    Lincoln Parish Park

    Quiet Weekend with Fun Activities

We stayed at spot 32. It was a very quiet spot that had a lot of shade but still had a view of the water. Close to the restrooms but not much through traffic. Large wide spots with paved cement made it easy to park and level. Full hook ups were nice. Trash cans were at every other campsite. There are only 33 RV spots at the park so it makes for a great getaway with not a ton of people. The site had good Verizon cell service, 2 bars with about 40-50 mbps. The walking path around the lake was really nice. The bike trails were really fun. They even kayaks for rent on the lake for a reasonable price. Overall the campground had great amenities and made for a great weekend getaway. We camped at Lincoln Parish Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Beaver Dam Campground

Home of the Sugsr Cane National Recreation Trail

Great US Forest Service campground especially if you enjoy hiking, biking or fishing. The Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail loops around the lake. The campground is a loop with approximately 30 large and level sites with electric and water hookups. Some are on the lake and some more wooded. All feel very private and spacious. There’s a dump station nearby. The sites are $25/night.

Landry Vineyards Grape Escape RV Sites

    Just perfect!

We absolutely loved our stay at Landry Vineyards. We have a 40’ fifth wheel and spent the night on site 3 with 50 amp power. The view and the peaceful setting were just magnificent! We enjoyed some pizza and cheese along with some fun music on their patio. Would definitely stay again!

    Lake Claiborne State Park Campground

    BEAUTIFUL LAKE

Very pretty camping area. We stayed here at site 14. Had a long pier over the water, and plenty of space between campers. Not level ground, but we managed with enough blocks to get it level. This was a back in site. Water and electric, no sewer, but had a dump station. Absolutely no cell service. Lake Claiborne was a gorgeous lake yo kayak on.

    Lincoln Parish Park

    Wooded camping

Campground offers modern sites with tables, fire pits, electric, and water hook ups. Facilities are nearby and always clean. The campground offers privacy and is generally well shaded by trees. There is a large playground and pavilion on the facility. The park also offers some of the best mountain biking trails in the state. There is also a lake with a swimming area and a paved walking trail around it. Since the campground is not secluded there are generally no issues with using phones or accessing shopping and restaurants.

Guide to Junction City

Camping options near Junction City, Arkansas span across northeastern Louisiana and southern Arkansas, covering a varied terrain of pine forests and lake regions. Autumn temperatures typically range from 50-75°F, making it a popular season for outdoor recreation. Several campgrounds within a 40-mile radius offer both tent camping and dedicated RV sites near Junction City, Arkansas with varied access to local waterways and recreational areas.

What to do

Vineyard tours and tastings: Landry Vineyards in West Monroe, Louisiana offers camping experiences combined with wine tours. "We took a tour of the facility, guided by the winemaker and owner. Well worth it. The wines are great, so much so that we left with 6 bottles!" notes Shaun C.

Fishing access: Lake Columbia RV Park provides shoreline fishing spots in a serene environment. "The lake is beautiful and often covered in lilies. There are plenty of lovely little locations to fish from shore and even a swimming area with tables nearby," explains Sébastien M.

Wildlife viewing: The region supports diverse wildlife populations. One camper at Crossett RV Park shared their experience: "Quiet and secluded with nice roomy sites, and plenty of wildlife such as deer, hogs, and turkey. It was beautiful surprise like a hidden gem."

What campers like

Vineyard hill views: Landry Vineyards Grape Escape RV Sites provides elevated camping spots. "The site was amazing - nestled in the back of a vineyard, on the top of a hill," reports Shaun C. Another camper adds, "We stayed at location #13 at far end of the tasting room. It was a beautiful location that allowed us to overlook the vineyard."

Lake breezes: Several waterfront campgrounds offer natural cooling effects. One camper observed, "Even in the heat of the summer, the breeze off the lake, coupled with the shade of the trees, keeps it cooler than most of the area nearby."

Convenient stopover locations: Pavilion RV Park serves travelers needing quick access to Interstate 20. "Right off I20, near a Pilot travel center. Also convenient location to the Ike Hamilton Expo Pavilion. Full hookups," notes Cheri H.

What you should know

Seasonal reservation patterns: Early booking becomes essential during moderate weather periods. Most RV sites in the Junction City area fill quickly during spring and fall when temperatures range between 55-80°F.

Bathroom facilities vary: Not all parks maintain equivalent facilities. "The on-site bathhouse was clean and well taken care of," while others like Silver Eagle RV Campground offer more basic amenities.

Weather considerations: Winter overnight temperatures can drop below freezing. One camper at Pavilion RV Park noted: "Due to below freezing weather we wanted hookups. Called and left a message. Lady who called back could not have been nicer."

Tips for camping with families

Cooking facilities: Many campgrounds provide cooking equipment. "Every picnic area and campsite has a nice Hand-Made grill to cook on. (Depending on your site, you may have to scrub it first.) See if you can find the one with the bird on it!" suggests a camper at Lake Columbia.

Swimming access: Several parks offer designated swimming areas with nearby picnic facilities. Most waterfront campgrounds maintain shallow entry points suitable for younger children during summer months.

Nature activities: Bayou Boeuf RV Park provides access to wildlife refuges. "15 mins from Black Bayou National Wildlife Refuge if you want somewhere to hike and walk around," mentions Kristi D.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling requirements: Many campgrounds require leveling equipment. At Landry Vineyards, one RVer noted: "The site was rock and not quite level since we had to use leveling blocks to avoid having the back tires of our 39 foot motorhome lifted off the ground."

Navigation challenges: Some parks have tight turns for larger rigs. "Turns to the upper level of parking sites were a bit tight, but not difficult to manage," reports an RVer towing a vehicle behind their motorhome.

Hookup arrangements: Check hookup locations before arriving. "Originally, our site said it was set up for motorized RVs with the hookups set to drive into the site. However, when we arrived (with our 30 foot TT) we found hookups on BOTH sides of the site, making it that much easier for us to hook up," explains one RVer about their experience at Landry Vineyards.
