Mt. St. Helens RV Park

Mt. St. Helens RV Park operates year-round in Castle Rock, accommodating RVs up to 64 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. The private campground sits in a forested setting with nearby lake access, though several campers note the sites are positioned quite close together in what some describe as a parking lot-style layout.

Road noise from surrounding highways creates a consistent backdrop throughout the property. The campground provides standard amenities including restrooms, showers, WiFi, and a dump station, though maintenance conditions vary according to visitor reports. Some reviewers mention cleanliness concerns with the single bathhouse facility and note that certain advertised amenities may not always be operational.

The location serves as a practical base for exploring Mount St. Helens, with Seaquest State Park Campground offering alternative camping options nearby. Each site includes a picnic table, and the facility allows pets with a designated dog run area. Susan O. notes the property "looked more like their private storage area with tires," reflecting mixed experiences among visitors.

Reservations are accepted for this drive-in accessible campground. Rates range from $45-$86 per night depending on site type and season.

Very Poor Quality - False Advertising

This place is totally disgusting and in need of repairs. False advertising, many amenities are listed on their website and are not offered, nor are in working order. Only one bathhouse, that is very dark and dirty. Rotten old stairway that leads to dog park, very unsafe. Wooden structure in children's play area is leaning and rotted. Broken metal toys. Dried grass and tall weeds everywhere, berry bushes. No maintenance. No wifi, no cable tv, no level RV spot. No public access to game room/club house area. Which looked more like their private storage area with tires. No community kitchen. Everything in total disarray and in need of repair.

Nice people, noisy park

This might be a good stop over place for someone on the road needing a break, otherwise move along. A basic parking lot and the sound was so loud from the roads below it and around it, you couldn’t even think straight. Don’t let their photos fool you. Not to mention the bathrooms being disgusting.

Hilltop KOA

This KOA feels a bit like a parking lot. It’s nice to have cable/internet but not with the feeling of paying for parking. I would much rather be somewhere with a better view and not on top of the people next to me.

Good for long term camping

This is a great campsite for a stop off or if you are looking for a few more amenities.  Each campsite has a picnic bench but all are very open.

They have ice and wood available for purchase as well as a small general store.  At the main lodge, there is also laundry available and a pretty fun game room with pool and foosball. One great aspect of this campground is it has a fenced in dog run for your furry friends.  They also have a kid zone that has a play ground, tether ball and a bounce house

I liked the campground on a whole, a good option for a quick one nighter or if you need to stay a few weeks, a great base point.

Great for kids!

Very clean. Sites are extremely close together though. We have a back in site and my cable and sewer won’t reach due to where they are positioned. Also, upon checking in I wanted to purchase propane for my RV and was told there was no one there who knew how to operate it. So that was disappointing. But great location to visit Mount St. Helens!
