Best Cabin Camping near Vidor, TX

Absolutely love the atmosphere. Super clean grounds. They have the original camp grounds and then the newer expansion area. We stayed in the expansion area and there was very little road noise with it being so close to the highway. Only downside of expansion is that it is ALOT of concrete with absolutely no shade. There is a pool and hot tub in the expansion as well. VERY clean grounds and a nice and updated game room and laundry facility. The lake has really great fishing and there is a small swimming/beach area. The beach does have a lot of bees or wasps of some sort that are living in the sand so you have to wear shoes until you get in the water.

This was our second visit to this nice campground. Improvements were made after Hurricane Rita, All sites are gravel with plenty of room. Each side includes a picnic table-- with those between the two boat ramps covered--as well as a garbage can. Easy access to water for fishing and crabbing at the park plus convenient location to national refuge and coastline to the south. Bathrooms were adequate, spacious, and clean. Dump site also clean. Walkways and docks along the canal with a fish cleaning station on main covered dock area. New playground equipment and meeting room (rental) but closed due to COVID-19. Agree with previous review about noise. We were further away and didn't notice road or water noise at night. Good TV reception with regular antenna. Also no problems cell phone reception (ATT). We will definitely stay here again. This visit we were in our 25 ft travel trailer,

Hurricane Harvey flooded most of the park in 2017 but now it is completely open. The park is very nice. It is very typical of Texas parks.... awesome!!

One of my Texas relatives mentioned this area to me in regards to my birdwatching. Decided I had to make the trip as I do love birds and the water. Saw at least 40 bird species (probably more but I didn't always have my binoculars handy).

Kayaks are available for about $15-20. Several paddling trails will give you a scenic trip.

Facilities at campsite itself are primitive (vault toilets). The site we had was right on the beach, and I believe the other campsites were as well.

As with most of Texas, bring mosquito repellent or prepare to be covered in bites!

We stopped here for one night traveling from Florida to Texas. Small but nice park. Stayed in site # 22. Sites are long and narrow but plenty of shade. Park has some trails and creek area. Bathrooms were excellent!!! Park was not busy at all. Great for stopover as it's not far from I-10.

We were heading back to Texas after Spring Break and needed a quiet, easy stop for the night. Vinton RV Park ended up being a perfect fit for our family. It’s right off I-10, super easy to find and book, and felt peaceful the moment we pulled in. At first, we had looked at a few other parks online that looked a bit more“luxury” in the photos, but when we got here, we were honestly surprised—in a good way. The amenity center here is actually really nice and has more of a resort feel than some of the other places nearby. Our boys had a blast riding their bikes around the park. It’s a big property, and we felt totally comfortable letting them run around since it’s well off the main road. There's even a gate at the entrance, which adds an extra layer of peace of mind(it was open when we arrived, but I imagine it gets closed later on). All in all, it was a great family-friendly stop, and we’ll definitely keep it on our list for future trips.

We enjoyed Christmas in this quiet park, kinda chilly and pretty deserted. As per normal for RV parks, WiFi sucks but cell signal was adequate (fairly strong with WeBoost) close proximity to shops and restaurants (loved Tia Juanitas Fish camp). Walks, bike tracks, river for kayaking all add to enjoyment.

For those who have showered in an RV, let me say that the high pressure, hot shower is great. Nicely maintained public facilities were great. Level campsites (some look a tad shorter than most) Friendly staff. We did find 7 nights a bit long, but we will be back in the future

Our first stop in the maiden voyage of our travel trailer and this park was good and kind to us. Beautiful, level pull-thru sites with plenty of space from others, shade and sun and within walking distance to bathhouse and swim beach. Mosquitoes abound and there is no cell signal or wi-fi. Prepare to drive 20 minutes to grocery.

March 20-22, 2019. Nice park. Half of the park was closed due to Hurricane Harvey from 2017. Elevation 46 ft., electric, water, dump station, showers, flush toilets. Tia Juanitas Fish Camp close by and very good.

This is a small hidden state park that has rustic beauty. 25 campsites with electric and water, that can be used for campers or tents (tent pads at each site). We camped with a 27 ft camper, with barely enough room. Slightly unlevel, needed 2 blocks on left side. Each site has a tent pad, table, and firepit. There is a dump station. Extremely clean shower and bath house. Several hiking and biking trails, as well as a small beach area, kayaking, fishing, gazebo and playground. A nature center was on site which has activities for families on the weekends! Walk in tent camping without electric and water available. Our site #4 was only 16 dollars a night. Park rangers and camp hosts were knowledgeable and kind.

Nice campsites. Clean, hot showers. There is frequent train noise at this campground.

Close to home for us. Site far from swimming and creek.

It is a nice park not big with some nice trails, the camping spots are really close together, restrooms and showers well maintained and cleaned daily.
