We enjoyed renting a cabin with the family at several different times.  

The mountain bike trails are so rugged and fun, difficult for biking.  You can hike them too, and they offer nice views of the lake.

The area seems to have a skunk issue at times, and it can get smelly near the cabins.

The cabins have nice fire pits and kitchens have enough space and facilities to make a nice family dinner.

The lake is large enough to boat on and you can do paddling sports there easily. 

The park has tennis courts and lots of other recreation: boating, hiking, swimming, biking.

The campsite is next to the 12 mile set of mountain bike trails.  It is a great mountain biking/camping getaway.  The trails are easy, so for all levels.  Nice camping for families.  There is also a very nice children's playground near the campsite.  

Close to the town of Yellow Springs, Ohio.

The sites are close together and not much privacy, but convenient.

Facilities are fine and there are nice outdoor fireplaces.

The mountain bike trails are all-purpose so you can enjoy hiking them also.  They are very well-maintained.

We loved our waterfront campsite.  We had a section of the river to ourselves and it was a large private spot.  

The site was rocky, so mats would be hard (but we had an air mattress, so we were fine).  

The water is spring-fed and very clear and beautiful.

Be sure to visit the nearby springs and sites of the recreational area.  The springs are so deep blue and dramatic against the rocky cliffs.

Hearing the sounds of the river and the chirping birds at night was amazing.

It was a bit buggy but we were prepared.

This campground is nice.  They are all designated campsites but they are first-come-first serve. They are hike-to only.  

It is great for hiking and backpacking camping but if you are looking for car style camping, this is not it.

The trail is challenging terrain, especially when backpacking.  It can be very wet and muddy in the spring (or after any rains), so be prepared for that.  

The road to it is difficult also (as are most with dispersed camping).

There are no amenities except for an outhouse in the parking lot.

This is pack in/pack out.

When we stayed here it was like 100 degrees.  Our camp host was so sweet and gave us a box fan to use (there is electrical) so that we could have some relief from the heat.  

Our camp site was nice and private yet close to a bathroom.  The bathroom, even though vaulted, was kept very clean.  

The lakes are pretty and we were able to explore with our paddle boards, but I wouldn't necessarily swim there.  

We liked this pretty campsite.  

We had cellular reception so we were able to work and stream music.  :)

There were these cute little lizards that roamed our campground.  Didn't expect to see those.  They are harmless, and probably eat the mosquitos, so we liked them.

We followed directions to this campground but had a hard time actually finding it.  We ended up staying in a dispersed site near a fire road just before the site b/c it was so pretty there.  

The road is curvy and takes you up high onto the ridge.  

The creek is beautiful and there are many trails back there to hike.

We enjoyed the views from the ridge of the valley. Pure beauty!

We just needed a quick place to crash on the way from Denver to Jackson Hole Wy area.  We didn't want to make the full drive at once since we needed to set up a campsite when we got there, so we stopped here.

It had snowed the night before and it was cold.  However, the fences protect the campsites for the tent campers, so we didn't feel the wind at all.  We were so well protected.  We were even able to pull our car in front of the site, and this blocked our site from view of others.  

The facilities were nice:  bathrooms were spotless and there were laundry facilities and many other things.  

There was even a cute dog park that we could exercise our husky in. He was happy :).  Plus, the fencing around the campsite allowed us to set up a nice dog run for him.

The people were very nice when checking in, and it was very organized.  

We would stay there again!

This campground is so gorgeous.  The road eventually leads to a pretty lake and waterfront sites.  It is very high in elevation!  

You will need a 4WD vehicle and your vehicle cannot be over 35 feet long.  

This is on Lincoln Creek Rd and near the Lincoln Creek Campground.  Both are dispersed and have difficult roads. Both are beautiful.

This is a hidden gem.  You could paddle on the water, or hike, or fish.  It is great for family also.  Tucked away, beautiful. Worth the tough road! :)

I would give this 5 stars, but it is very hard to access and the road it very scary in places.  However, it is so gorgeous!! 

The road follows Lincoln Creek and the creek is indeed so beautiful.  There are many Aspen Trees in the area, so the colors are brilliant in the fall.

