Reelfoot Lake State Park Campgrounds accommodates pets at all campsites with water and electric hookups. Dogs must remain leashed throughout the park's two camping areas - the larger South Campground with showers and a playground, and the smaller, more secluded North/Airpark Campground. Campers consistently note the exceptional kayaking opportunities with pets, though mosquitos can be problematic despite repellent. Columbus-Belmont State Park, Coyote View RV Park, and Roberson Camper Lots at Reelfoot Lake also welcome pets with varied amenities. The bathrooms at Reelfoot are well-maintained and clean, with free showers available at the South Campground. Most sites feature picnic tables and fire rings, though site levelness varies considerably across the campgrounds.
Wooded trails throughout the Reelfoot Lake area provide excellent pet exercise opportunities, with the unique flooded forest environment offering distinctive wildlife viewing experiences alongside dogs. The lake's cypress trees create a scenic backdrop for camping, though some waterfront sites are not easily accessible with pets due to cypress knuckles and lack of beaches. During summer months, snake activity increases near the swampy areas between sites 19-25, requiring extra vigilance with pets. The visitor center with raptor exhibits and the boardwalk trail make for worthwhile excursions when traveling with well-behaved dogs. Many campers recommend taking advantage of the ranger-led boat tours, though pets must remain at camp during these excursions.
"A Reelfoot lake park ranger recommended Coyote View and I’m so glad we went. They easily made us a reservation and Lowell looked at the slide the next day."

Parker’s Crossroads is located very conveniently off of I-40 and the park is gorgeous! They have some long term campers, storage, and an RV Repair Center on site. The shop inside has more parts then we have ever seen at an RV Park. While here we needed a switch for a water heater, they had it!
The campground had some narrow roads and some less than level sites but they were all doable. They have a nice pool area, spaces for dogs to be walked (on leash), pet waste disposal, cabins, and full hook ups.
The park was very quiet and clean, well kept. They have large mature trees, and great landscaping.
The cellular service for TMobile and AT&T we’re both decent and streaming video was possible each night.
If if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and not be around a whole lot of other campers with kids, this is the campground for you. We stayed in the Air Park campsite number 4. There are two circles in this campsite with no frills except Water and Electric. The area is very flat and the bathhouse is within walking distance. The lake is absolutely gorgeous and Grey's bait shop offers boat rentals for $80 a day. There is a picnic table and fire pit at each campsite. Located 4 hours west of Nashville is in the upper corner on the Kentucky line in West Tennessee.
On our way across the Tennessee border, my fiancé decided he wanted to stay here as this is where he spent many childhood memories. Beautiful, small secluded resort on Reel foot lake. RV campground with hook ups, as well as a few different cabins to stay in surrounded by locals who live on the lake. Kayaking and motor boating, and cute little gift shop.
Reelfoot is just a few hours from our Tennessee home and a great weekend spot. The campground is next to a waterfront restaurant with boat/fishing and a nice deck. There are several restaurants and stores close to the campground.
The camp store is small but has essential items and the folks were nice. They delivered wood to our site.
Ranger Review: Matador Droplet at Ginger Bay Land Between the Lakes, Ky.
Campground Review:We visited Ginger Bay boat ramp and dispersed camping area while at Land Between the Lakes(LBL) , Ky. Ginger Bay is actually in Tennessee. The road you take off The Trace, which runs down the middle of LBL, has several signs and other turn offs. So pay attention to the signs. You will end up on a dirt/gravel road with some interesting ruts and steps hills. Once you make it to the Ginger Bay area there are several side "roads" that lead to camping spots. If you are not in a 4 wheel drive you might want to investigate the road before using it, there were several deep ruts. You have the pick of spots if you have a dispersed pass which can be purchased at any of the offices. Direct put in is an option or if you have a bigger watercraft the boat ramp is right there. No toilet facility, no fire rings, no tables. This is a all what you bring with you. Generators are allowed but definitely spoil the quiet. When we visited the ramp was somewhat busy with day-use visitors. Realize when you dispersed camp at LBL though there are no large predators there are coyotes so if you have dogs keep an eye out. Every time I disperse camp I hear coyotes throughout the night, sometimes very close by. A single coyote would probably not bother a dog but a pack will.
Product Review: As a Dyrt Ranger I get to review some awesome outdoor products. This trip I took along my Matador Droplet. This is a little blue water drop shaped silicon shell with a seam-sealed polyester bag folded inside. The 3 liter capacity actually holds a lot. After my kayak trip I put my wet shorts, shirt, under garments and water shoes into the bag. There is a draw string on the bag to close it up. The bag then went into my clothes bag in the back of the truck. The wet stayed in the bag.
Pro's: compact, nice size dry bag, very convenient, cute
Con's: a bugger to get back in the silicon container, takes practice, a little expensive but good quality that will last
I plan on getting a few Droplets as Christmas presents and will probably get a Droplet XL to add to my pack gear.
** Daniel F did not stay at the same campground his photos are not of the same place and site 907 doesn’t exist** Most of the campground is seasonal. The non seasonal spots are very close. Our awning was inches away from the slide out of the camper next to us. The biggest reason I wouldn’t come back were the 2 dogs in the permit house up front. The people would let them out at 6am (11pm to 7am quiet time) and leave them out to bark non stop for at least an hour. All available spots are in the front of the campground by the barking dogs.
Boomland RV Park& Campground was super easy to find off I-57 near the I-55 junction. After passing the Boomland complex, the large campground sign clearly marks the right turn into the park. The campground operates first come, first served, so campers choose a site in either the 50/30-amp or 30-amp pull-through sections, all with full hookups, with power options clearly marked on numbered site posts. We drove the small campground loop to find a longer pull-through so we would not have to disconnect our 40-foot fifth wheel and F-450 for an overnight stay, and settled on site 20 with 50/30-amp service. The 30-amp section in the center of the campground appeared to have the longest sites overall. After parking and setting up, registration was handled inside the building by completing an envelope with name, vehicle license number, and payment, then dropping the envelope in the box. All utilities functioned properly, though the campground does not offer Wi-Fi. Cell service was solid with three bars on both Verizon and T-Mobile. We walked to the Boomland complex and noticed 24-hour diesel pumps that accept major credit and trucker cards, which could be convenient even though we did not fuel there. The Boomland complex was worth exploring, with a restaurant, gift shop, packaged foods, fireworks, souvenirs, and snacks, and during our November visit the seasonal Christmas shop was especially impressive. Boomland also offers a 10% military discount on non-food items. The campground does not have a designated pet area, but a large park-like space across the street provided plenty of room for off-leash exercise. Overall, this campground made a solid and convenient overnight stop.
