Best RV Parks & Resorts near Mead, WA

Several RV parks surround Mead, Washington, providing convenient access to both urban amenities and natural attractions. Northern Quest RV Resort offers big-rig friendly sites with full hookups including 50-amp electrical service, while Liberty Lake RV Campground features concrete pads with water, sewer, and electrical connections. Deer Park RV Resort, located north of Mead, provides a more upscale experience with full hookup sites situated on a golf course. Alderwood RV Park in nearby Spokane accommodates larger motorhomes with pull-through sites and 50-amp service. North Spokane RV Campground operates year-round with full hookup sites, though fires are not permitted. "The sites are concrete pads with a picnic table also on concrete. While sites are close, they are spaced well enough that you don't have to worry with hitting your neighbor with your awning or having to play Tetris with your slides," noted one RV traveler about Liberty Lake RV Campground.

Seasonal considerations affect RV camping options throughout the region. Blackwell Island RV Park in nearby Coeur d'Alene, Idaho operates from April through mid-October, making it unavailable during winter months. Most parks in the immediate Mead area remain open year-round, though winter camping requires preparation for cold weather. Cell service is generally strong at RV parks near Mead, with multiple reviewers noting good connectivity for both Verizon and AT&T networks. Pet policies vary between facilities, with most allowing pets but imposing leash requirements and designated pet areas. Dump stations are available at most parks, though some like Bergsparken RV Park have limited amenities despite offering full hookups. Proximity to Interstate 90 provides easy access for motorhomes and travel trailers, though some parks like Liberty Lake RV Campground experience noticeable highway noise due to their location.

    Liberty Lake RV Campground

Looks like a parking lot with RVs

This is a newer RV park in Liberty Lake. They have only been open 2 years. Liberty Lake is between Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID. There are about 130 spaces or so, with concrete pads and paved streets. There is grass between sites, but they are much too close to be comfortable, and there is no shade! And, the rules!!! Lots more rules than most other camping areas.’ It also appears many of the residents are semi-permanent. They have free cable snd wifi, a dog park, playground, swimming pool, laundry, and dump station. The sites are 30/50 amp, most are pull through but the outer ring is back in. They also have propane. They are on the pricy side: an outside loop 50 ft. Site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount. It is easy access to I-90 both East and west.

    Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park

It's one of the nicest fairground rv parks.

It's one of the nicest fairground rv park I have been to. This place was very well kept and very friendly campground host. This place is big rig friendly. I stayed in a 45 class A motorhome with a tow vehicle. I had no problem with the access to the rv park. If you are coming off of interstate 90, don't use exit 13. The round about is way to small to handle big rig or any camper. The best route is exit 12 big rig friendly. The price is very reasonable for this area. No shade.

    Blackwell Island RV Park

    Waterfront RV campground

    9/14 to 9/17/19

    Blackwell Island RV Resort

    Coeur d'alene Idaho

Close to interstate, located next to Spokane River and lake. Boat and kayak rentals. Sites are gravel, level, both pull throughs and back ins available, FHU, no privacy between sites. Some nice water front sites. Chairs in place to enjoy the small beach. Nice volleyball and play area. Small BMX course was fun. Cute landscaping near water, small trees within the campground. Picnic tables, no wood fires allowed. No tents of any kind. Very limited store at the office. Town very close with stores and restaurants. Nice restaurant a short distance at the Marina called Cedars. Great private bathroom/with shower. Nice laundry facilities. Free cable and spotty wifi. Moose too!

    Liberty Lake Regional Park

    Quiet park close to Spokane

We spent 3 weeks at Liberty Lake Regional Park while visiting our son and grandkids in Spokane. The road in is a little narrow, but once in, it’s a great little campground. Most of the sites are fairly level. We stayed at 2 different sites over 3 weeks, and both were level. They are close together! They provide a fire pit if you want one. Picnic table, water and electric. The dump station is quite a drive, back out, up the hill. There is a clean shower/bathroom building and a beach within walking distance of the campground. While we were there the campground hosts did a fantastic job of keeping everything clean and tidy. Several hiking trails, including an equestrian trail, waterfall, fishing and lots of wildlife. There were deer in the campground every day, we saw moose, owls, pilated woodpecker, and hawks. We were there over July 4th weekend and they had a fireworks display on the beach.

