Very nice state park

Very clean, well kept park. Good space between sites. The only downside I could find was I10 is close enough to be heard. 5 minutes away from battleship park. Plan for a whole day there if you really want to see everything they have to offer. Only an hours drive to the Naval Air Station at Pensacola. Highly recommend the museum there as well as Blue Angels practice viewing.

This site is ok with a mix of nice and ok sites. The sites are a bit crowded but the overall location is nice. Would come back but would also be open to explore other sites in the area

Really nice!

Awesome state park! Plenty of room between spaces which are staggered so you aren’t looking out your door at another trailer. We lucked out and got a waterfront site. Had a great seafood dinner at Felix’s just down the road. Would love to come back for more than just a couple of nights.

Very nice state park on Mobile Bay

Meaher is a great state park near Mobile. We stayed one night. Many of the sites are shady. The park streets and sites are asphalt. The park was clean and quiet except for road noise which wasnt bad. Restroom was clean.

Stayed in back-in campsite#33 which was waterfront, shady and pretty level. It was an asphalt site with grass on either side. There was long enough parking for my 34 ft TT and truck. Neighbors are not too close. The site included: picnic table on asphalt and BBQ pit. Utilities: 20/30/50A electric in middle. Water in middle, good pressure. Sewer in middle with screw-on fitting.

AT&T had 3 bars of 5G and Verizon 2 bars of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 8 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up. Verizon Speedtest: 2.5 Mbps down, 6.4 Mbps up. Did not use the available free Wi-Fi. Would stay here again. We camped at Meaher State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cleanest campsite I’ve ever been too! Bathrooms are large and clean. Love the gated entry. Staff was prompt in finding us when we arrive after hours. Electric/water at site

Wonderful Small Campground

We’ve stayed here several times. Nice flat sites in the pines and next to the Bay. Bathhouses are nice. Only problem is they are push button showers so it takes a couple pushes to get it hot. Shelter houses, boat ramp, tent sites, and a few cabins. Only 5 miles west to the USS Alabama Memorial Park. Well worth a visit!!

Nice campground on the water

Meaher is a very nice state park campground. Several sites back up to the water, and all sites are full hookup! They have several big rig sites and the sites are a nice size, but the park itself is small. There arent shrubs for privacy, but way better so it doesnt take from the view from those of us that are not on the water... We have an interior site, but can still see the water and beautiful sunset. They have a few trails here, and you can also go boating, kayaking, canoeing, bike riding, and birdwatching. The only bummers are low water pressure (20 psi, so we filled our tank and used the pump) and their laundryroom. For a few months they have had a note on the laundryroom door that they are in the process of purchasing new machines, but still waiting. The few machines that work, dont work well. The park is close to Mobile, Bellingrath Gardens, Dauphin Island, Fairhope and Orange beach is less than an hour away.

Nice, but terrible customer service.

The campground is clean and nice. They have a 2 week stay maximum,  but I've read reviews from snowbirds that stay there every year, so that seems contradictory to me. There are camping trailers and RVs in storage there.

My complaint is that the front office closes at 3:00 although the sign on the office door says 5:00. No one ever answers the phone; it goes straight to voice-mail, and nobody calls back. We got locked out once b/c the gate code changed mid-stay and nobody told us. We tried calling and got nowhere, so we had to make overnight accommodations elsewhere. Also, Meaher State Park is not on the online reservation site. I don't know they get any business  b/c you can't get in touch with anyone.

Beautiful Views of the Bay

Reserved a nice spot next to the Bay. Well kept campground. We arrived at 10 pm; site closed at 7, but we thought we would have access since we had a reservation. Upon arrival, the gate was closed but there was a entry code system to input a special code to automatically open the gate. However, we didn’t receive a code to get into the gate. We drive around looking forward another entrance and came back around to the main entrance. Tried to put in our confirmation number as the code, but that didn’t work. Called main number as well as camp host number but didn’t have success. Luckily we were able to piggy back onto another guest’s arrival! Site had full hook ups and level concrete pad. (Didn’t use the bath house.) Nice neighbors! We had a full moon…so great light for evening yoga before bed! Best advice: don’t make same day reservations OR arrive before closing! Otherwise was a great campsite!

