Chickasaw State Park Campground welcomes pets at all tent sites, RV spots, and select cabins throughout its wooded grounds. The park maintains a strict leash policy requiring dogs to be on leashes no longer than 6 feet at all times. Campers report the park's hiking trails are particularly suitable for dogs with gentle terrain and access to Lake Placid. Cherokee Landing Campground provides similar pet accommodation with designated pet walking areas near its full-hookup RV sites. Both campgrounds require proof of current vaccinations, and campers must clean up after their pets. The campground is exceptionally clean and well-maintained with spacious sites that provide adequate room for pets to rest comfortably beside tents or RVs. Most sites feature fire rings and picnic tables positioned to allow pets to remain nearby during meals.
Big Hill Pond State Park's extensive trail system offers excellent opportunities for hiking with dogs, though the paths may be challenging for larger RVs over 26 feet. The park features multiple water access points where dogs can cool off during summer months. Wall Doxey State Park Campground provides similar pet-friendly accommodations with a 2-mile hiking trail around its lake that proves popular with dog owners. Campers should be aware that summer temperatures in the region frequently exceed 90°F, making early morning or evening walks preferable for pets. Wildlife encounters are possible throughout the area's campgrounds, so keeping dogs leashed is essential for their safety and the protection of local fauna. Most campgrounds in the region enforce quiet hours beginning at 10 PM, which includes restrictions on excessive barking.

"The electric service has an open ground situation so my camper wouldn't take it which was fine but a lot of the year could be an issue. There are bathrooms and private showers."

Very first time camping in our pop up camper. The campsite was beautiful and the facilities were extremely clean. We had issues getting our popup down but luckily, had the friendliest camper neighbors who attempted to help us. The views during the fall here are breathtaking. We got to hike through the trails around the lake and pet the horses at Wranglers. When we were leaving, the staff had started setting up Christmas decorations and lights and that was just as beautiful. Would definitely go back for unplugging, strictly nature purposes (WiFi was very spotty).
Nice campground next to Graceland. Clean park. Open area for dogs to walk.
We showed up after hours and the security guard was able to help us get situated. We walked right over for a tour of Graceland and the Elvis museums. Also, if your hungry, call Marlows BBQ and they’ll send over their pink limo for easy pickup and drop off. They also have a small playground and area to walk your dog. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Very friendly staff!
We spent two nights here (May 26-28, 2022). This is a decent, easy access CG with level pull through and back-in gravel sites in Memphis. It is located next to Elvis Presley’s Memphis and across the street from Graceland- it’s a busy area. There are a number of activities available: walking trail, swimming pool, playground/horse shoes (both in disrepair) and dog walk. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It is a great base camp to visit everything Elvis, Beale Street (34 points of interest) and the Memphis area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. We would stay here again.
One of the nicest parks in West Tennessee but not for RV's over 26 feet. Great hiking.
Beautiful southern Tennessee setting. Bathrooms didn’t appear to have been cleaned while we were there. Checking the facilities every few hours would be a priority on a holiday weekend but evidently it wasn’t.
My wife grew up going to Chickasaw State Park as a child and when she wanted to go back with our family we couldn’t get inside because the state of Tennessee was totally redoing the campground. They closed it for one year. When it was reopened, we booked a trip with some friends to see what all had been done. This park was already an outstanding campground, but the addition of sewer in many of the sites and updated hiking trails, ADA access, and the newly updated bridge across the lake were breathtaking.
We stayed in the primary campground area and had access to sewer 30/50 amp and water. There is a horse camp with newly added 30A electric and newly paved pads. There are tent camp sites on the other side of the lake that are beautiful if that’s your thing. There are several hiking trails and a nature center with owls and a falcon. In warmer months, there is a marina with boat, canoe, kayak rentals and a swimming area that were all being updated. There is also a restaurant in the park, but i was closed for a complete renovation as well. The playground is new for parents interested. The dump station is easily accessible.
If you are looking for a beautiful spot in West TN with full hookups and plenty of activities for the family, Chickasaw State Park is outstanding. We will definitely be back!
This campground is on Sardis Lake, but is off the beaten path from everything else. The campground is old, but the sites are roomy. Some are shaded and some are in the sun.
There is a playground and a large open field in the middle for games, sports activities, dogs to run, etc.
The bathhouse isn’t the worst I have seen. It gets the job done, but the floor in the shower area seems to be falling apart.
