Blakeley State Park Campground

We stayed at spot RV Spot 2. It was a pull through spot and easy to get into. The spot was somewhat flat but we had to maneuver to get even and then still needed leveling blocks. It was very quiet at night with barely any lights. The cell service was pretty good since it close to town. We didn't stay for long, but the historic park was nice to check out and the sunset at the water was beautiful. Overall the campground was great, good amenities, very quiet, lots to see, and close to Mobile and Daphne.

Some of the sites are so unlevel. But the historical tour of the park is amazing. So much information about the civil war. Other than the rv sites being so unlevel the park is really nice.

Beautiful park, love that it is smaller and felt secure. Enjoyed walking on the dock and view of the water. Went on a treed hike. Not to bad in shade with the water breeze for June.

Lots of history as this Is an old battlefield.

This place is rich in history and is absolutely beautiful. We came in on a Tuesday in July and had the tent section to ourselves. It was quiet and secluded. The ground was a bit wet from the morning rain but we were able to find a dry spot to set up camp. There are numerous trails to explore and they are all marked for easy exploration. The only downfall about this place was the showers. The water pressure was basically non existent. Besides the shower situation this place is a 10 out of 10. If you are a nature lover and historic buff then this is the place for you !!

Giant Rv spots that were very spaced and secluded. Staff were great although not very attentive. We left out in the evening to visit friends and they wanted to know what time we’d be back. We said we weren’t sure and they seemed a little out off because they had to “close the gate”. They just said if we came back “late” and the gate was closed to close it behind us. Lol.

Don’t plan on bathrooms cause the facilities are basically porta potties. Not a problem for us though but could be for others.

Super friendly staff and the spots, wowza, they are huge and all pull through. Bring your bikes, lots of roads to explore with little traffic. Oh, and all sites also have sewer!

Love this park. We stayed with a tt. HUGE sites, very secluded. If I look really hard through the woods I can see a neighbor. Very clean, well kept. We were here for Mardi Gras so not as much hiking as we would normally do. We will be back for the trails.

I absolutely adore Blakely, The whole park is very well maintained and all facilities are clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Trails are well marked and unless there has been a storm are very well maintained. So many activities can be had depending on when you go. They  have fun Blue grass bands at night around a large bonfire and food truck. 

The delta boat tours are fantastic. The walk way on the bay is great. The campgrounds primitive are well kept and have individual fire rings and pick nick tables. 

Love love love this spot, could not recommend enough.

Amazing views from the boardwalks and trails! Not far from Spanish Fort and shopping. We did many hikes through the grounds with the kids and everyone absolutely loved it!

We were assigned site 6. We were surrounded on 3 sides by woods but had neighbors directly across from us and diagonally. We were there for Mother’s Day weekend, which was cooler than normal with lows in the 50s. Friday night it rained and was quiet. Saturday the park was very busy, partly because things were finally opening up after quarantine. Mostly easy hiking with a variety of distances throughout the park from the campground. Boat tours not running when we were there. There is a boat launch if you want to bring your own. Bathhouse has restrooms on one side and showers on the other. The bathhouse serves as the public restroom for day use as well which made it very crowded at times. Food truck on Saturday for lunch was a nice surprise. Would go back again!

Great tent campground. Most sites have some privacy but a few are close to neighboring sites. Its a short walk to the bathhouse and tons of hiking trails are nearby. Rates are reasonable, picnic tables, and fire rings at the sites. Our favorite nearby camlground!

Wish we would have had more time to spend on the grounds . We were there second week of March 2020 for 3 days. Everybody was very helpful.

We stayed at the Historic Blakeley State Park campground in the Apalachee Campground. This is a super cool campground and state park with tons of stuff to do. The RV campsites are very spread out providing ample privacy from your neighbors and other park visitors while still providing water, power and sewer hookup ups. This campground loop was named in honor of the Apalachee Indians who once occupied park grounds. We would recommend staying at this campground or even the tent sites as there is TONS of stuff to do with lots of history!

Located on a historic battle ground. 21 - 26 miles of trails to hike, bike or horse ride. Gorgeous surroundings.

We just stayed one night while passing through. It was peaceful and historical. Nice size site. Clean bathrooms and individual locking showers on the back side of the bath house.

Blakeley State Park could be described as being "frozen in time". There's a lot of cool Civil War history to witness, as well as a beautiful walking path/deck along the bay. We were not expecting the $5/person charge to enter the park, so be sure to come prepared for that. No sign of trash on the ground anywhere throughout the park, so I at least know the money is actually being used for good. Map/trails are a little confusing. We had a hard time navigating the park, but the accidental detour allowed for us to watch a turtle lay eggs in the ground. We also managed to run into someone's pet rabbit-- which you can see in the picture provided. The only other thing you need to know is that there are yellow flies and they do bite hard (and can cause an allergic reaction in some people.) Definitely bring bug spray and sunscreen!

Good tent and off grid camp sites. Also a few hook up sites available. Even though it’s just a few miles to grocery, restaurants, and shopping once you’re inside the park you feel like you’re in the wilderness. Very secure and good fishing, hiking, biking, and historic battlefield to explore. Super friendly and helpful staff.

I went here once as a kid and I remember it being cool to see the bunkers and stuff but there wasn’t much to do but it was close so I would go back for sure.. I do remember it being very spacious though.

There are bathrooms and bath houses, fairly secluded campsites, along with 26 miles of trails which are easy to moderate with a flat surface.

You will walk through historic civil war sites, trails that were once the streets of the town of Blakeley. A beautiful hike on boardwalks along the Blakeley River then through a swamp on deep into woods amongst ancient oaks.

great campground and nature trails. They are in the process of devloping mountain bike trails. watch out for the ticks they seem to take over in the warmer months!

The park is set up on a historic site where they have several trails set up talking about civil war battles that occurred there. They have two separate areas for camping where one is for RVs and tents and the other is the more basic tent only sites. I visited the tent only area which had many many sites and most had a nice amount of space with a good bit of privacy. I was there in June though and it gets really hot during the day and night and also very buggy. If you were here in the fall or winter it could be a great place to camp though. The bathrooms were nice but nothing special. There is a single bathroom for all of the tent sites so if you are far you could have a pretty long walk. The sites are pretty cool to see so if you are a civil war buff it might be worth checking out. The camping is expensive though at $20 a night for the tent sites and $30 for an RV site. People were friendly though and it was one of the nicest places in the area.
