Good launch point for boats or kayaks

Not really a campsite, more of a launch point for watercraft. You can camp overnight, but it’s a small area and pretty moderately trafficked. Parking here requires a tonto pass which you can buy at most of the local stores, I got mine at ACE hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

What amenities are available at Apache Lake Campground?

Apache Lake Campground offers minimal amenities as it functions primarily as a watercraft launch point rather than a fully-developed campground. The area provides basic overnight camping opportunities but in a small, moderately trafficked space. There are no reported shower facilities, hookups, or extensive camping infrastructure. The area is suitable for those who prioritize lake access over campground amenities.

How do I make reservations for Apache Lake Campground?

Apache Lake Campground doesn't appear to operate on a reservation system. Instead, camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To stay overnight, you'll need to purchase a Tonto Pass, which serves as your parking and use permit. These passes can be purchased at local businesses in the area, including ACE Hardware. Since the camping area is small and moderately trafficked, arriving early is recommended, especially during peak seasons.

Where can I find a map of Apache Lake Campground?

For a map of Apache Lake Campground, check with the Tonto National Forest's official website or visitor center. Since Three Mile Wash is primarily a launch point for watercraft rather than a traditional campground, detailed maps may be limited. The Forest Service offices can provide navigation assistance, or you might find basic maps at local stores where Tonto Passes are sold, such as the ACE Hardware mentioned by visitors to the area.
