Best RV Parks & Resorts near Wauconda, WA

Several RV parks near Wauconda provide full hookup options for travelers exploring northeastern Washington. Gold Mountain RV Park in Republic offers year-round access with full hookups including 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. The park accommodates big rigs with pull-through sites and includes amenities such as drinking water, trash disposal, and shower facilities. "The sites were quite large and not very shaded," noted one visitor about camping in the region. Winchester RV Resort & Campground, located 8 miles west on Curlew Lake Road, features similar full hookup capabilities with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical options. Hillside RV Park and Activity Center maintains 30 designated RV sites with more basic amenities including drinking water and trash service.

Seasonal considerations affect RV camping availability throughout the Okanogan Highlands. Many parks in the area remain open year-round, though winter access may require preparation for snow conditions on mountain roads. Cell service varies significantly across the region, with several reviewers noting limited or no connectivity in more remote locations. Dump stations are available at select facilities including Carl Precht RV Park in Omak, approximately 45 miles southwest of Wauconda. Pet policies generally permit dogs with standard leash requirements. During summer months, temperatures can reach 100°F, making shade trees and electrical hookups for air conditioning particularly valuable. Advance reservations are recommended for weekend stays between May and September when fishing and water recreation draw larger crowds to area lakes.

Kettle Falls Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Busy Campground next to Full Service Marina

The Kettle Falls Campground sits on the Upper Columbia River in a popular recreational area.

The campsites are not very private but a few offer stunning views of the river. The campground is busy on the weekends. If you’re looking for peace and quiet try camping during the week.

There are no services except for a few vault toilets and a dump station. However, there’s a full service marina next door. The marina is a popular fishing and water sport destination in the summer.

The campground is clean and well maintained. The sites are small so parking a big rig will be a hassle.

Overall, the Kettle Falls Campground is a great place to access the Upper Columbia River. However, there is little privacy and it gets busy on the weekends.

    Swan Lake Campground

    Beautiful & quiet.

Great campground with easy access to the woods and a beautiful lake with views and fishing. Paved road, clean drinking water, vaulted toilets, locking dumpsters for trash, no motorized boats allowed. Great for families that enjoy camping, great lake for fishing and kayaking, great spot for birding. There are pull through spots for trailers in the upper part of the campground and back in spots with lake views and access. Walk in and group sites are much more private.

Kettle River Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Super small. Doesn't get much use

Seems much like a lot of the campgrounds in the Colville National Forest. Really quiet, there was nobody there but us! Vault toilets, picnic tables and fire rings at every site! The wildlife viewing is always nice. Bring binoculars! $9 in the off season and $18 in the regular season. So worth it depending on how many people are there in the summer.

    Osoyoos Lake Veterans Memorial Park

    Really nice, spacious park

We only stayed here one night, but we enjoyed our stay. We had 50 amp electric service and fresh water. There is a communal dump station. Lots of grass to walk the dogs.

North Gorge Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Ranger Review: GCI Outdoor Recliner chair at North Gorge Campground

Ranger Review: GCI Outdoor Recliner chair at North Gorge Campground

    Campground review:

North Gorge is a sleepy little place. Small campground with a small boat launch. There isn't a lot of parking so beware if you bring your truck and trailer here. The sites are small, seemed to be a decent amount of space between them. Vault toilets, well maintained. each site has your standard picnic table, and fire ring. There was a burn ban in August, no fires for us. They actually zip tied no fire signs to each fire pit. There are only a few sites, most for tent camping only, however there are a few that will fit a trailer or rv. It is $9 in the off season Nov 1st to May 30th, and $18 in the peak season

As a Ranger for the Dyrt, sometime I get to test out awesome products in exchange for an honest review. The GCI outdoor Recliner is well built with quality materials. It is easy to slide in and out of the large storage back. easy to set up and take down. I love the mesh back, it helps to keep you cool in those hot summer days. The chair has 3 reclining positions and my favorite part was reclining the chair all the way to look at the stars, it gives the perfect angle. I also love the storage pocket on the back. just fold up the storage bag and put it in the pocket for a pillow. It has a cup holder, but I wasn't a big fan of the placement. I give this chair an 8/10.