At the end of the road is a surprise:  there is a lake and campground with waterfront sites that you can get to and it is so pretty. 

The sites are big, but you must have a 4WD vehicle to access most.

There are bear-proof boxes, but no other amenities.

You are close to Aspen at this campground but it isn't easy to get in and out of.

This is the smartest place to stay in Summit County.  You are a few minutes' drive (could walk) into the town of Frisco, in case you want to enjoy the town.  There is a strong signal for mobile phones and I was able to work the entire time we were there.

The campground is spectacular in that it is right on lake Dillon, while you can see mountains everywhere.  360 mountain views with a lake view, combined with location, make this one of my favorites ever.  

The bathrooms are flushing toilets and very clean.  There are a lot of them, too, so you feel like you aren't sharing with too many people.  

The sites are private b/c they are surrounded by little conifers.  

We loved it here!

We stayed in a lovely dispersed camping site on Mosquito Creek road in Wilson, Wyoming.  Some of the campsites have views of the creek and are very private.  All sites are very private.  

The road to get there, as is usual with dispersed camping, is very bumpy and 4WD is recommended.  

Our friend saw a large black bear after leaving our site.  It is also moose territory.

Gorgeous, private, but with no bathrooms or amenities at all.

Even though there is no water, bathrooms, or other amenities, it is free.  And it is a few short minutes to the town of Jackson Hole.

Bonus:  we have cellular reception enough that I could make calls and send emails (Not strong enough to send pics and stream though).

We loved staying here b/c you are near all these cute towns, yet in a remote wilderness spot (Platte River Campground).

We were able to take a trail from the campground and go on the trail for the dunes.  Challenging walk!

We took a river trip with our own boats, and enjoyed the spectacular surroundings.  The water is crystal clear and you end at the lake.  Epic ending and very picturesque.

Crystal clear, beautiful water.  Nice!  The campground itself had some wonderful trails and was great.

Well this is so beautiful and exotic.  It is on Lake Superior but it is up high, so there are beautiful views.  

In the evenings, we followed the trails to the Harbor and caught a gorgeous sunset.  

The campground has adequate bathrooms.  

The sites have sone privacy but not a ton.

Gorgeous place to stay that is near all the waterfalls in the recreation area.

This is very close to the Munising/Pictured Rocks/ Christmas Michigan areas.

The campground is adequate, but not the most awesome bathrooms.  

There was a great trail near our campsite that had signs and info about the birds in the area (great for young ones especially).  

Adequate place for pitching a tent and going to the bathroom (and having some lake fun) and being near Munising.

Lily Lake Campground is pretty sweet, in that it is very private and remote. 

The cattle from nearby farms would come by and visit in the mornings and drink from the lake. 

Our campsite was on the cliff overlooking the lake, just past the boat ramp.  

Great place to stay that is close to Yellowstone, if you have a 4WD vehicle to get to the campsite.  Follow signs to Lily Lake, b/c there are several lakes on the turnoff.

This place really is "Of the Gods".  The Geological formations are very majestic.  It is so different from the rest of the state of IL.  AMAZING place to visit.  

Please be careful if you bring children or those that like to wander.  It is can be dangerous if one goes without caution.  I'm pretty sure this is the kind of place where the phrase "slipped through the cracks" was coined.  There are many cracks and various rocks that someone can slip on or through or fall off of, so be careful.  

Some of the most incredible scenery ever and the trails allow access to everything.  I am ready to go back, it is so beautiful.

This campground is wonderful b/c of the access to fishing and the Gros Ventre river.  You can hear the river at night while sleeping, and you only have to walk a short distance to access the river.  

Other great qualities include its short driving distance to town, as well as being within and close to other fantastic national parks.  The wildlife is wonderful too-we often had moose walking right through the campground. 

The campground also has clean bathrooms and helpful employees.

Expect the campground to be busy b/c of its location-access to Yellowstone, Jackson, fishing, etc.  There was a long line of RV's and vehicles every day, as early as 5 or 6am, to check in.

Also, the campsites are not private, and are very close together.  

We loved it though, and our Siberian Husky Finn loved being there.