    Thousand Trails Little Diamond

    Little Diamond Newport Washington

We spent a week here and loved it. It is so quiet and peaceful. The sites share electric and water, no sewer and are positioned oddly they are on the off side and in front by the road. Some 30and 50 amp just check the box. The sites are gravel, some what level and size/length varies, a few pull throughs, our 37ft 5ver had no problem. Bathroom showers are ok. Laundry is good. There is a small lake free fishing, didn’t fish. We stayed in the Thousand Trails side, it is a split park with KOA on the other side. Two dump stations, nice lodge/ spa and pool open. AT&T and Sprint were very good. At our site 144

    Spokane County Fairgrounds

    Enjoyable Stay

We followed the map from the post confirmation email we received from the Fairgrounds that included the gate code as well. We realized we hadn't recieved the email with the gate code, so about an hour out, we emailed to ask about the gate code. We got an immediate reply, which was nice. Once we got in the campground (CG) area, we had the choice of the closely spaced pull throughs A-1 through A-8 or the B back-in area that consists of 35 sites spread out over several rows. We decided on site B-29 with water and electric(50/30/20) that had one of the two nice-sized picnic tables in the CG plus two trees for some shade. Since the back-in sites are in a large grass/dirt field, you can pull around and make them pull throughs. You have to figure out how you are going to angle in the sites and hook up to the water and electric, as the utilties for each site aren't exactly intuitive. The power worked well and we got about 50 psi on the water. We got 4 bars on Verizon and since there are not a lot of trees, a clear shot for Starlink. This CG is bare bones, but we enjoyed that there were only about four campers while we were there on a Friday- Monday in July. There are plenty of little dumpsters and a dump station up near the north part/entrance. There’s a restroom building towards the CG entrance but it’s just a men’s and women’s two stall bathroom. There’s no shower facility in the CG. We enjoyed our three day stay.

    Sedlmayer's Resort & Campground

A great quiet campground on the lake front.

My wife accidentally came across this private campground, which turned into a great stay. Located in northern Idaho and right on Spirit Lake, this campground has 31 RV sites that can accommodate various sizes of RVs. Every site has 20, 30& 50 amp electrical service however, only sites 1 through 21 have sewer. If you need a pull-through site, then go with #14 through#19, or#21.

The campground has a lakeside restaurant, boat slips for campers, and a small general store. The area was well maintained and clean. There are numerous mature cedar trees providing shade and privacy throughout the campground. My only complaint is that only 5 fire pits are located throughout the campground. This campground seems to be a local known quiet gem worth checking out for family fun.

What to do

Motocross adventures: For families interested in motorsports, Airway X Motocross RV Park offers a unique camping experience with on-site riding trails. One visitor noted, "The kids were entertained watching the motocross races. There is also a playground. Gas & groceries nearby."

Golf course camping: Golfers can stay and play at Deer Park RV Resort where sites border the course. A reviewer mentioned, "They have a discount for golf is available for RV park guests. All utilities worked well and were well placed."

What campers like

Premium amenities: Northern Quest RV Resort receives consistently high ratings for its services. One camper wrote, "Nice RV park with Wi-Fi and Pool. Spacious lots with grass and asphalt pads. Easy to get around, quick access to a gas station and Wal-Mart is super close."

On-site entertainment: Resort-style facilities often include additional activities. At Deer Park RV Resort, one visitor highlighted the range of amenities: "They have mini golf, real golf, pool, sana, fitness fun, lounge area, kids playground, dog area, and more."

Natural setting: For those seeking more nature, Bergsparken RV Park offers a forest experience with full hookups. Jerry A. described it as having "views of Mt Spokane and gorgeous sunset views," while another reviewer mentioned wildlife encounters: "Be ready for encounters with deer, rabbits, wild turkey, quail, and even the occasional elk and moose."

What you should know

Site spacing varies significantly: Space between campsites differs dramatically between parks. At Liberty Lake RV Campground, one camper observed, "While sites are close, they are spaced well enough that you don't have to worry with hitting your neighbor with your awning or having to play Tetris with your slides."

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some locations. A Liberty Lake visitor noted, "If you are looking for a true outdoors in the woods camping spot this is not the place for you. You are maybe half mile from I-90 and road noise can be heard all hours."

Limited facilities at smaller parks: Some smaller RV parks offer hookups but limited amenities. At Bergsparken RV Park, sites are described as "level pull through with plenty room for extra vehicle," but facilities are minimal compared to larger resorts.

Tips for camping with families

Swimming options: Pools provide recreation when natural swimming isn't available. At Northern Quest, a visitor mentioned the "Pool was closed, fairly quiet but everyone has a dog," suggesting pet-friendly policies but seasonal pool availability.

Playground access: Blackwell Island RV Park offers family-friendly facilities including "a kids BMX dirt bike area, secret gardens, walking nature paths and a pond with their own resident ducks," according to one reviewer.

City-accessible options: For families wanting a balance of camping and urban amenities, Liberty Lake RV Campground places you "in the middle of the town Liberty Lake. Minutes from Safeway, McDonalds and Starbucks," as one camper noted.

Tips from RVers

Winter preparations: For cold-weather camping, select parks with proper facilities. At Northern Quest RV Resort, sites feature "level concrete pads" that remain accessible year-round, important for winter stability.

Site selection: Choose your campsite configuration carefully. At Deer Park RV Resort, a camper described, "We had as I call, circle the wagons layout. 4 RV spots are placed around a common grass area. This would be nice for a group, but a bit weird for a stranger placed in this circle."

Service quality: Luxury amenities at some parks include personalized service. At Deer Park RV Resort, "They collect your trash at your site every day, and have a propane delivery service so you can get your tanks filled without having to get out of your slippers."