Great little campground

Great little campground in an awesome location. Facilities were all top notch. Beach was closed due to "dangerous wildlife" (assuming alligators). Fun little pier to walk out on with lots of vegetation and small animals, birds, and fish to see. Definitely would stay here again. The only negative I have is it's a really tight and narrow turn to get into the campground, with the road you're turning off of (or on to) the speed limit is 55mph with most people traveling well above that. This makes turning into and out of the campground really interesting (and frankly dangerous) especially in an RV.

One of our favorite campgrounds .

We have stayed here 4 times over the last 2 years. We keep coming back. It’s a good location for events in Mobile and Baldwin counties. Site are level and paved. All have FHU I believe. They have a nice little fishing pier. Boat and kayak launch. Bath houses clean and operated correctly. Hot water etc. You can hear traffic in Hwy 98 and I10 at night but was not an issue for us. Other have complained I have noticed. Tv antenna reception good from Mobile and Pensacola. About and hour drive to great beaches also.

Fantastic Park

The wife and I stayed 4 nights here and it is now my all time favorite Alabama state park. If you’re a glamper and need WiFi and cable tv, then maybe this place isn’t for you. But if you want beautiful scenery, well manicured grounds, plenty of space, and peace and quiet....then come on down. It’s full hookup. It was quiet. Yes, you can hear traffic from I-10 a little, but it didn’t keep us awake or make us turn the tv volume up. The staff was friendly and checked on us to make sure we were having a good time and had no problems. They also came by and put poison out for the argentine ants you read about. We used some of our own also. The ONLY complaint I have is the sewer connection is high off the ground and our connection sagged down. This can be easily fixed with a larger diameter pvc pipe around the stinky slinky to keep it straight.

We loved it and will be back. The views were breathtaking. The alligators stayed far enough away and didn’t bother us. It’s close to supply stores and restaurants if you need them. This was money well spent.

Odd location but pretty park

We enjoyed several amazing sunsets from this State Park. The people working here are super friendly and we had a good time here. There are a few trails you can walk on and some places that people were out fishing. It’s in a bit of an odd location– just off the busy main road all by itself, but it isn’t far if you need to get back to town. The facilities were nice and we had a great time here!

.

I can only give this place 3 stars for a few reasons. One, it was $37!!! for a primitive site that wasn't any more special than any other primitive site I've stayed in. Though having water on site was nice. Second, it was basically next to a giant parking lot, so not super scenic. Now the good stuff. Really clean, quiet, and very friendly staff. And BEAUTIFUL sun rises! I'd stay here again, but would have to look really hard for a less expensive more private spot next time.

There are boardwalks to explore, photographs to be taken, alligators to be seen, fishing to be done, relaxing and having a good time to be had. We love this place!

Fits all your basic needs and beautiful views

This campground has large sites with both 30 and 50 amp hook ups. The sites are level concrete pads but they have this crazy ant that you have to prepare for. Bring borax or baking soda to protect your rigs from these ants.

It’s nestled next to Battleship Parkway and makes for an easy jaunt into Mobile to get dinner or check out some of the local brews/night spots. Or you can travel down the bay to check out some of the little towns along the way.

Pets are allowed but caution for the ant bait/killer stuff  on the trees/etc.

Nice location

This is a scenic campsite along the river. The tent sites are in a general area, not specific sites. It worked out well for me since I was the only renter but I imagine it could get very crowded. The facilities are clean and the staff were so nice. My one complaint is that they don’t provide fire pits for campers.

Very close sites, on/near the Bay.

I have done tent camping at this park a couple times. All of the sites are close together and the ants are ridiculous. I had read reviews about the ants prior so I came prepared. Each site has a picnic table & fire ring. There is a boat launch, which is popular, a pier and also 2 cabins that you can rent. This is a popular park for RV's. And of course there is a shower house & covered picnic tables.

I chose a specific site with water view which was enjoyable. The street lights throughout the park are very bright, so if you're light sensitive when you sleep, use a darker tent. All the sites have power & water hookups.

Mobile Delta camping

This park is in the middle of the delta, giving easy access to the water and lovely views. Trails are short but the boardwalk connecting the two parts of the park is incredible. Plan to spend your time on the water.

About a quarter of the sites are right next to the water. There are have a few furnished cabins on the water as well. The sites are shady and sparsely wooded.

Yay: Great simple little sites, clean, good wildlife, nice little park, fishing from the pier if you don’t have a boat.

Nay: The park is between two highways, but we didn’t notice the noise.

Surprise: The people camping next to us caught so many fish they invited us to their BBQ and on a sunset cruise.
