Great state park. Easy back in some pull through. Spacious clean sites. Many historic hiking trails easy to mod. Horse trails with stables. Bike trails. Lake Craig is nice fishing with rentable Jon boats, kayaks and SUP. No gas motors or swimming. No pool and dump station only. Playground and clean…
Compared to some other state parks in SC, this one was less crowded and more peaceful. It had rained right before we arrived, and we got stuck in the mud trying to back-in our pop-up on a hill (lake campground #29). The campers all pitched in to pull us out. It was silent at night. Nice hiking…
We’ve loved staying at Yates due to the flexibility and excellent communication of the owners. There aren’t really any extras here but if you’re just looking for reliable water/electrical/sewer and wifi near Charlotte this is a fantastic option.
Theres a variety of sites, full hookup, permanent, handicap.. Lots of wooded sites. Water spouts between sites for each campground to have water hookup. Fire ri g and picnic table at each site and sites are decent size. Lake is beautiful. There's 3 playgrounds, a beach, plenty of benches to sit…

I loved everything
It's nice and clean and quiet
We’ve been several times to kayak, fish, hike, and camp. Always had a blast with the kids there. Never leave disappointed.
Clean campground with full hook ups except cable TV. It is near the Charlotte airport, so there is noise from planes taking off and landing between 6 AM and 10 PM. Easy in and out. They only accept cash.
Overall this is an ok campground. Beware of many tight small sites that slope front to back. These are the sites closets to the main office. The sites in the back are very level but seem to have a bunch of long term and are reserved for bigger rigs. Bathrooms were very clean and the WiFi was…
This park has been used for the SC State Championship race for mountain biking numerous times. The trails are challenging for expert riders, but also good for beginners.
Though the sites are stone that is so over shadowed by the great views of the lake, nice little camp store. Nice tall trees to help cool, come summer. There is a concrete walkway along the lake shore with a few large swings at it’s edge. The walkway leads to a fishing dock. E, W, dump station

We are very close to Cane Creek it is a great place to get away for a few hours. The area is beautiful and amazing place to kayak they have a nice kayak ramp.
Sweet little 4 mile hike back to a primitive camping area. There is one designated area but we passed a few campsite scattered along other areas of the trail. The National park sits back-to-back with the state park and is joined by a nice trail.

Beautiful place to camp, hike, and kayak! I don’t live far from Cane Creek, so I take my two labs there almost every weekend for a good hike through the woods and they LOVE IT! A few of the trails are right on the lake and the dogs love to hop in and cool off. I load up my kayak once a month or so…
