two bath houses are basically single occupancy Men and Women side facilities, but are almost brand new and heated for winter use. The Ranger said they added to accompanying porta potties for extra toilets until they can add an extra stall on each side to the buildings.
There is no playground in the campground, but a short drive into the park gets you to a very nice picnic area with a playground that looks as new as the bath houses and RV pads. Drive a bit further and you can visit the museum dedicated to the Fort after which the park is named and the men who died there. Get a map and hike the well marked trail to see a recreated portion of the fort (yes, it well marked with colored flashes and signs). Along the drive you will also find a scenic overlook of the Mississippi River and a small lake you can fish in. Canoe, Kayak, and Paddle Boat rentals are available at the museum.
For those wishing for a more rustic camping experience, the primitive sites here are among the best I have ever seen. Ever site is level, and graveled with smooth pea gravel. They all have the same fire pit, grill, and table as the RV sites. Some Require a bit of a walk from your parking spot, but you will well rewarded with some isolation. The only down side for some is that these sites have no on site water and only a few offer an electric post. There are community hydrants around the park for filling up bottle or tanks.
My personal favorite spot for primitive tent camping would have been site number 27. It is accessed via a short gravel road off the main paved road and past site 26. While it is a haul to get water, it is almost completely isolated from the rest of the campground and you can drive rite up to it with no walking. It has low ground on three sides. One side is the road leading into the park, but traffic here is light and it shouldnt be an issue.
Speaking of roads, this place is kind of out in the middle of nowhere, and the roads in can be narrow when meeting oncoming traffic. It’s not terrible but can make you a bit nervous when you meet another RV heading the other way.
All in all, I would say this park is a gem of a find since the remodeling of the RV sites and a solid 7/10 for those primitive tent campers. My only knock is the lack of a playground for those with kids. If you are empty nesters or young adults or just generally travel without kids, this is a solid 10/10 kind of place.
Camping area has concrete parking pads with electric and water hook ups. Bath house in the camping area includes showers and laundry. Very clean and well kept.
The park has: A concert walking/ running/ biking path with workout stations located along the path. Two baseball fields and a basketball ball court. A discussion golf course. Three play grounds for children.
Everything is well kept and clean.
First time at a KOA, and it was a good experience. Our stay was for 3 nights. Easy check-in and staff were very helpful. They also have a cafe that serves breakfast from Thursday - to Sunday ( due to staffing shortage). Enjoyed Beale Street and of course, toured Elvis's house and complex.
Sites were close together, our pad was part concrete and part gravel, but we were able to level our 5th wheel just fine.
This shot up to a 4 because the had great BBQ pork sandwiches.
Typical KOA, nice pool, laundry facility. The Cafe has breakfast and for dinner pulled pork sandwiches or Pizza not bad.
Workers are very nice and do a great job of keeping everything neat and clean.
Nice kids play area and pool. Dog walk area.
Nice big shade trees. Not all sites have shade but most do.
Give it a 4, we will stay here again. Next time I would like to stay lo get to take the shuttle to Graceland.
Sites are fairly level and gravel.
Customer service helped me get a great spot for my rv pulling a trailer. Lots of space and clean areas. Worth the $70 i paid.
Stayed for one night on the way through. Sites are pretty level. Water and electric fine. Bathroom clean but dated.
Crowleys Ridge State Park is a small park but has. Lot to explore and discover. Two Lakes, several trails, a "spring" and plenty of camping options.
The weekend we visited there was a convergence of Scouts, even with the large group of little people the park didn't seem crowded.
The Campground is split into different areas. The first area is primitive with a latrine. The rear area has electric hookups for campers and there is a newer, well maintained showerhouse.
Our site was huge, enough room for several tents. There was a trail directly behind our site and another trailhead at the very back of the campground area.
The trails had interesting bridges and a suspension bridge. Moderate to strenuous. There is a swimming area next to a historic CCC building and bridge. The walk around the lake takes you to a wood walkway, stairs and a spring.
The second lake is clear , with boat ramp and dock, good for the fisher folk, okay for yakers, though not very big.
They did a stellar job of putting in sites on this ridge. They're pretty level although pretty close together. Water & electric and reasoonably priced. Both ATT & Verizon worked well. The wifi info listed above must be at the office only, as there was not signal near us, we use a hot spotor our phones.
Fantastic place. Close to civilization. Great pad & hook ups. Shower & laundry is clean and nice. Beautiful lake, mtb & and walking trails better than most places. Highly recommended.
With the word RIDGE in it's name you pretty much know what to expect. These folks made it work. All sites are pretty level. if not level. Water & electric at all sites with picnic table, fire rine and stand up BBQ grill. Nice tree lined road, albeit very tight with on comming trafic, as are their interior roads. ATT & Verizon cell services were both useable just not the strongest..
Got here Sunday afternoon there wereo only3 others. With my disability pass the one night was only $12.79, tax & all.
This was a great nightover for us and would stay here again, but not as destination park.
This campground offers monthly rentals but also a place to hook up for a night or two. This is good for a one night rental when passing through. Expect noise from the interstate. This is not a typical “campground” but gets the job done for an overnight stay.
This park has tons of trees. Every site feels like it was cut right out of the trees. They are all RV sites with electric and water but I pitched a tent with no problem. I wasn’t able to stay and explore but if you’re looking for somewhere quite this is the place.
Although this is called the Memphis KOA - it is a bit of a hike. Especially when the bridge (I-40) is out.
This campground is very typical for a KOA Journey. Right off the interstate, nice pull-throughs, minimal amenities.
We stayed here for a couple of weeks while working in Memphis - good/bad comments below:
Good
1. Staff. Super nice, very helpful.
2. Ease of access to I-55.
Bad
1. Remote (not in a good way). Kind of far from West Memphis, within 10 minutes to Marion, but nothing is convenient.
2. Not in Memphis. Per the name, this is really important to note. Assume it is 30 minutes to where you are going in Memphis. 45 if the bridge is out.
3. It floods when it storms. Like 5 inches standing water. Should probably be fixed.
