The Best Yurt Camping Near Limestone Cove, Tennessee

Located along 1600 ft of the North Toe River, Buck Hill Campground is the perfect place for families to relax and play! We offer sixty-nine large shady RV sites, each equipped with picnic tables, fire pits, and full hookups with 20, 30, and 50 amp service. 

The campground features 144 acres of hiking trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Enjoy a lazy ride down the river on one of our river tubes, spend the day fishing from our trout filled waters stocked by the State Hatchery, or enjoy a challenging hike to the top of Buck Hill Mountain!  

Primitive tent campers will enjoy our open grassy fields overlooking our pond, as well fire rings, picnic tables, water spigots, and several wooden deck pads. For those that like to camp but prefer to sleep on a bed as opposed to pitching a tent, enjoy our camping cabins!! And if you prefer “glamping” then our new tiny home cabins provide all the amenities of home! If you are looking for a quiet family & pet friendly campground, you’ve just found your new home away from home!

## Overview

Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Area sits in the scenic mountains of Pisgah National Forest. This is a great place for small to medium-sized groups to swim, fish, tube, hike, camp, picnic and simply relax in the cool shade of the forest.

## Recreation

The river provides endless hours of fun for families and water enthusiasts, including swimming and tubing. Anglers can also try their luck for trout and smallmouth bass from the shore. Picnickers will enjoy relaxing in the shaded picnic shelter set amidst the deep woods. After eating, visitors can take a leisurely walk along a one-mile trail or get a workout on a 3.8-mile trail.

## Facilities

Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Area offers 35 primitive campsites, sites equipped with picnic tables, tent pads, lantern posts and campfire rings with grills. The facility provides hot showers and restrooms with flush toilets. Campers can purchase firewood, ice, tee shirts, souvenirs.

## Natural Features

As the name suggests, Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Area is shaded by a thick hemlock forest with a mix of deciduous trees and rhododendrons. The facility is adjacent to the South Toe River and sits at an elevation of 2,900 feet. 

## Nearby Attractions

Visitors can enjoy scenic driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway or hiking in Mount Mitchell State Park.

Carolina Hemlocks Rec Area

Located alongside the North Toe River, these beautiful camping rentals make the perfect glamping escape! The 16x20 tents offer different bed and floor plans. Each tent has lighting and electrical hookup. Glampers will enjoy cozy linens and furnishings, plenty of privacy, and close access to the shared facilities on-site which include Men and Women restrooms with hot water showers. Guests can park their vehicle right behind their tent. Great for romantic weekends or a family trip! **The River Camp is situated between the Toe River and an operating railroad. There is no set schedule on when the train runs. During contruction and the time ive lived on the property it is minimal. The kids seem to love it and it hasnt become a nuisance, more of a novelty to see an old train carving through the mountains!**



Rusty's Roost River Camp

Mountain Stream RV Park is at about 1800′ elevation in the middle of the Pisgah National Forest, nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. Beautiful Buck Creek flows through this valley and along two sides of the campground. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 3 miles away, but it’s 5 miles by road.

We are surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. You can take in many of the interesting attractions that are only a short drive away or you can just relax by the stream and listen to the cold clear water flowing over the rocky stream bed. And speaking of the stream, there’s trout in that thar’ water. All of our sites have full hook-ups – power (30 & 50 amp), water, sewer and cable TV.

Mountain Stream RV Park

Blue Bear Mountain Camp is excited to add Glamping to our existing variety of camping options. Now offering Tepee and Cabin rentals in addition to private, rustic, remote, leave-no-trace Tent camping on 150 acres of pristine mountain land. RV camping, while not remote, still offers the beauty of a natural setting. The number of campsites is limited to protect the land so you have plenty of room to play, hike, fish and enjoy the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. At 4,000 feet elevation with cool mountain breezes and mild temperatures. Come Get away from it all at Blue Bear Mountain!

Blue Bear Mountain offers spacious, Low Density RV camping, spacious, private, rustic car accessible tent camping, and spacious, private remote tent camping. Beginning in Spring 2015 luxury Tepee and Cabin rentals provide you with more choices of how to experience your mountain getaway.
