Best Cabin Camping near Galeton, PA

Lyman Run State Park Campground offers cabin accommodations near Galeton, Pennsylvania with electric hookups and water access. Cabins are situated in wooded settings with picnic tables and fire rings at each site. The park maintains two separate camping areas, with the smaller loop offering more secluded cabin sites. Bathrooms and shower facilities are modern, clean, and well-maintained. "The bathrooms are great! Remote, cute little place! They maintain the place well!" according to a recent visitor.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. DB Adventures in nearby Gaines provides year-round cabin rentals with full amenities including electric, water, and sewer hookups. Ole Bull State Park Campground maintains pet-friendly cabins with electricity and water hookups. Reservation requirements vary by location, with most state park cabins requiring advance booking through the Pennsylvania DCNR website. One camper noted, "Sites are pretty level and well kept. The bathrooms are great! Remote, cute little place!"

Most cabins include beds but require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Firewood is available for purchase at many locations, though some campgrounds like Lyman Run do not sell it on-site. Several campgrounds, including Canyon Country Campground and Pine Creek Vista, feature on-site camp stores with basic provisions. Cooking facilities vary by location, with some cabins offering full kitchens while others provide only fire rings or outdoor grills. Visitors planning extended stays should bring sufficient supplies, as the nearest full grocery stores may require significant driving time from these remote cabin locations.

    Retreat at Fern Hill

    Clean, private, swimming!

Stayed here multiple times. Cabin is clean, large firepit, huge patio, great swimming pond with a slide. Cabin included many kitchen items as well as there being a full size freezer/fridge, tables and chairs on the patio. Pet Friendly but no fenced area.

    Hills Creek State Park Campground

Well established and popular- perfect for groups

This is one of the main attractions for the area. Locals come here when the weather is nice.

We stayed in yurts, which are round tents ($38 per night). We had a cozy wooden deck and slept four people in two bunk beds. We also had a cooking stove, refrigerator, heat and electricity.

There is plenty of fishing and hiking to go around.

Really recommend this campsite if you have a little extra money to spend and are looking for a light getaway with friends.

If you're looking for a secluded place for yourself or with a loved one, I would look around the area for a less-popular campsite.

    Happy Acres Resort

Nestled in the mountains of PA

Stayed for 5 nights with a partial hook up for our brand new 32 foot travel trailer. Other reviewers had mentioned that sites were small, so we specifically asked for a larger site. We ended up getting a corner site right on the edge of a hill looking down on the main office and playground. It was perfect. Playground was huge with multiple playsets suitable for all ages. Bathrooms/showers we're clean and well kept. There was a basketball court, shuffleboard and carpet pool that you could borrow equipment for. Our son and his family rented a wolf den cabin and it was very clean as well. Internet access was spotty, as expected but WiFi at the main office was good. We enjoyed the small, but very clean pool. Would definitely go back. Pet friendly, but there isn't a dog park/off leash area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Right across the street from little pine state park.

One day while away from our campsite, park personnel mowed  mid-cafe high grass at and around our site and the mowers threw grass all over our table with a table cloth, chairs, trailer, driveway...you name it...it was covered with grass. Why the mowers didn’t direct the mowed grass AWAY from our items is beyond me. What a mess!!!

    Potter County Family Campground

    A great campground!

The campground is run by a family who is super nice. The cabins and the bathhouses were extremely clean. I stayed on a full hookup site that had water/electric/ sewer. The sites have Picnic tables and fire rings that are cleaned out.

The campground was really close to Cherry Springs, where we could go stargazing! It is also close to Lyman Lake where we could go swimming and kayaking and fishing.

I had an amazing time here and I already have other reservations because it was great for big families!

There is also a huge ATV trail right across the road that my neighbors rode at all day!

Russell P Letterman Campground — Bald Eagle State Park

Great place to relax, get away and enjoy the outdoors!

We have stayed at Bald Eagle several times and have enjoyed our stay. The park has basic, water & electric as well as a few full hookup up sites. The sites are very spacious with a picnic table and fire rings and are easy to back into even with a rig as big as ours. We stayed recently and the park office was undergoing rennovations and expanding their camp store. We discovered one of the evening talks about the eagles nesting in the park and the ranger set up binoculars for us to try and see the nest. Very peaceful place to stay with lots to explore. The views are spectacular in the fall with beautiful foliage! If you are not the camping type you can stay at the Nature Inn and enjoy the beautiful lodge in an amazing location! Definitely tops on our list of state parks in Pennsylvania!

Russell P Letterman Campground — Bald Eagle State Park

    Nice large sites

Sites are on 2 loops. The sites have a decent amount of space between them so you are not on top of each other. Picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Not a lot of trees so many sites are in the direct sun. There is a mix of 50 and 30 amp, some sites with water, some without. Very quiet. I found the sites easy to back into due to the layout. One loop allows animals, the other doesn’t. I was able to make a very last minute reservation with a number of site options available.
If coming by gps, make sure you put in Bald Eagle State Park modern campground. 9 miles to a number of big box stores and 30 to Penn State.
