One night to start our trip

Staff was lovely and accommodating. They upgraded us to FHU at no addl charge since the site we had booked was closed for the season. Yeah there is some highway noise, which i suspect would be more problematic in a tent. We're going to stay here on our way back as well, and drive the Pilot Butte Scenic loop to look for wild horses!

      New Exprience

The campground is fine. However, we had a pull through and the area we were in they put one camper faced one way and another faced the other way to maximize hook ups in between two units. Results in your campside facing a neighbor campside. Might feel awkward if you are trying to enjoy the outside. The bathrooms looked clean and everything else seems fine. An area plus is an local drive to see wild horses. we did and and saw some.

      On the beach!

Dispersed beach camping, vault toilets, dumpsters, great views and direct access for swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding. Boats can be put in at marina and beached here. No trees or shade but a light constant breeze in jun when we visited

      Good place for a overnight

This KOA definitely goes by all the rules , no online chekins after 4 and if you didn’t pay before you got there you paid more. Lots of RV’s looks like long term, camp on gravel no pads , no no food, bery small store.. facilities were clean, not to warm for me, Staff certainly did not want to spend much time answering questions .. but worked in a pinch

      Beautiful but High Risk entry

Pulling into my chosen spot and doing a 180 at the beauty and serenity of this area( stayed at 40°59'20.4"N 109°32'13.7"W, not all the way out), made me feel a little bit better regarding the trip in. Jug Hollow Road should be renamed: Rough Hollow Road! Had I known how bad it would get, I would not have made the journey with my 40' Toy Hauler. Many have mentioned the 5+ miles of Washboard road, but there is a long section that has been washed out, rutted and very hazardous! Far worse than any road I've been on. And as some folks do, there is no exaggeration involved here to keep the area from becoming"too popular". Making things worse is that most of the road in is very narrow. Thank goodness I did not meet an outgoing camper! Not sure what would happen if I had? And there is no going off the side of the road, as the road is dug in pretty deep from years of grading(which BTW, is in dire need of a re-do! Again, a beautiful area with lots of water, fishing, kayaking, ATV's and Dirt Bikes. But you have to ask yourself whether potential damage to your rig and it's contents are worth risking. And let us not forget.. if you come down Route 191 from I-80.. be prepared for a"White-Knuckle" experience!!! Especially that 2-1/2 mile, 9% grade to go down.

OK , but only if you’re just passing through

Huge open spaces, more like a dirt parking lot. The staff was friendly, but for the price I paid, I expected a little more. lots of car alarms going off, lots of dogs barking, but it’s been nice to have a little greenery or some trees.

      Great Place, Friendly Staff

Our reservation got changed at the last minute from Buckboard WY to Lucerne and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. The staff was super accommodating and friendly, and our campsite was absolutely gorgeous and one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Definitely recommend.

      Quick stop

Just traveling though. Here for the night. Super easy check in. Friendly staff. Was pretty empty. Little highway noise but not too bad. Slept just fine in the roof top tent. Not a ton of bugs. Few skeeters and moths but not as bad as the last place we stayed in

      Expensive for what we got

This is a KOA Journey but for the price their charge I was expecting to get more. Other reviews mentioned a pool, which would have been nice since we went through there during a heat wave but the pool was closed. This looked more like a RV Park(i.e.: parking lot) than a campground. I would not go back.

      Dispersed on a remote cove

I took road 150 out away from the campground and found a quiet remote cove down one on the side roads. 4WD was necessary. Great views and access to the water as the lake was at low water level. Only challenge was the bugs right at sunset.

      Helpful on short notice

We usually reserve sites at least a month out. This one was 3 days out (planned one cancelled on us due to COVID outbreak). Grounds are gravel and muddy (must have rained hard recently). We were looking forward to using the pool, however their heater is on the fritz. Few trees. Staff are nice. It’s a ok place to stop for the night. Can’t miss it. It’s right off I-80 next to the giant white tank farm.

      Great dispersed

Great dispersed camping. Can get very windy. Great kayaking and paddle boarding. Can camp within 40 yards of the water. Close to Manilla for gas and supplies. The town of green river is approximately 1 hour away.

      Private cove for big groups

This site is reservation only for a single group site. The narrow two track gravel road into the cove was longer and narrower than expected but seems large TTs make it fine, just make sure there is no opposing members coming in against the traffic. Vault toilet, beach, drinking water, trash dumpster. Lots of room for multiple later TYs and RVs. Not sure on cell signal as loose growling dogs sent me packing..haha.

      Large developed CG

Largest developed CG on westside of flaming gorge. Several loops for TTs/TVs and tent campers. Electric hookups sites also. Water, trash, restrooms, showers. Lots of staff maintenance activity around. Not my style of camping but families will like it and RVs that need electric will like it. $31 electric sites, $22 no electric sites. Water, trash restrooms, showers.

      Great scenery

Nice campground with great scenery. I would highly recommend renting one of the deluxe sites that come with a cement patio, table with an umbrella, and a privacy wall. We’ll worth the extra $10. The only negative was the pool was not very clean, could not even see our feet in 3’ water. Could just have been a simple chemical imbalance

      Good for a stop over

Good place for a stopover. Mostly level. The patio sites were much better than the plain sites. Wish we had gotten one of those. Loved the pool! There was a jump pad, and a K9 area.

Okay trail around the side and the back of the campground. My son had fun climbing things. There were old buildings to look at (go in?)

Easy place to crash between Denver and Jackson Hole WY

We just needed a quick place to crash on the way from Denver to Jackson Hole Wy area.  We didn't want to make the full drive at once since we needed to set up a campsite when we got there, so we stopped here.

It had snowed the night before and it was cold.  However, the fences protect the campsites for the tent campers, so we didn't feel the wind at all.  We were so well protected.  We were even able to pull our car in front of the site, and this blocked our site from view of others.

The facilities were nice:  bathrooms were spotless and there were laundry facilities and many other things.

There was even a cute dog park that we could exercise our husky in. He was happy :).  Plus, the fencing around the campsite allowed us to set up a nice dog run for him.

The people were very nice when checking in, and it was very organized.

      We would stay there again!

      What a beautiful place

This campground has large RV spots and there are 140 of them. Antelope wander around the park all day and the water is crystal clear. We didn’t have a reservation and they have many first come first serve sites- we even got one with an amazing lake view. This is one of those places I will never forget because it’s so pretty. Also, the bathrooms (flush toilets only) are super clean. Sites have electricity and water is available.

It might be right off the freeway in the middle of Wyoming sparseness but it was a pleasure to stay here for the night. Clean facilities and bathroom, laundry room, exercise room.