    Pierre Lake Campground

    The lake was very nice.

This lake is way up in the Colville National forest! The campsites were closed for the season, but it's about $6 for a overnight stay. The lake was pretty clear, and had nice reeds and a sandy beach. The campsites all he tables and fire rings. There is only 1 vault toilet.

    Tiffany's Resort

    Great Family Resort

Great place for families and fishermen. Curlew Lake is known for its fishing, also boating, waterskiing, kayaking, etc. Resort has a variety of full service cabins and full RV hook up camp sites. Also tent sites available. Showers and laundry on site, along with convenient store, where bikes, boats, kayaks and paddle boards can be rented. Marked swim area for kids.

    Open almost all year round.

Kettle River Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

    Dispersed Sites

We stayed here with our 21’ travel trailer. There are no hookups so we brought a our generator and made sure we had a full tank of water. The sites were far enough apart to provide some sense of separation, which we liked. The paved parking was quite small for the “max vehicle length” rating. This left us using every in of pavement we had. Access to the water is limited to the boat launch and there isn’t much of a water play area. The little store at the boat launch was nice, and the person working there was friendly. We also, utilized the free event dump on our way out, which was convenient located.

Kettle River Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

    Nice dry camping

This was a clean and well maintained campground. Only 12 sites most of which are right off the bank of the Kettle River. There was some space between most of the sites. We squeezed our 30 foot trailer and truck into pull through site 11. The was a clean and stocked vault tiolet on site. I had 2-3 bars on my Verizon phone. Slow but good enough to check email and search local info. The river was down and we were told it is drawn down in Febraury but back up to high levels first week of July. Beautiful area.

What to do

Fishing at Curlew Lake: Located just 8 miles west of Republic, North Lake RV Park provides access to excellent fishing opportunities. "We stayed here a week in late July. Weather was great for hanging out in the lake all day swimming and kayaking," notes Mike K. about North Lake RV Park & Campground.

What campers like

Shade trees: In an area that experiences summer heat, large shade trees provide relief. "A comfortable park on the banks of the Okanagan River at the stampede grounds. Well maintained with large shade trees," notes Les G. about Carl Precht RV Park Eastside Park.

Spacious sites: RV camping near Wauconda offers adequate spacing between sites at many locations. "We got 2 sites side by side for our camping partners. Nice grassy area for group activities," explains Mike K. from North Lake RV Park & Campground.

Clean facilities: Many campgrounds maintain well-kept restrooms and shower areas. "This place has showers and bathrooms which were great after a day floating on the river which is just a short drive away," reports Jayme B. who stayed at North Lake RV Park & Campground.

What you should know

Seasonal insect activity: Summer months bring increased insect activity to the area. "Be aware of bees during the day and mosquitoes at night," warns Mike K. about camping at North Lake RV Park.

Look for campgrounds with activities: Select locations that offer recreation options for children. "This place is great. Super rustic, tons of things for kids to get into," recommends Craig S. about their family stay at North Lake RV Park.

Consider group camping options: For larger family gatherings, seek out parks with group facilities. "Great tent camping with group camping available. Sites have a lot of room, table, fire pit, garbage can and easy walk to rest of campground," explains Jayme B. from North Lake RV Park.

Dog-friendly locations: Many families travel with pets. "And, a great dog park for your pups..." mentions Les G. about East Omak RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Rig size considerations: Check site specifications before booking. "They were so friendly. Nice spots, wide, easy to back in (30ft)," shares Thomas about Columbia Point Resort.

Paved sites availability: For easier setup, look for paved options. "Found this on the way up to North Cascades on an unusually hot day. It hit the spot, easy, paved pull-thru sites with plenty of shade and hookups for electric and water," describes Janine B. about East Omak RV Park.

Fresh provisions: Some RV sites near Wauconda offer unexpected amenities. "Free fresh eggs from their chicken, fresh onions from the garden and more. Never felt so welcomed like here," shares Thomas about their stay at Columbia Point Resort.
