    Yoakum County Park

Great little park with a golf course next to it

This place is awesome! Free electricity and water hookups. The signs are on the poles. The couple who take care of the place greeted us with a big welcome to Denver City! Will definitely try to fit this into our travels again.

    Gaines County Park

    Ok, pretty and spacious

Large park, lots of space RV hookups for $15 a night with a 5 day limit. A loose dog, had to be careful with my dog!!!! No cover over tables but BBQ pits were the kind with lids. Showers and bathrooms were gross according to my grandkids but had the best toilet paper we have seen at any place we have reviewed!!! Over all very pretty and the kids played on the toys in the rain.

    Eunice Municipal Recreation Area

Free (?) place in the middle of nowwhere.

We were on our way across from Carlsbad Cavern to Texas. Saw the sign and a few RVs in the 'campground' and pulled in. There is a little lake, or maybe just the irrigation pond for the golf course... some picnic tables. Wasn't sure if we were supposed to pay? No signs about camping, but obvious RV hookups. We were just car camping. Pulled in to a spot, used the porta-potrys, crashed for the night and were on our way. Some people were fishing. We saw a nice sunset. Definitely not a destination, but fine for a free night on the way to somewhere else.

    Coleman RV Park

    Not too shabby

This is one of those great little RV parks offered by some small towns in Texas that are free (donations accepted). 12 spots, kinda level, a tad run down but it's in a good area. Can't beat it for an overnight while traveling across TX. We didn't use water or electricity because our fresh water tank and batteries are full so we really didn't need anything but a safe place to sleep for the night.

    Yoakum County Park

    Free county park

Beautiful spot next to golf course. However, rv hookups are next to where they were watering the grass when we arrived Thursday afternoon so we had to dodge the sprinklers to set up. But very quiet and the oil field smell noted by others was not very pronounced

    Coleman RV Park

    Helpful stop with hookups

This was a nice spot for a night while doing a long drive. It is connected to a city park, with disc golf set up right near by. There are hookups at each parking spot as well as a water and dumping station. We didn’t use any of the amenities, just parked for the night, but the road near by wasn’t too loud and we felt comfortable :)

Guide to Denver City

Denver City camping options span across the western Texas plains at approximately 3,573 feet elevation, with sites typically experiencing hot summer temperatures and mild winters. The area's climate creates ideal camping conditions from late fall through spring, when temperatures range from 40-75°F. Available campgrounds across Yoakum, Gaines, and neighboring counties provide various accommodation options for travelers with pets.

What to do

Disc golf course access: Coleman RV Park connects directly to a city park with a disc golf course setup nearby. "This has lots of room to park... Nice park with fresibe golf and volleyball, and they have horseshoe pits," shares Jill K., also noting the paved walking paths surrounding the area.

Golf course proximity: At Yoakum County Park, campers enjoy access to the adjacent golf course. Deb M. mentions, "Great little park with a golf course next to it," while another camper notes the duck pond also located on property.

Community recreation center: When staying at Randolph Rampy Park in Tatum, visitors can access additional facilities. Chris L. explains, "6 sites with full hook ups right next to the city park," while another reviewer notes its location "to the back of the community center" with a "nice big grassy area with picnic tables."

What campers like

Free extended stays: Lady Hall/Randolph Rampy Park offers no-cost camping with generous time allowances. Jill K. reports, "Full hooks up. Gravel and pavement. Pretty level. Quiet and safe. Stayed a few days each time," while Daniel C. confirms, "Full hook up sites" though with "not much space for larger rigs."

Electric variety: Rockets RV Park provides diverse electrical options for different rigs. Kurt Z. appreciates the "Clean, well-maintained, EV-friendly park amid a charging desert," noting "He had no issue with us charging our EV from the 50 amp outlet at our site."

Quiet atmosphere: Multiple pet-friendly campgrounds prioritize peaceful environments. One oil worker staying at Rockets notes, "I stayed at most of the places in town and the one thing that Rockets has and the others don't is quiet. RV don't deaden noise very well so finding a quiet place is a must."

What you should know

Weather considerations: Sprinklers can affect site selection at some locations. At Yoakum County Park, Cari K. advises, "However, rv hookups are next to where they were watering the grass when we arrived Thursday afternoon so we had to dodge the sprinklers to set up."

Limited facilities: Some dog-friendly campgrounds near Denver City have minimal amenities. Vanessa M. notes about Seminole City Park, "This spot is good for self sufficient RVs. There are no facilities, but there are plenty of electric hookups for RVs."

Evening activity: Local gathering patterns may affect some campgrounds. Kerry L. shares about Seminole, "This nice little park gets a little busy with the local kids but remained under control. The noise and burnouts stopped at around 10. The police kept a lid on everything."

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Several parks feature play areas for children. At Seminole City Park, Vanessa notes, "Playground is nice and of course the park is town center so amenities are nearby."

Sports facilities: Harry McAdams Campground provides additional recreation opportunities. Sergio P. mentions, "Great place to relax. Its away from the main road. Very spacious sites," making it suitable for families needing space to spread out.

Shade limitations: Some campgrounds lack natural cover during hot months. Chris L. reports about Randolph Rampy Park, "Minimal shade for the heat of the summer, but the area and park are clean and relatively well kept."

Tips from RVers

Overnight convenience: Many pet-friendly campgrounds near Denver City serve well for single-night stays. Sarah G. advises about Yoakum County Park, "Looks like a good spot for a quick overnight or if you need to dump black tank. Not great for more but seemed safe enough for one night."

Parking configurations: Gaines County Park provides spacious setups for various rig types. Jena H. describes, "Large park, lots of space RV hookups for $15 a night with a 5 day limit... Over all very pretty and the kids played on the toys in the rain."

Level sites: Most campgrounds offer relatively flat parking areas. Jeremy K. notes about Randolph Rampy Park, "Room to park beside your trailer as well," while Jennifer M. mentions Coleman RV Park has "a slight slope but it's fine for a night or two."
