Fishing enthusiasts will find direct access to Harry S Truman Reservoir at this Army Corps of Engineers campground, where lakeside sites put campers within yards of the water's edge. The facility accommodates RVs up to 103 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus a dump station at the entrance for those needing basic services.
Sites vary from full sun to complete shade, with gravel pads and generous spacing between neighbors. Several waterfront spots allow campers to set up directly on the grass near the beach area. Joe G. notes the sites "are spaced a good distance apart" with some lakefront locations "less than 30 yards from water edge." The central restroom and shower building serves the campground, though some reviewers mention it shows its age and could use updates.
Cell coverage varies by carrier, with AT&T reportedly working well while Verizon struggles in spots. The adjacent Long Shoal Marina offers dining options and boat access. For additional camping choices in the region, campers can explore places to camp around Warsaw about six miles east. Rates run $20-35 nightly depending on site type and season, with America the Beautiful Senior Pass holders receiving standard discounts.
